Great looking dry fly mate. The video was blurred some what this time. Not as clear as the others you have done. But you could still see what you where doing. Thanks for sharing with us all. Best Regards Ken
Watching your amazing videos I often wonder about the size of the hooks which appear many times bigger than (in this case )size 14. A kamasan size 14 in my box in very small and these look more like size 8 specimen hooks when comparing with your fingers. Are fly hooks a different standard to regular coarse fishing hooks? What is the distance from point to spine please? Thanks for your videos they are terrific.
Hi David, I would have to be honest with you modern hooks like the one I used in the video I would class it more like in-between a size 14 and a 12 due to the style of it as it has a wide gape and fine wire...I'm also using a +2 filter on the lens which does blowup the footage, the distance from the point to the shank is 5mm...I'm glad you enjoy the videos and thanks for the kind words... All the very best Davie...
Hi ridmavor, I have attached a link to a video I made on the vise that I use for you to see... All the very best Davie.. th-cam.com/video/3P6MZIrpGG0/w-d-xo.html
Beautiful! Between your accent and the ease with which you tie, it makes a rough day and my type A personality relax. Thanks so much for your work.
Lovely fly Davie. Well tied and explained. Many thanks for sharing.
Beautiful fly. My wife passed away on April 23rd. I have looked forward to using my files often but it is of course bitter-sweet. All the best, Sean
