Here's my list: 1. Empire Strikes Back 2. A New Hope 3. Rogue One 4. Revenge of the Sith 5. The Phantom Menace 6. Return of the Jedi 7. The Force Awakens 8. Solo 9. The Rise of Skywalker 10. Attack of the Clones 11. The Last Jedi 12. The Clone Wars I'm in the middle of my personal rewatch of the series now. I'm up to Solo. My opinion could change, but I'm not sure that it will. Also, Duel of the Fates is probably going to be one of those movies that I'm going to wish was real all the time. That script was brilliant.
1. Empire 2. The Last Jedi 3. Return of the Jedi 4. A New Hope 5. The Force Awakens 6. Revenge of the Sith 7. The Rise of Skywalker 8. Attack of the Clones 9. Solo 10. Rogue One 11. The Phantom Menace
The Duel of the Fates story was ultimately a better story for a final chapter in this trilogy. Execution could’ve been another story, but I feel if they used more of the script’s plot, JJ could’ve even directed it pretty well. The best thing is that it does all the new characters justice in a way that they deserved.
"Duel of the Fates" isn't perfect, but it feels more in-line and more in tone with Episodes VII and VIII. It doesn't negate anything and builds upon what works before. Finn and Rose were really able to really shine in this initial screenplay, and its a shame this development fell to the wayside. I also appreciated the darker tone as it raises the stakes of the story. Finally, a duel bladed blue lightsaber wielded by Ray throughout the entire movie. Heck, yeah! That's great skill progression for her character. My Rankings from favorite to least would be: 1) ROTJ 2)TESB 3) ANH 4) ROTS 5) Rogue One 6) TLJ 7) TFA 8) TPM 9) Solo 10) AOTC 11) TROS
Another great episodes, gang! From the days Jedi Council, to Dark Side Light Side, and now this. I can't thank you enough for these shows. It brightens my day and gives me something to look forward to. And yes to the "What is she proposing" shirts! Cheers!
I can do a solid Top 5 I have to rewatch the others to rank them all, 5. Rogue One 4. Return of the Jedi 3. Revenge of the Sith 2. A New Hope 1. Empire Strikes Back
It is surreal to be listening to this while waiting in line for Rise of the Resistance as I am in LA for the Schmoedown Spectacular. Wish we would have gotten to see this as the final movie. It ties to what came before and introduces some really nice concepts to the galaxy as well.
My list: 1- Empire 2- New Hope 3- Sith 4- Jedi 5- Rogue One 6- Phantom Menace 7- Last Jedi 8- Force Awakens 9- Atack of the clones 10- Solo 11- Rise of Skywalker
Loved this series and this episode! Here’s my list: 1. Empire Strikes Back 2. The Last Jedi 3. A New Hope 4. Return of the Jedi 5. The Phantom Menace 6. Rogue One 7. The Force Awakens 8. Revenge of the Sith 9. Rise of Skywalker 10. Solo 11. Attack of the Clones
For me it will be: 1. Empire Strikes Back 2. A New Hope 3. The Last Jedi 4. Return of the Jedi 5. The Force Awakens 6. Rogue One 7. Solo 8. Revenge of the Sith 9. Rise of Skywalker 10. The Phantom Menace 11. Attack of the Clones
Here’s my list… I enjoy all the Star Wars films, except for the last one… I’ll never forgive them for putting that animated film in theatres. 1. The Empire Strikes Back 2. Revenge Of The Sith 3. The Last Jedi 4. Return Of The Jedi 5. Rogue One 6. The Force Awakens 7. A New Hope 8. Solo 9. The Rise Of Skywalker 10. Attack Of The Clones 11. The Phantom Menace 12. The Clone Wars
@@arodz21 I guess most people don’t think of it as an official Star Wars film. More like a pilot for the series, which is why it shouldn’t have been played in theatres.
