A very interesting project. I'm looking for the Dip28 probe (socket) for some time but can't find it anywhere. Where do you buy these or did you design and make them yourself?

haha yep I was also looking from them for a while... you can find them on AlliExpress or eBay Chinese vendors, but for quality stuff, I get them from DigiKey part no:
