Nice review. Now 4 months later.. can you do a long term review, assuming you have used it alot? Have you had any quality issues? Wear and tear breakage?
If you do the shunt mod to the controller it overcomes the acceleration delay problems. The bike responds much quicker and has 3 times more torque for climbing and taking off from a dead stop. It makes it a completely different bike. No more turbo lag, power kicks in instantly.
I recently purchased this bike. I need the controller model number. And what other options besides the M5 LCD screen I can use. And the dimensions of the screen so I can purchase a screen protector for it?
How's the suspension linkage on the rear? ..my MX01 is shaking like crazy ..I'm thinking I might lose the rear wheel ..after ~4000km in 2 years. I'm contacting with shengmilo but I doubt they can do anything about it. I had to go with a model without rear suspension - I'm thinking of doing a review about it saying all the issues and there are a LOT
I use that motor on my dh bike builds. You can push 45 amps into them and they will climb the side of a house. Never broken one in 2 years of serious hard use
Is the motor direct drive or geared hub motor? I just purchased the mx01 on eBay for $1375 The seller said direct drive but the hub doesn't look to be and the claimed torque @95nm doesnt sound like direct. He claims the controller is 15amp. The written claim was 1000W which would be 20ish amps. I'm worried its more like 10 amp.
@@chargeriderepeat7024 Thanks.. I could not find much info on the motor. However I received a response from Sheng Milo saying the Mx01 has only 8amp controller. Does that seem correct to you? If so, I was hilariously mislead by the seller on eBay.
@@robcoastalga8279 it's geared, also controller is rated for max 15A but the real amps are 8. You can find an aftermarket controller but it won't fit where they put it(inside the ebike)
Does anyone know if a battery with a higher ah would give you a greater range. I've noticed that there are batteries with 10ah, 12ah and I think I saw 17ah that I think can fit these types of folding e bikes.
I do not recommend anyone to buy it after 5 months of use the battery and motor stopped There is no after-sales service to secure spare parts Loss in every sense of the word..
I found that when riding on bumpy roads, there is a solder that gives out inside the batter (key area). This will kill the bike. A little solder and a few soft phome pads in the battery tray solved this issue. I hope that this is what happend to you, as it is a very easy fix.
I agree. (1) It arrived after a very long wait. (2) There were no instruction booklet with the thing. (3) It had road tyres fitted on it instead of "All terrain" tyres as shown on the Amazon UK web page. (4) the thing just stops without warning. (5) The Chinese company had the cheek (when I asked for a refund) to email me back with a very cheeky reply. They said that this (REFUND) would be a huge loss to them!!! What about my loss??? I know how you feel mate.
They look great but are really a pile of tripe. They are so heavy that you cannot lift them (folded) yourself into the back of a car. Don't waste your money pal. Shop around. Mine has been in 2 ebike repair shops for electrical failure 4 times in 1 year. I've only done about 340 miles. It just suddenly stops! Cant wait to get rid of it. There are much better bikes out there.
Oh, ok! That sounds nice! 👍 😏 I wouldn't necessarily complain about the battery life (range) but I would choose a more powerful motor, say 1000W or 1500W for a better power response.
Nice to hear that they're the same:) I just got ALFINA FX-01, it'll be delivered to me next week. What can you say about them, do you own any of the models?
@@ParaglidingManiac I recommend you join this facebook group: "Shengmilo Mx01 fatbike" where people share experiences. I am happy with mine - only issue is that I worry the display isn't water-proof. When I got this one to test out they didn’t have it like that. Also it would be super nice to have one with dual motor even with 1500W in total. I think this industry will get better and better. 👍🏼😬
Hey! When my battery starts to run low (3 bars left) the screen and battery shuts down. Also, battery holds shorter time, running low faster. Have anybody experienced this issue? What can be the cause? my bike is around 6 month new but i use every day about 36 km a day
Hi is anyone else still waiting for a Chinese e bike to be delivered after weeks and weeks apparently thiers a back log at UK shipping ports so its going to take longer and it sucks haha
After binging on watching about Chinese e-bikes and after my own scooter, I came to a conclusion ALMOST ALL Chinese e-bikes suffer from poor and weak suspension. If only EU or some other ISO could force the manufacturers to actually put SUSPENSION TRAVEL DISTANCE with actual display + name of the suspension. Otherwise, the sellers just put info that it has dual suspension and then it turns out it sucks. Now, can anyone get a hold of some high official to pass the law and make sellers put the travel distance? They all boast about Shimano, which rings a bell to most of us, but they fail to say anything about suspension. Some cheapo spring in there?
I picked up the Senada brand variant of this bike called the Roamer and you're not wrong, the front suspension rattles, knocks on the upward stroke and feels pretty cheap. I emailed the manufacturer and they told me the pressure adjustment knob does nothing and so that just leaves the other knob to lock out or engage the suspension. Pretty lame.
Perrine Kid. If you have a look at the website mentioned in this video that this bike was purchased from, you might find foldable e bikes that look exactly the same as normal bikes.