Enjoyment level: 1. Empire Strikes Back 2. A New Hope 3. The Last Jedi 4. The Force Awakens 5. Return of the Jedi 6. Revenge of the Sith 7. Solo 8. Rogue One 9. The Phantom Menace 10. The Rise of Skywalker 11. Attack of the Clones
Another great chat, guys! Appreciate the review of Dual of the Fates and the rankings. Here’s my personal ranking: 1. Empire 2. Sith 3. Jedi 4. Menace 5. Hope 6. Clones . . . . 7. TFA 8. TLJ 9. Solo 10. Rogue One 11. TRoS
Interesting Easter eggs here: 1. the parade song at the end of TPM is actually palpatine's theme, just happy, fast paced version. 2. The first line in star wars was from c-3po and the intended last line was from 3po
Great episode. I will check out the alternate Ep 9 story! 1. Empire Strikes Back 2. A New Hope 3. Return of the Jedi 4. Rogue One 5. Phantom Menace (hot take) 6. Revenge of the Sith 7. Force Awakens 8. Last Jedi 9. Solo 10. Attack of the Clones 11. Rise of Skywalker
My personal ranking of the Star Wars films 1) Empire Strikes Back (The best Star Wars movie & one of the best films of all time) 2) A New Hope (The film that change cinema & that still inspires film makers to this day) 3) Return of the Jedi (A great conclusion to the original trilogy) 4) Rogue One (Currently the best Star Wars film of the Disney Era featuring a great ensemble & a fantastic third act battle) 5) The Force Awakens (A fun adventure introducing a new generation to Star Wars while also bringing back some the classic characters) 6) Revenge of the Sith (The best film of the prequel trilogy) 7) The Phantom Menace (A enjoyable film that brought back/introduced a new generation to Star Wars) 8) The Last Jedi (Despite great performances from Adam Driver & Mark Hamill, & stunning cinematography; The Last Jedi ultimately didn’t work for me due to the humor, negating things set up in The Force Awakens, & the storylines of Poe/Holdo & especially Finn/Rose. I respect the people who like the movie, it just didn’t work for me) 9) Solo (Outside of Donald Glover as Lando, this was a movie that just felt empty to me. I’ll always wonder what could’ve been if Phil Lord & Chris Miller had stayed on) 10) Attack of the Clones (Ewan McGregor continues to shine as Obi-Wan; but Attack of the Clones overall is a poorly acted/written film featuring one of the worst romances ever in film history) 11) Rise of Skywalker (A disappointment in every way imaginable; Rise of Skywalker ends the sequel trilogy & overall nine film saga on a low note)
It is bizarre, as all the Canon between 2015-2018 had me wondering why Coruscant wasn’t being shown or talked about. And then we see Duel of the Fates was going to answer those questions.
I suspect the primary factors for Disney dropping this script was Carrie’s death as she has a lot of scenes and the CGI/set cost of using Coruscant so much.
Loved this episode! I'll just get right to my list. 1. Empire Strikes Back 2. A New Hope 3. Return of the Jedi 4. Rogue One (Gets better every time I watch it) 5. The Force Awakens (It used to be higher but I agree that it suffers because of the 2 movies that followed) 6. Revenge of the Sith 7. Solo (I just think this is a fun movie to watch) 8. Phantom Menace 9. Rise of Skywalker (This one doesn't age well with me. I'm with Steph. I really liked it at first but it hasn't held up for me) 10. Attack of the Clones 11. The Last Jedi (I'm with you, Kristian. Don't make me watch this again)
I agree with Rogue One! I loved it when it released, but slowly liked it a little less over time. But in the past year or so, I’ve come to like it again more and more. It really is tonally unique from the rest, and does a great job setting up a lot of what works in the new canon. Such an underrated aesthetic as well with all the new Stormtroopers it introduced.
@@MarsVee123 Han Solo making an appearance in Rise of Skywalker put it higher because I’m a Han Solo gal. The movie really is a mess but the first time I watched it it hit me with the feels.
I’d be really interested to see you guys each do a story pitch for the next story with the Sequel characters. I think it would would be a unique conversation, as many other channels just talk about how they’d rewrite everything. Thank you guys for yet another phenomenal episode!
Duel of the Fates comic adaptation is amazing. Loved this discussion! Can't wait to see your The Book of Boba Fett coverage!! Gotta think on my ranking.
