Yes it FREAKINNNGGGG WORKED! Did the power supply and then the corrupt storage then unplugged everything for 5 mins, turned back on and it allows me to download

Thanks this helped me out a lot. I think it was the reset from unplugging the console for me. Which that's usually works for most electronics most of the time. I use this method for modems and cell phones mostly.

I unplug mine whenever it’s not in use in case of power surges that seem to happen here a lot. It still didn’t fix it...The thing that worked for me was holding the disc in place while the drive tried to suck it in for about a second and letting it take it. For some unknown reason that actually worked and I was baffled by it. They even state this as a fix in a lot of technical websites but I don’t know the reason why it fixes some consoles and others it doesn’t? I laughed when they said that and wasn’t even going to try but decided to give it a shot and to my amazement, it worked lol?

Well my s model xb1 started having drive issues and wouldn’t read any discs inserted.
There’s an article that states possible fixes and one of them is holding the disc in place while the drive tries to suck it in (super hookboogey lol).
Well I tried it and it actually worked.
What would cause that to happen and is that a sign of my drive heading towards death and mechanical issues?
I think so... I've been doing the holding my finger in the middle of the disc thing for two years now. 2 weeks ago it finally gave up and I can only play some one games and 360 games for some reason. Really sucks cause my good games are all disc games.

They say it realigns the disc inserting mechanism somehow? The most common cause was if it got too dirty. Mine has been fine ever since I did the disc hold fix but after because of reading that I used light compressed air to clean it off the best I could.

If so then yeah, I’ve had 2 that were doa with disc drive failures, back when you were forced to buy the Kinect sensor with it. They both made that clicking sound from a gear out of alignment. I couldn’t do anything to fix them either except they were within warranty at the time so I sent them back for repair. The 3rd and final one lasted a little over a year and died also. I’ve had pretty bad luck with the first gen series XB1’s.

The second fix, clearing the Bluray cache, fixed my disc's not reading on my xbox one S. Thank you so much. Now I can finally play the Gears of War Collection.

I’m making two technological changes by the end of this year bro. Moving from iPhone to and android for a change (my TV also only can do screen mirroring with Android) i’m also moving to ps5, I’ve had disc read problem for about a year now. My Xbox chooses when it does and doesn’t want to read disc. The blu ray and unplugging option worked for me but we shouldn’t even have to do that 😫🤬

So mine worked after I cleaned the inside and turned it completely off and let it sit unplugged for about an hour. Hope this helps anyone in 2022 lol. My problem was "your disc might be damaged or dirty" and it said that with every game I had.
