World’s strongest man 1982 magic mountain California. Bill Kazmaier. Tom Magee. John Gamble. Geoff Capes. Ernie Hackett. Curt Marsh. Dave Waddington. Bill Dunn. Jim Hough. Ross Browner.
Once the iron curtain came down in the early 90’s the game changed. I know it’s era’s, training, nutrition and recovery now. Big Z would have walked through this like it was warm up! Anyway, go big Geoff, I was a huge fan, watched all this in the 80’s. RIP legend!
It's sad that these video constantly are getting taken down. I wanted to watch the WSM documentary called 30 Years of Pain, but I couldn't find it from any official sources. I don't understand why I have to watch a mirror of this content, when it was on the official channel a few years ago :'(
Hackett didn’t even get it off his head, and that bar bend is probably the most dangerous thing to ever ask someone to do, the more neck you have the more likely you’ll crack your neck
Bill obviously never herd of the giant maskil from Nova Scotia , biggest man that ever lived without gigantism. His feats of strength will never be matched!! Look him up
You are correct but thinges are totally different now then they where back then... back then there wasn't really all that much of muscle enhancement drugs like there is now besides gear... in my opinion bill is more naturally strong. I think he would give him a run for his money if they where from the same time honestly
Also just because your tall and have big muscles doesn't mean your actually strong there are plenty of people out there that built and have the look but they aren't actually strong they just look the part but can't really get out there and lift heavy like these guys back in the 8th early 90s where just training way different an with out all the cheating supplements and other fancy shit they just did it straight up for the most part lol
@@michaelnewman5625 Complete circus bs, no proof of anything he did. Wouldnt be especially strong in conventional movements like Kaz, nobody that doesnt train all his life can match someone that does. Simple as that.
@@AndreRiikonen he preformed for the queen man , there is a museum in Nova Scotia for him , just because it happened before we had phones deoesnt mean it didn’t happen, he used to pull little Tom “small person “ out of his jacket and let him dance on one hand!! 100lbs out at arms length for ten minutes!! One barrel under each arm at 300 plus pounds, and much more , read up , would of easily deadlift 500kg
That truck pull was so flawed with the yellow lane something was wrong. Geoff did the truck pull twice as he had to do first in yellow lane until they realise all athletes struggled with the yellow lane. So they have athletes another attempt in the blue lane and guess what they all did better. But I’m sorry capes doing a truck pull twice to cement second place should beat bill only doing it once in the blue lane.
And Bill should have came back that next year but they were dummies and didn't let him. I'll never watch the WSM competitions from the 80s past 82 because of that. I'll probably skip ahead to 2002 now
Yeah it's probably not the best idea to cut Blood flow to your Legs off entirely before you Squat a Billion lbs. I'd also avoid causing a big scene during my approach to the Bench, just setting yourself up to look stupid.

Bill having no legdrive on his Log lift is just insane
prob had help from secret juice
@@dixinbuttz44with it u still needed leg drive
@@PanzerCrewman but being juiced always helps
Big Z doing the same a couple decades later with 200kg continuing the tradition of making people think ‘what the fuck’
Geoff capes bent that metal bar like it was a damn toothpick
Kaz is and always be THE MAN!!!POWER TO THE PEOPLE.
The strongest man whoever lived!
I Love the passion!
I believe it!
KAZ was soooo Huge!
Bill kazmaier is like one last man that you call in hard time or bad situation , what a charisma and strength he had
Why not the first guy you call?
Magee was so amazing, the lineup wasnt really that competitive but he excelled.
Bill was actually pretty damn hurt in this competition and he still won it.
Damn Geoff was good at the bar bend
Looks like he did it a few times before
This was the final time Kaz gets the title, and before Jon Pall entered the scene a year later.
Kaz was banned for three years. He would have won many more.
@@johnsambo9379 You mean 6 years, excluding power strongman 1987
Much better with eye of the tiger as intro music. Awesome
cant do >>>> copyrights
Tom Magee battery hold slow mo was halarious :) lol
Kaz was something else, Geoff respected him and he respected Geoff 🎉🎉

I really thought McGee/Sigmarson woulda been the next Capes/Kaz rivalry.
Sigmarsson capes rivalry instead
When Kaz said...
We'll meet again.
Im not sure what its called but i love watching the event the 1v1 tug o war
13:56 that's a FAIL! How did they award him that? He had it on his head, bent arms, then threw it down. Meh!

3:10 Is that the same Tom Magee that had the “lost match” with Bret Hart?
Not into wrestling enough to say with 100% certainty but he did have a stint as a pro wrestler so I am pretty sure it will be
Yes!
Sure is!
No Bret Hart had the match with him.
Marsh did Great as a footballer that doesn’t train power lifting
41:16 bangs his head then that kid is like wtf
Waddington!
Is the judge on the log lift was Mr. Fred Hatfield?
It certainly looks like him. Be awesome if it really was him.
Without any injuries, Bill would have probably done the 1,001 lbs.
One year before the emergence of THE VIKING!
The viking that had the events rigged for him.

North America seems overly represented in this world competition. 🤔
This was in its early years . Its much more european now
Americans always talk about their weight as though that tells you anything about their abilities....
Bill Dunn.. is this the guy who started the whole Vince McMahon steroid trial?....
Wow I think it is😮

But have you seen how Geoff bends the bars? it's a press. Incredible.