1. A new hope 2. The last Jedi 3. Empire strikes back 4. Return of the Jedi 5. Force awakens 6. Rogue one 7. Rise of skywalker 8. Revenge of the sith 9. Solo 10. Phantom menace 11. Attack of the clones
I loved hearing all of your rankings! So interesting to hear where and why you placed these movies. Here is my current list ranked best to worst! 1) Empire Strikes Back 2) A New Hope 3) The Last Jedi 4) Return of the Jedi 5) Rise of Skywalker 6) Rogue One: A Star Wars Story 7) Revenge of the Sith 8) Force Awakens 9) Attack of the Clones 10) Phantom Menace 11) Solo: A Star Wars Story
@@TheKristianHarloff I actually read this script and loved it. Will definitely check out this comic. I had also read all the leaks coming out for episode 9 and couldn't believe the movie would be that bad and after having watched it I was mostly shocked it was just that bad and that all the leaks were true.
Great rewatch series. Here is mine! 1. Empire Strikes Back 2. A New Hope 3. The Last Jedi 4. Force Awakens 5. Return of the Jedi 6. Rise of Skywalker 7. Revenge of the Sith 8. Rogue One 9. Phantom Menace 10. Solo 11. Attack of the Clones
The list changes from day to day but as it is now: 1. The Last Jedi 2. Empire Strikes Back 3. Revenge of the Sith 4. Return of the Jedi 5. Solo 6. A New Hope 7. The Force Awakens 8. Rogue One 9. The Rise of Skywalker 10. Attack of the Clones 11.The Phantom Menace
Thank you Levi! As I was responding to a previous comment, it is ok to change your opinions after watching films, it makes us human! You shouldn't be criticized for having a different opinion on a film or changing how you felt about it. It is the beauty of it.
WhAt Is ShE pRoPoSiNg?! This series was so much fun, thank you my lords. Here’s my ranking :) 1 - Revenge of the Sith 2 - The Force Awakens 3 - Return of the Jedi 4 - The Rise of Skywalker 5 - The Empire Strikes Back 6 - Rogue One 7 - The Last Jedi 8 - A New Hope 9 - Solo 10 - Attack of the Clones 11 - The Phantom Menace I love all of these films so much and Duel of the Fates was amazing too. I think it could’ve been like my number 2 if it happened. I still love the whole sequel trilogy despite the flaws and let’s just celebrate star wars guys! Yeahh! And justice for Bor Gullet ;)
I was lucky enough to be 5 when phantom menace came out. So I grew up watching all of the OT and then diving into the prequels without having to wait for so long. 1. Revenge of the sith 2. Empire strikes back 3. Phantom menace 4. A new hope 5. Return of the Jedi 6. Solo 7. Attack of the clones 8. Rogue one 9. Force awakens 10. Rise of skywalker 11. The last Jedi
My favorite to last favorite: 1. The Force Awakens 2. Empire Strikes Back 3. A New Hope 4. The Last Jedi 5. The Rise of Skywalker 6. Rogue One 7. Return of The Jedi 8. The Clone Wars 9. Solo 10. Revenge of the Sith 11. Phantom Menace 12. Attack of the Clones
Thanks for linking the DOTF comic! Incredible stuff. My list: 1. Return of the Jedi 2. A New Hope 3. Empire Strikes Back 4. Revenge of the Sith 5. Attack of the Clones 6. Rogue One 7. Phantom Menace 8. Solo 9. Force Awakens 10. Rise of "Skywalker" Last Jedi doesn't make my list lol
I think the reason why we didn’t get something closer to this script was because the story group did not want Rey to focus on her darker side as a positive. It’s not very Disney and runs counter to everything that came before, except for TLJ which split the fan base. The idea of using anger in a positive way and even using force lightning as necessary probably made some executives uncomfortable. But it would’ve made for an awesome movie. It would’ve been daring and risky. Everything the Rise of Skywalker is not. At the end of TROS Rey embraces her light side by choosing her name. She is, essentially identifying against her darker side. In this comic though, she embraces it. It is a very postmodern film. TROS is stuck in modernity and the status quo. Still made a shit ton of money though. I’m paraphrasing, but, “ it doesn’t have to be a good movie, it just has to make money.” - Mark Hamill
All the love for this show. Harloff, it's great to see you so comfortable and happy in a show that's all yours (and Steph's and Mike's). Here's my current list, but I'm definitely due for a rewatch: 1. The Empire Strikes Back 2. A New Hope 3. The Force Awakens 4. Solo 5. Return of the Jedi 6. Revenge of the Sith 7. Rogue One 8. The Rise of Skywalker 9. The Last Jedi 10. The Phantom Menace 11. Attack of the Clones
15. Holiday Special 14. Caravan of Courage 13. Rise of Skywalker 12. Battle for Endor 11. The Clone Wars film 10. Attack of the Clones 9. Solo 8. Phantom Menace 7. Empire Strikes Back 6. Rogue One 5. Revenge of the Sith 4. The Last Jedi 3. The Force Awakens 2. A New Hope 1. Return of the Jedi
Definitely going to check out the Duel Of Fates comic. Anyways, my list: 11. Rise of Skywalker 10. Revenge of the Sith 9. Solo 8. Attack of the Clones 7. The Last Jedi 6. The Phantom Menace 5. The Force Awakens 4. Rogue One 3. A New Hope 2. Empire Strikes Back 1. Return of the Jedi
1. A New Hope 2. The Last Jedi 3. The Phantom Menace 4. Return of the Jedi 5. Empire Strikes Back 6. Rogue One 7. Force Awakens 8. Revenge of the Sith 9. Solo 10. Attack of the Clones 11. Rise of Skywalker Honourable mention to Mandalorian and TV, Mando would be right up with there with ANH in the list.
