The acceleration and maneuverability on this bird is absolutely stunning! Even in slow motion you can see the hawk gradually catch up to its prey and twist and turn to grab it.
And that's one less S. vulgaris in the world, you've trained your hawk well! I always find the piles of Dove feathers in my yard from wild accipiters, never get to see this part of it though, thank you for posting.
After car-hawking starlings with a couple of female sharp-shins, I was surprised by the diminished agility of a male Cooper's I flew. Yes, he made a lot of kills, but there was a marked decrease in the finesse between the two species when flying starlings.
Yes I understand that I used to fly merlins that were so much faster although I’ve never flown a sharp shin I understand where you’re coming from however I choose the Cooper’s hawks over all of them just because I can hunt quail with my dogs and also rabbits. So in my opinion they are the best and most versatile hunting hawk
..But a Cooper’s Hawk was looking at my cat through my bedroom window this morning. My cat stayed still on the inside of the house and the Hawk was about six inches away on the outside of the window glass. I revere the raptor. I respect it enough to avoid its path.
@@TheRenegadeTVNetwork Okay that's good because I thought TH-cam was deleting things. When you deleted your video, another video from a subscriber was deleted and I also lost 4 subscribers in that same time frame. I thought maybe it was a glitch from TH-cam.
He was flying a first year passage Cooper's. About 70% of passage hawks die in their first year because of one reason or another. So he's doing a good thing.🙃

Superb.
This was a whole new type of "drive by"

I just found a Cooper’s Hawk feather in my yard this morning. 12” long tip-tip. I live in SE Florida and plan to visit SW Indiana this summer, lol.

Was not expecting that.
Does it feel like an extension of you flying off
One in the same
Looks like you did a really nice job with that hawk!! Assuming she is an imprint?
Yes, I normally fly passage. Took a bit to get her going but now she’s doing well
Nice female hawk, cool to see
Nice job on the bird but Jesus some of the flights your letting it have are really dangerous for it
You have to work up to that
0:51 😂😂
What happened to Eddie, this video was uploaded yesterday and it was taken down. Was that your doing or TH-cam?
I did it. This is a better cut

Cool shit bro!
Does she prefer to be alone when you're at home?
She does, she lives outside in her mew most of the time. She’s is a 2nd year passage trapped bird.
Yo! What state can you have a Cooper’s hawk as a pet? Nice Bird!
Not pets, only hunting partners and one must acquire a federal license
I wouldn't let my hawk eat starling I would bring some something quality along with me
Starlings are a nuisance, good riddance I say.
Man. Don’t keep a Cooper’s Hawk unless he was a rescue.

Why do you have that hawk? for hunting? If so, you did a great job training it. You must drive the liberal loons crazy.
Definitely for hunting. We hunt in the field with dogs for quail and rabbits and zI also fly her from the truck at starlings. Loads of fun
@@TheRenegadeTVNetwork Sounds like a great time.
