  • Today on the AutoNation Test Drive we’re taking a look at the 2015 Nissan Murano. This is a mainstream crossover that almost breaks into the luxury category thanks to a large assortment of upscale amenities. The model we’re driving is the Platinum AWD edition, with a 3.5L V6 engine good for 260hp and 240 lbs-ft of torque and a CVT transmission.

Complaining about the back window? i own the 2015 murano SL techpack, I find the 360, backup camera and moving object detection very useful.

The nissan awd system is the best on-road awd in turns on when cornering and starting for acceleration and handling. This is good for me as i wm not wilderness guy. Love the 360 cam. Mpg could be better. But a 0-60 under 8 secs. Is pretty fast for an suv. Beats most of the turbos in the class. Xtronic cvt is better than dual clutch tranny imp

Good review. Even the murano's AWD is made for control in cornering and acceleration from start. It ian't for off-roading. Ialways wanted AWD to enhance on road handling dnd noe off-road ruggidness. Yes the murano does noe preten to be anwilderness suv. But a capable and amooth city dweller. That is exactly whatI need on the rainy streets of dlorida

I wish I got 21 mpg around town in my 2023 Murano as you mention….
I get 12 mpg in the city but I get 31 on the highway….very strange

What happened with horsepower if I am not mistaken the 2010 Murano has 265hp did Nissan lower horsepower for the 2015.

Comfortable stylish city dweller? Almost sounds like a comfortable runabout vehicle. But with more style😎

I really liked the new Murano. But what I didn't like was the back window-major blind spots. It was a deal breaker for me.

Lee62bt blind spot monitoring should alleviate your dislike...that and if you're really paranoid, grab a set of blind spot mirrors for $6 from amazon and put on side mirrors....voila.

CHRISTOPHER BENJAMIN Why waste time waiting for Amazon to ship when you can physically go to any auto parts store for the same price?

Cause I'm a prime member and get what I order in 2 days. No real wait plus convenience = Amazon.

I know this type of car is not made to burn thentrack. But with that low drag and 260hp; it seems the 0-60 time ahould hit be low 7. 0 especially with the weight loss in 2015. What is the best 0-60 time for the 2015 model

It is not below 7. I seen 7 being its best. 8.3 is the worst I have seen. 2015 platinum awd is like 21000 with low mileage. Yep. The 2019 has made a few changes. You would figure around 6 seconds flat for a vehicle like this. Are there any aftermarket parts to get more horsepower or torque?

Unfortunately the CVT is the cause of the slow zero to sixty. I have a Murano and it’s punchy when you accelerate from a rolling start but horrible from a dead stop. But honestly for a heavy crossover vehicle with AWD I’m happy with the overall performance other than the horrible 12 MPG in the city. I get 31 MPG on the highway though.

One downfall that should've been added for this new 2016 year would be auto stop start technology to save gas at lights even a 2012 Malibu has this capability

    • @seankurth4371
      @seankurth4371 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Unnecessary stopping and restarting will put extra wear on the starter (assuming cars without physical ignition keys still have such things), and how much gas are you really saving by avoiding

+Sean Kurth the cars equip with that feature have beefed up starters and batteries solely for that purpose ..

+Sean Kurth and it could be quite extensive when you're in bumper to bumper traffic

That's because most people don't like that feature (why most cars so equipped have a disable feature for that option).