11. The Last Jedi 10. Solo 09. The Rise of Skywalker 08. The Force Awakens 07. Rogue One 06. Attack of the Clones 05. Return of the Jedi 04. The Phantom Menace 03. The Empire Strikes Back 02. Star Wars 01. Revenge of the Sith Thank you! I have watched all of your episodes. Cheers!
1. Empire 2. A New Hope 3. Return of the Jedi 4. Rogue One 5. Revenge of the Sith 6. Phantom Menace 7. Solo 8. Attack of the Clones 9. Force Awakens 10. Rise of Skywalker 11. The Last Jedi I did not expect Force Awakens and Rise of Skywalker to drop this low for me especially under Solo, Phantom Menace, and Attack of the Clones. When I think about it, there’s no meat and potatoes in the sequels. With Last Jedi, it felt like they put a plate of plastic food in front of you and called it meat and potatoes. It’s hollow and very hard to eat because it just does not taste good. You guys are right about Rogue One. It gets much better upon rewatch. I love how it feels like a war film and how there are stakes and consequences. Also, Jyn Erso give some great speeches. It’s a really good movie. With the Prequels, sure there’s some bad acting and bad dialogue and bad direction. But they are fun and they expand on the lore of Star Wars with the politics and different characters and story arcs. Solo is fun. Return and A New Hope are almost interchangeable for me but there’s more that I love about A New Hope than Return. Empire has always held my number one spot. There’s something about it that’s so mesmerizing. It’s my definition of a perfect movie. It’s not only my favorite Star Wars movie but it’s my all-time favorite movie.
After Force Awakens, I was excited for two years. I read everything I could get my hands on and listened to countless speculation videos, including many of yours. The movie was beautifully crafted, the mysteries were intriguing, and I loved the new characters. I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen and how it all connected to the lore and the story as a whole. In contrast, I walked out of the theatre after seeing Last Jedi and thought “I don’t really care what happens next.” I was not excited for Solo or Rise of Skywalker. The movie completely killed my enthusiasm. It’s not a critique of how well the movie was made. It just didn’t give me what I was looking for out of Star Wars. However, the recent and upcoming material is getting me excited again. It’s too bad we’ll never get to see Duel of the Fates. This may have tied it all together and saved the sequel trilogy for me. Here’s my list… 1. Return of the Jedi/Empire Strikes Back 2. Star Wars 3. The Force Awakens/Revenge of the Sith 4. Rogue One 5. The Phantom Menace/Attack of the Clones 6. Rise of Skywalker 7. The Last Jedi/Solo
Definitely would have preferred this to Rise of Skywalker. It's not perfect, but the foundation was there. With a couple more drafts and revisions it could have been an amazing conclusion to the series. Then JJ Abrams comes along and ruins everything with his usual lack of creativity.
The person who originally leaked the script said that there was a second draft, but it wasn’t the right time to release it. If this is true, I’d be very curious to see how much evolved in it.
