CEREBRAL DOMINANCE:
• The dominant cerebral hemisphere is the hemisphere containing the speech centers (areas).
• The information is transferred from the dominant hemisphere to the non-dominant one via the commissural fibers, mainly via the corpus callosum (300 million fibers).
• Which one?: In most individuals, the dominant hemisphere is the left hemisphere:
1. Left hemisphere: in 95% of right-handed and in 70% of left-handed individuals.
2. Right hemisphere: in 5% of right-handed and in 15% of left-handed individuals.
3. Bilateral dominant: in 15% of left-handed individuals. For that reason and others, it was reported that the left-handed are more intelligent than the right-handed individuals
