- How to Fix Xbox One Games NOT LAUNCHING and the INSTALLATION STOPPED Error!
Welcome back to the channel. In this video I will be explaining how you can fix games that aren't launching on your console and fix the installation stopped error. I was trying to play my game and it wouldn't launch so I tried a few different methods to fix it and it still wouldn't work so I uninstalled the game, tried reinstalling it and I was presented with the installation stopped error that wouldn't let me do anything with the base game but had no effect on the downloadable content or expansions.
After spending about an hour and a half talking to Xbox customer support I still had no solution to the problem so I ended the chat and tried one last thing that was simple and it worked. I changed my default installation device from my external HDD to my internal hard drive and the game started installing straight away. My cold war had an update last night and when I tried to update it, it said installation stopped. Everytime I try to delete and re download it, it won't even get to 0.1% can anyone help?

I had the same issue than yours, hard disk lacking of space. I transfered from the internal to the external and it was immediatly fixed. Your the best, far better than Microsoft guys. Thanks !!

Life saver, I was getting minecraft dungeons hero edition and it stopped installing, stuck at 23.1 then after watching and following this video it worked again and started to install. Really nice job I liked!

Unfortunately none of this has helped me out it seems. It’s a scam that I can’t download half (or even more) of the games that I own because of this glitch on my Xbox. No matter what console this should never be a problem, and it’s not even special to me since I’ve been looking at video to help solve this exact issue, but none of them worked. The crazy part of this is that I tried installing some of these games on my new Series X, and I still had the same problem. This feels like a big disappointing scam, where you pay money to temporary play a certain game for a few years until your console gives out on the game.
Literally, three years later and this worked I’ve been having this issue for a year now thank you so much. You deserve every subscription and like I have.

FINALLY!!!! The one that worked for me was changing what it was downloading onto make sure if it says “internal storage” and “Xbox” as two different things to download onto make sure to download onto “internal storage”

Omg thank u ik I'm late but I tried holding down the button for 10 sec and unplugging the xbox and before that it wouldn't load the image of the game but when I did this it loaded and worked I have xbox one S so I thought it wouldn't work but thanks

I CANT BELIEVE IT ACTUALLY WORKED!! I’ve been trying to update FH5 for almost 8 months and not even 4 different Microsoft assistants could tell me how to fix this problem! THANK YOU!!! SAVEEDD MEE! Clearing the Alternate MAC address worked for me. BUT NOT RIGHT AWAY. I freed up space by uninstalling any leftover add ons, and shrinking any shrinkable games. Then CLEARED THE QUEUE. Went back to Home Screen and hit the start button on the game itself, and selected manage bundles. Once you get to the next screen you should be able to select just the base game to install. If you have other stuff downloaded already, it might still work don't know. If it doesn't I would recommend uninstalling the whole game again and then try to download just the base game. Hoped this gave a little more clarity.

My fortnite installation was corrupted and I couldn't find a solution anywhere until I saw your video. Turns out switching over to internal storage for installations was the key. Thanks so much 🙏

His first step about clearing local saves, is what I did to get it to work! Clear your local saves and if it doesn’t work, just hard reset your console with keeping all your games and apps, bc it’ll fix/remove your corrupted files and saves that may reside on/in the console.

it sees to happen quite regular on external drives its strange , im going to hold off on the xbox and ps5 i got bad feeling about xbox , but a even bigger one about ps5 all you hear is ps5 tried replying to your other message but its vanished lol

Weird it happened to me like twice when trying to install updates but I just wait or stop it and than resume and it worked

Im confused brotha. I did everything no luck so far. I havent tried clearing the local saved games which I assume is the solution, but I only have internal storage. As in the only thing that pops up is my internal storage data. Any advice on where I go from here

Black Ops Cold War was giving me this issue and when I cleared the MAC Address and switched the install location from my internal to my external Xbox 1TB SSD it completely resolved. Thank you so much.
@Brain5454 I’ve had the external hard drive for years now but I never had it set as a default installation destination. I think that’s what fixed it for me

Thanks for the help, mate! It was being super stubborn, because after changing the location, I didn’t realize it was STILL trying to install itself on the external. I just physically removed the external hard drive and ba da boom it worked

My buddy bought USB Powered external 2TB HDD and it had lots of installing problems with bigger games. That was replaced with one that has own power brick.

I know this is a year old but im just starting to have issues with this. Im trying to reinstall outriders because I want to get back into it as my mate brought it on sale, but every time I try installing it I keep getting the installation stopped notification! Ive hard reset ive factory reset, ive tried resetting my Internet both with cable and WiFi and its still saying installation stopped!! Everything else installs perfectly. Maybe this is PCF saying fuck Outriders...

Actually ridiculous 🤣 I factory reset today and its installing better than it was before, I would say do it if you aren't to bothered about reinstalling everything you had installed. No idea why it was having issues! Could be Internet problems, the games trying to install an update while trying to download the game. The servers could be bad etc

For Forza Horizon 2, on Series X, if you have "installation stopped":
1. Insert disc, cancel automatic installation.
2. Access Game card, official club.
3. Add FH2 to "home dashboard".
4. Access FH2 from home dashboard and use "Install all", while keeping the disc inside.
-Others reported to remove the disc, after hitting "Install", but that gave me the "Installation stopped" error.
-Hope it helps. It gave me nightmares for infinite retries, after 2 months and reading forums.

Did you have the update going from the queue when you did a hard reset
I just found a fix so you can install games on your external hard drive again, you have to go to manage storage devices, go to your external drive and press the pause button, and press on "Format" it will delete everything on the hard drive unfortunately, but you can just reinstall everything and it will let you install any glitched games that wouldn't install before

Yeah, I have fibre optic internet. I used to get about 220-250mbps when I lived with my Mum which was crazy fast but 130mbps roughly is the most I can get with this company (BT) at my house now

Hey, this worked changing the install to internal. Thanks. My guess is Ubisoft probably messed up when updating the game for X series X. Next gen must be installed on internal to run. They probably didn't make last gen version install location optional.

This happen to me today, I cancel the load, restarted the console, clean the disc, and it was a new disc, but it had fingerprints on it, then try to install again, and it worked!
This still works to this day. Just had this issue with Dying Light 2. Thanks for your help man!!!

@@toblerone8534 3:25 I used the installation location method. I changed it from external to internal. I deleted the game and all add-ons and I redownloaded it entirely on the internal hard drive.