Here’s my list: 1. A New Hope (entry to the saga, special feeling as a kid to discover it) 2. Return of the Jedi (Luke becomes Jedi. Throne room scene, redemption of Vader, green lightsaber) 3. Empire Strikes Back (acutally the best overall movie, but I'm all for Jedi lore) 4. Revenge of the Sith (Republic era, Jedis, Obi/McGregor) 5. The Phantom Menace (Republic era, Jedi hayday, Neeson/Qui-Gon, awesome quotes) 6. Rogue One (Vader hallway, link to ANH) 7. Attack of the Clones (worst prequel, but Obi/McGregor) 8. The Force Awakens (nope) 9. The Last Jedi (noper) 10. Solo (I don't even care about this movie..) 11. Rise of Skywalker (nopest)
As a kid that was 9 when TPM came out, and growing up without a father figure, I've always felt a strong attachment to Qui-Gon. He is the holy grail of Jedis for me, and the one I hope for the most to return. Liam Neeson is an epic actor, and gives me chills.
Here’s my list: 1. Empire 2. Return of the Jedi 3. The Last Jedi 4. The Force Awakens 5. A New Hope 6. Revenge of the Sith 7. The Rise of Skywalker 8. The Phantom Menace 9. Attack of the Clones
1. Return of the Jedi (thanks for repping us, Steph!) 2. The Empire Strikes Back 3. A New Hope 4. Revenge of the Sith 5. Rogue One 6. The Phantom Menace 7. Attack of the Clones 8. The Rise of Skywalker 9. The Force Awakens 10. Solo 11. The Last Jedi
1. Empire Strikes Back (Idek what else I have to say about this. It’s just simply one of the best movies ever made aside from this franchise) 2. Force Awakens (nothing can capture the excitement I had watching this in the theater. They brilliantly brought the franchise back and hooked me with a fantastic cliffhanger) 3. Return of the Jedi (undeniably one of the greatest endings to a movie/franchise. The stuff with Luke Vader and the Emperor is the best dialogue and events in all of Star Wars) 4. Revenge of the Sith (very corny with some rough acting and dialogue, but I really feel the stakes of this movie of the fallen chosen one and the third act is amazing to me) 5. A New Hope (changed movies forever and undeniably one of the greats, but I just enjoy the other ones more) 6. The Last Jedi (I don’t hate this. If episode 9 landed, I think this would be much higher on people’s lists) 7. Rogue One (has one of the best scenes in Star Wars history with an undeniably amazing third act, but the rest of the movie is very boring to me) 8. Solo (again has its good and awful. But the idea of Qira making Han this untrusting smuggler angle is actually really interesting to me) 9. Phantom Menace (has its good, has its awful) 10. Rise of Skywalker (whoever switched out what could’ve been a great Duel of the Fates movie with this Endgame wannabe should be arrested) 11. Attack of the Clones (this is just tough to sit through, I don’t get the new love it’s finding. Maybe cuz I haven’t seen clone wars)
1. Empire (Perfect) 2. Mando (Could be perfect in quality, does have perfect SW) 3. Star Wars (Iconic, perfect SW) 4. Force Awakens (perfect SW) 5. Return of the Jedi (classic) 6. Revenge of the Sith (Tonally different) 7. Phantom Menace (nostalgia) 8. Rogue One (love it) 9. Rise of Skywalker (so much fun) 10. Attack of the Clones (made me a man) 11. Solo (fun and different) 12. Last Jedi (decent)
I wasn't a huge Star Wars fan as a kid, Phantom Menace was the first one i saw in the theater and i fell in love with it.. i just love everything about it. The prequels are my favorite in general, i just enjoy the story, the action, the characters and the music more... maybe cause i grew up with it, that stuff is "my" Star Wars. I couldn't believe when years later i found out how much those movies were hated on the internet LOL So, i don't know if my list is the weirdest one yet but hey, it's mine! :D 1. The Phantom Menace 2. Attack of the Clones 3. Revenge of the Sith 4. A New Hope 5. Empire Strikes Back 6. The Force Awakens 7. Rogue One 8. Return of the Jedi 9. The Last Jedi 10. The Rise of Skywalker 11. Solo P.S. I wanna just point out that i'm italian so i grew up with the italian version of those movies, so maybe the italian version of the prequels are better than the originals, cause some of the voice actors are really amazing, for example the italian voice actor for Hayden Christensen is the same guy that dub Leonardo Di Caprio and is VERY good. Of course the script is the same but, maybe is better acted.
