If you want great advice on drawing faces, learn what is there and why it’s there. Drawing itself can help you improve, but don’t get stuck on the guidelines. They will be a great help once you understand the 'why' of everything. You're doing really great!
just a small little bit of advice (ofc if you arent looking for advice then dont mind me lol) but one thing i would recommend is to start off with a circle first. then go on about drawing the chin from there, and the rest of the face. thats how i personally do it. you dont have to adapt to that approach of course, but IMO it looks like you are spending a lot of time on trying to line up the circle of the head with your guidelines. maybe switching to drawing the circle first might help place those guidelines accordingly ^^ anyways, love the chill vibes, and i cant wait to see how you improve over time! edit; also just realized you are left handed lol, welcome to the club! (another edit lol: just to clarify, this advice isnt meant to "correct" or "make you draw better" in any way. its just something to help you speed up the drawing process!
I love this type of video. It's nice to have in the background while drawing, it's like learning to draw together instead of just watching someone who has the combined draw experience of 50 000 hours. : ).
one thing I do when drawing faces is always put guidellines for eyes, nose and mouth. I can't tell you how to figure out which is where, because I do it mostly by feeling, but practice makes perfect.
also remember! ears always start at the eye level and end at nose level. so basically your nose is always the length from the level of the corner of the eye to the level of the middle of the nose. I didn't believe it at first, but then I started to look for it in real people, and most of the time it's correct.
Hello! Remember proportions from some images. Like, eyes are about one eye width apart, brows are on top of ear level, etc. Look for Excal's art tips. Edit: based Krita enjoyer
I would recommend drawing the circle first then add the guidelines, also I personally don’t think nose guidelines are necessary since there’s only one nose and it’s pretty easy to know where to place it. Basically if you can draw it without guidelines, I’d suggest not overcomplicating it by adding more
I think you are doing great and really trying to get the fundamentals right, fundamentals are always the way, trust me. but learning always takes time, no matter how hard you practice or how much information you consume, there are some things that just need time! so I would say keep practicing and all, but also consider reducing the pressure you are putting on yourself to get better fast :) ((I am not a pro and I've only been practicing for 4 years, so ignore my comment if you want to do so))
You know what, I'm just here to say keep drawing and keep going. You can do it! Also don't be afraid of using reference or instructional materials (I like the books by Bridgman.) And yeah, you don't need perfect shapes, they are just guidelines. Just get those lines on the canvas and build confidence! Happy belated birthday, dude!
You seem to be doing a good job at the eyes and know how to break the face into different segments. I recommend doing a full skull study, if you want to get really good at at doing the proportions. 👍👍👍
Hello, if you allow me to give you some advice that I think can help you, I would tell you that to learn it is always very useful to have a reference, it can be a photo or an image, dont be afraid to copy as long as you use it to learn. If right now your goal is to learn to draw faces, there are some rules, one that always helps a lot is that the distance between one eye and the other is equal to the other eye, you can look up the measurements of a face so you can get an idea of how it works. . And very important, practice AND DON'T GIVE UP
I have noticed that the curve of the nostrils on some people's faces matches the inner corners of their eyes. Giving you a good idea of what the length between the two eyes are.
"not the best at drawing circles" is the most relatable thing i have ever heard lmfaoo good luck on learning art, keep doing what you enjoy. and i do have one thing to warn u abt for the future, try not to get way too frustrated if at any point your progress slows or goes back, all artists go through that, and your art is actually so nice. happy late birthday, i'm so glad you woke up to those comments!
Happy birthday, king. Love to see you posting your art journey for us and you to see. We’ve all dealt what you are going through. Keep up the good work and enjoy your day.
good job!, i have a few suggestions, the eyes in most styles (even anime) will be in abou thte middle of the face without any perspective. The eyes on average have an eyes worth of space between them and about half an eye from the edges of the face, the sides of the head. When i comes to contructing the face, start with guild lines much like you did, get the vertical middle like, horizontal middle line and mark the edges of the eyes, the nose is about half way fron the eyebrows to the chin, and the mouth is in the upper third from the nose to the chin
You're going very well, dont forget you can flip the canvas if its hard for you to do certain curved lines, you should flip canvas alot, helps your eyes see mistakes and understand the shape of your drawing
Dont focus too much on detail from the start, the sketch is for defining shapes and creating the guide for your face, when drawing hair simplyfy to shapes stemming from the top of the head, look at references of anime characters or whatever style you are trying to either emulate or learn from
been drawing for 1 month and what really helped me was instead of just looking at a reference i printed it out and traced it till it really clicked where things should go because i had no idea what i was doing wrong till then
hey bro hope this helps but typically eyes on the face are one eye apart to help it look more proportionate and the eyes should just be a little bit smaller to make that change otherwise, this looks really good 😋
Happy birthday!!! I wish you the best on your artistic journey. If I may give you a tip for drawing, don't look for perfection, try to find a vaguely face shape first. Looking for references may also help form an understanding of facial anatomy. Just having fun with it, good luck man
Happy b-day! this showed up on my fyp! I use krita a whole lot, here are some tricks i personally use! 1.) If you click settings, and go down to dockers, you'll see one called over view, I use this one so that when i'm zoomed in i can see my full piece and make sure that it's looking good. 2.) I draw with a light red (dark enough to see obviously) then when i'm done with the sketch i turn down the opacity. this make it so you can see what you're doing while you're drawing. make a new layer and draw with a slightly darker / more vibrant red. I keep doing this until I'm happy enough to go to line art. (I normally have 3-5 sketch layers depending on what i'm drawing) 3.) PLease for the love of everything, Do not use the symmetry tool. A humans face isn't perfect! this also gets you used to having to draw all of it, so when you start doing 3/4 poses, you don't struggle as much 4.) you don't always have to start with the head shapes, sure it's good to have but I personally start with the face and make a head shape out of that ^.^ 5.) I would highly suggest looking at the stabilizers for your pen, go to you're colour wheel, go to the tool options page, and where it says brush smoothing, mess around with them, see what you like! I like using the basic for sketching and a stabilizer with sample count 60 and delay 1px 6.) use the M key to mirror your drawing, this not only helps you draw things that are difficult drawing one way, but it also shows if your pose / anatomy looks wonky 7.) when sketching, only use 1 - 2 layers for one sketch. move things around with the lasso tool with in the sketch if you need, but too many layers ends up being a pain! if you have any questions, or want to hop in a discord call, lemme know! i had someone do the same and it was super helpful to have when i was beginning to draw digitally
not drawing advice, but you could try to add music in the bg of ur videos to like...wach time...improve...something something....views...engagement.....anyway yea!! KEEP DRAWING! YIPIEEEE!
