This made me realize how good of a decoration candles are, they can fit in almost any context
For real, they are quickly becoming one of my favorite ways to decorate
Even if you’re a world building stickler like me, candles are great because they’re literally just a wick and wax, for my Ancient City restoration that avoided using as much surface materials as possible I was able to use tons of candles instead of the dim soul lanterns, I also really like putting concrete under the candle to make it seem like the wax has spilled over and covered the block

I took one look at his mustache and was like, "that looks like the kind of mustache someone sticks on to pretend they're a serious expert."

I love the educational Minecraft content. This game is perfect for it, and bringing in an expert to judge your build is awesome. I could see a whole series about bringing in experts to look at your builds.

I love how the science man would be saying facts about the plants and Mogswamp would answer with “like a baby kangaroo” and he’d just laugh.
I hope as GenZ steps more into the professional world, these types of videos become more popular. Fun and yet educational.

I love how this man combines gaming footage with real life footage. It really shows us the TH-camr as a person, and encourages a healthy combination of games and real life.

I love the research that has gone into this video, even showing the pictures of the mentions plants, trees, etc. on screen helps a lot with the visualization of different species and variations of the same kind. It is really awesome!

At the beginning when I first heard what the botanist was going to be doing, I thought of all the TH-camrs that were just taking advantage of others professions to just milk views. But after watching, it's clear that you were just having fun making a build, and had the idea of bringing a professional to 'rate' the build, and it turned out to be very informative!
I think my main goal was trying something new and attempting to educate people about some cool plants in some small way, and I think if there's any reason it was successful it's because Matthew was so well spoken and such an amazing guest! I had no idea what to expect when I organized the zoom call, but he blew me away with his impromptu knowledge.

This is genuinely such a cool video. To bring in outside information like this to bridge the gap between real life science and video games is incredible. I haven’t really seen any content like this out there but this was awesome to watch.

This video is such a delight. Loved the added builds of bigger versions of plants and plants you don’t have access to. Matthew’s input on facts about the real life plants was so nice to listen to, I especially liked his input in saying bamboo and sugar cane models should be swapped. I love listening to people talk about things they’re passionate about.
And seeing Matthew excited about the mangrove trees was so similar to my excitement about them. I learned about mangrove trees in high school biology and went on an excursion to a reserve to observe them, I was pleasantly surprised by how they went about adding them in minecraft.
I didn't realise I needed this form of content. I love having the whole building part and the vlogging part and the expert teaching us stuff part. Its the perfect mix of everyting i like executed perfectly
This video was absolutely incredible. I don't think there exists a better botanist in the world that you could have found for this video.
The way it peaks over the mountains yet without being fully visible makes it really intriguing and gives me a sense of adventure, as if it's beckoning me to run over and explore. That's to say it's amazing af
The customs plants don’t really look like the actual plants, but I think that paid off so well, because you made it look so insanely cool with the creativity and made it look almost prehistoric and wild. Love this

I really hope that Mojang adds Suspicious Sand and Gravel to the wandering trader's trade list for your sake!
Maybe a nether structure with suspicious gravel, since gravel is often found in the nether?
Thinking about it a bit more, that's probably a possibility!
I mean, Wandy T already has sand and red sand in their trades list, so it isn't too unlikely that could have different types of suspicious sand.
The only problem would be if they trade suspicious gravel and getting enough of it to get a sniffer. That will probably be harder than getting the Mangrove trees or the new Cherry blossom.

Man I love this so much. When I was a kid, minecraft videos were all mod showcases and videos about herobrine. The fact that minecraft is not only still around, but is such a common part of growing up that it can be used to create educational content like this is so wonderful to me. This is the exact kind of video that would have gotten me so excited about botany and the natural sciences were I still a kid.
Cool, can't wait to see what you came up with. I resently built a greenhouse too, but mine is smaller. I went for quartz with a bit of copper for accents.

I wasn't disappointed! :) So many creative ideas that I have to implement to improve mine! I especially liked the creative ways of building bigger versions of the plants.
My greenhouse's main hall has a jungle exhibition, with jungle plants and a tall jungle tree, and the lower half of the trunk reaching into the cellar with an axolotl exhibition. Another hall has a flower exhibition with all the available flowers. And then there is a water lily room, modeled after an exhibition in my local botanical garden. And the last room I tried to build with nether plants, but I'm not happy with it yet.

Hey, I'm fairly new to this channel and I doubt anyone's really gonna see this, but I just wanted to say that I really appreciated this video. I'm watching this right before a nerve-wracking event and some stressful days ahead of me, and hearing all the cool plant facts and just kind of sitting and relaxing is really helping my nerves. This was phenomenal! Those old Victotian greenhouses are some of the most beautiful structures ever imo. Of course, the fact that I love growing plants (especially stuff that shouldn't thrive in New England) probably helps make them so ideal to me. This was such a wholesome video, and it was a great addition to include a plant expert to add some fun knowledge and insight. He was great. Also, his mustache was so gloriously Harvey from SDV!

As a person who loves minecraft and has an irl greenhouse, I just want to say that this is an incredible video! It perfectly combines 2 things that make me very happy and it honestly makes me want to recreate my greenhouse at home in my minecraft world!

Whenever I'm getting tired of a build and want it to finish faster, I just take swiftness potions. It really helps with those long stretches of symmetrical designs. Just blast right through it so I can spend more time on detail

Nice video! Using minecraft as a way to teach others about plants (or really anything) is an amazing idea and hopefully we can see more videos like this in the future. Though i have to say that personally, the constant change of texture packs in your videos can be very jarring at times. I have been playing minecraft for 12 years and i love that i still find different youtubers to watch even all these years later personally the two have been linked because i didnt even start watching youtube till i started watching minecraft youtubers
This was very cute, and definitely something I would love to see more of. I enjoyed listening to the explanations and clarifications of your expert, as well as just seeing how happy he got from the amount of work you put into it.
BUT! Don't put yourself under so much stress my guy. If you have to stay up all night, or wake up 5 times or just feel stressed about getting these kinds of videos done quickly, it wouldn't be worth it. Take care of yourself first. We won't go anywhere if you need to take an extra couple of days.
I’ve wanted to do this for literal YEARS- even had a similar appearance in mind- but never had the patience to do big survival projects! Your videos are so cathartic to me!