I tried to make a list, but it was just too difficult. If any Star Wars movie happens to be in TV whilst I'm flicking through the channels, I'll end up watching it to the end.
My rank 1- empire 2- Star Wars 3- Jedi 4- Sith 5- rogue one 6- phantom menace 7- rise of Skywalker 8- solo 9- attack of the clones 10- clone wars 11- the last Jedi 12- the force awakens
I don't think Duel of the Fates was supposed to film in 2016, especially since Trevorrow turned in a draft of the script the week before Carrie Fisher passed away. The month after that I think Lucasfilm hired the Cursed Child writer to punch it up, and then the whole timeline is a mess in my head. There were a bunch of writers coming and going before Trevorrow ultimately left, and then J.J. was announced in September 2017.
TLJ is a very well-directed movie. The problem with it is 100% with the script and story. But everything else about it, the cinematography, the production design, the aesthetic, the performances, the music- it's all really good.
So that story of Trevorrow telling Daisy Ridley about the script and she ran out crying,....what part made her do that in the script? Was it a good cry like it made her so emotional?
I think I've said this in previous comments during the SW re-watches, but it never made sense to me that "Rey was a no one" was such a big deal or even something for fans to latch on to. As far as I know, Kenobi didn't come from a powerful line of Force users. Neither Yoda nor Windu nor Ki-Adi-Mundi, Plo Koon or Dooku or Yaddle or whoever. You know who I have to go back to to remember some lineage? Bastila and Satele Shan and they're separated by generations and no longer even canon. I'm sure someone out there will correct me about some of these, but the notion of a Jedi not coming from a powerful 'bloodline' was *the* norm, not some wondrous exception.
While Duel of the Fates ties into more of the Expanded EU lore. I think i prefer having the heroes all together going on an adventure. Ranking the films: Star Wars to me was always epic, swashbuckling and romantic so... 1. Star Wars 2. Empire 3. Solo 4. Phantom Menace 5. Rise of Skywalker 6. Revenge of the Sith 7. Attack of the Clones 8. Force Awakens 9. Return of the Jedi 10. Rogue one 11. Last Jedi

The Last Jedi 10. Rogue One/Rise of Skywalker (can’t separate them, I really hate both equally haha)
1. Revenge of the Sith 2. Return of the Jedi 3. Attack of the Clones 4. The Phantom Menace 5. Empire Strikes Back 6. Rogue One 7. A New Hope 8. Solo 9-10. The Force Awakens & Rise of Skywalker 11. Love Sith Council. The rewatch series is great. I work nights and , so I listen to a lot of podcasts while working. Definitely gonna read Duel of The Fates. 1. Return of The Jedi 2. Empire Strikes Back 3. A New Hope 4. Rogue One 5. The Force Awakens 6. Revenge of The Sith 7. The Phantom Menace 8. Attack of The Clones 9. The Rise of Skywalker 10. The Last Jedi 11. Solo
My personal list and I do enjoy all of these movies as I love some more than others but will watch all of them! 1. Revenge of the Sith 2. Return of the Jedi 3. Rogue One 4. Force Awakens 5. Empire strikes back 6. New Hope 7. Solo 8. The Phantom menace 9. The Last Jedi 10. Attack of the Clones 11. Rise of Skywalker
As an OT fan (and I mean as someone who watched them when they came out as a kid, starting in 1977) my list (and this isn't "best" film, but will re-watch first/got most enjoyment from): 1 ROTJ 2: ANH 3: ESB 4. ROS 5. AOTC 6. TPM 7. RO 8. Solo 9. TFA 10. TROS 11. TLJ
Also, I fully believe Rose was not written out of Rise of Skywalker, but edited out. I think the movie they shot was very different from the final version. But that's just my wild theory
@@TheKristianHarloff she did have a couple of scenes in the trailer that never made it into the movie. And rumor has it that there was a lot of turmoil while editing Rise of Skywalker. I'm not the biggest fan of that movie and I agree with you, I wish both Rose and Finn had a lot more to do in it. Great episode guys!
