Great bloody band. I know Weller is great but The Jam was the greatest thing he had! Bruce Foxton is one cool bass player too and Rick Buckler the perfect time machine for this amazing trio.

I was 18 and felt like the world was my oyster indeed ! Now living in Brisbane since 2005 but I do miss England and the people and its incredible musical legacy

Think the story behind the song was some tough and ready working class lads tried picking on some posh guys in a pub only to find out they were the Eton rugby team! That would produce similar results to a racist in Essex harassing a small Asian dude only to find out he was a Gurkha. Would love to see that.
I think it’s pretty selfish of Paul Weller to refuse to re join the band even for a couple of tours. Jam made him a star he could have given back a little.

Besides being an EXCELLENT bass player, when Bruce Foxton is harmonizing with Paul its just sublime. Doesn't get enough credit as a vocalist.
