Glad you like them! Since Mike McVey's 10 commandments are not applicable to these (I would paint anything he did the same way he had!), I could go wild, so... I guess it was somewhat a win! :)
Every time I see fish-men.... The song just starts playing through my head once again... "If I were a Deep One, blub blub blub blub blub blub blub blub blub blub blub! All day long I'd swim beneath the sea, if I were a Deeeeeeeep One!" Awesome tutorial, great range of colours and themes. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a song to go listen to...
Thanks for another inspiring video. I'm really enjoying painting these guys. I was feeling a little bit intimidated by the tentacles but you always make them easy to take on. I let the ink dry for 2 days but when I did the cleanup with ivory it reactivated with the ivory. I was kind of expecting it to happen and gives a cool blend.
It's a shame some things had to change with the classic minis, but the Abominations are certainly interesting! And let's face it, the Fimir were pretty obscure in the greater scheme of things anyway! Love the mix of colours too 😁
Thanks a lot! I might be tempted to buy some alternative Fimir miniatures one day or another. Maybe when I get a 3d printer, who knows! :P I shouldn't even be considering adding to the pile of shame, Alex... you are a bad influence!
Love the schemes and have started painting my Abominations appropriately. Unfortunately, your video does not mention what kind of glaze to put over the whitened/highlighted portions of the skin and scales or the blue and the green Abominations. It only mentions Reikland Fleshshade or Guilliman Flesh for the Castlevania Abominations (which are my favorites). Could you enlighten me and tell me which glaze would be fitting for the blue and green ones (especially the green ones)? Talking about the step starting at 4:08. Thanks for reading through my ramblings. Love your channel!
The blue/green ones didn't get white highlights like the red ones. Only the inside of arms/bellies got the white highlight treatment + flesh glaze 😀 However, if you want to do the highlights and glaze over, you can use something along the lines of Spacewolves Grey or Gryphcharger Grey. One crazy thing I would try could be painting the scales with a silver color and adding some glazes to tint them blue or green, but that is madness coming to my head right now, and I would need to experiment first!
It's interesting the controversy around Fimirs, when you think that the abominations are loosely based on H.P Lovecraft's "Deep Ones". The Deep Ones breed with the people of Innesmouth! So not exactly family friendly either!
I guess H.P. didn't expect kids to read his tales, and maybe Fimir were not created with the idea of 12 year old kids painting lead figurines and pretending to be generals in a fantasy setting!
I'm so early this time! also these turned out great Miguel, love the color pallet on these!

Looking HOT *stares in British* great video
Hahahaha!
I need that gif in my next video. I'll make it happen!
The Abominations remind me of Deep Ones from Lovecraft's Call of Cthulhu Mythos.
Now that you mention it... yeah, absolutely!

Awesome designs, look great
Thanks, Allen! Gonna paint them?