Great video! The more I revisit Trevorrow’s script and concept art the more disappointed I get because for me at least it’s so much more superior than TROS which I can’t even sit through anymore. Also here’s my list: 1. ESB 2. RotJ 3. ANH 4. RotS 5. R1 6. TPM 7. TLJ 8. AotC 9. TFA 10. Solo GAP 11. TCW MASSIVE GAP 12. TROS
I loved the Duel of the Fates story. It was so much better then the Rise of Skywalker and tied everything together. Even though I wasn’t a Last Jedi fan, I like that this story at least makes the story throughout the trilogy coherent. How the trilogy ended up feels like a Frankenstein mismatch of parts that don’t make sense. I agree with you Kristian, I would’ve been fine with a Leia recasting but I get why they didn’t. I loved the Kylo/Vader scene as well as Luke haunting Kylo and still teaching Rey. Luke repeating Obi-Wan’s teachings from a New Hope was fantastic. I also loved that Obi-Wan and Yoda got to show up as force ghosts and it worked. Most importantly though, Kylo wasn’t fully redeemed but was in a way that didn’t cheapen or ruin Anakin’s story. I’d love to see this story as a graphic novel or ideally, an animated What If Star Wars movie. Here are my rankings: 1. A New Hope. It’s just so enjoyable to me from Obi-Wan, Han, Luke, Vader, Leia, there’s not a bad moment in the film and the story is so rich. 2. Empire Strikes Back. Pretty much the same thing as a New Hope along with killer twists and character development. 3. Revenge of The Sith. Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christiansen are both fantastic in this movie and the story is so good. It says something that even though I know how it ends, I keep rooting for Anakin to not turn to the dark side. 4. Return of The Jedi. A perfect ending to a perfect trilogy. It hit all of the beats it needed to perfectly and everything, aside from some of the Ewok stuff, worked for me. 5. Rogue One. This movie keeps getting better over time. It’s such a solid enjoyable movie, all of the characters are great and the back half of this movie is fantastic. 6. Phantom Menace. Just a fun movie and was the first Star Wars movie I saw. I remember being in Radio Shack as a kid, watching the podrace scene and Obi-Wan & Qui-Gon fight droids and thinking how awesome it was and that I needed to see the whole movie. 7. Force Awakens. Solid movie and definitely enjoyable with great characters but with how the overall story turned out, it’s fallen a bit for me. I also wasn’t thrilled from the beginning how it felt beat for beat like remake of A New Hope with some slight differences. 8. Attack of The Clones. Terrible dialogue for sure but the Obi-Wan detective story is fantastic, the second half of the movie is so entertaining and the story completely captured me. Just sloppy execution, which I can get past. 9. Solo. Definitely a lot more fun then I remembered. Most of the characters were fun and the overall story was fine but I didn’t buy into the Alden casting completely. There’s moments where he has a bit of Han in him, but not enough. I think with a better casting, this movie might be higher. 10. Rise of Skywalker. Complete cotton candy movie. A lot of the story makes no sense but some of the characters are still entertaining and enjoyable to watch. 11. Last Jedi - A gorgeous movie but the story was brutal. I did not like the story at all, especially Luke’s story. It was just painful at times. The Ben Solo - Rey stuff really works but aside from that, the movie is just not fun.
Thanks for the comic insight, I look forward to reading! Here’s my enjoyment list: (context) I was born in the mid 90s. 1. A New Hope 2. The Empire Strikes Back 3. The Last Jedi 4. Attack of the Clones 5. Rogue One 6. Rise of Skywalker 7. The Force Awakens 8. Revenge of the Sith 9. The Phantom Menace 10. Solo 11. Return of the Jedi If I had to make a list for best crafted film and remove the my inner fan, my top 5 would go: 1. The Empire Strikes Back 2. The Last Jedi 3. The Force Awakens 4. A New Hope 5. Solo
Now I haven't read the comic, but the way you three describe it, it sounds pretty dark. So I'm wondering if it was TOO dark to be a Star Wars movie? Some of the movies have been dark, or elements are quite dark, so I suppose it would come down to the execution.
On reflection I have one more thing to add - regarding rumours about conflict between Rian Johnson and JJ Abrams. People forget that JJ Abrams was the executive producer of the Last Jedi. He had full access to the script well before shooting started. It was his job to veto stuff that did not make sense in larger context. From this fact alone we can narrow down what happened between Rian and JJ. These are possibilities: 1) JJ did not do his job and was blindsided by Rian (not likely since JJ is rmoured to be a hard worker, and he does care about Star Wars); 2) JJ was told to shut up and accept everything that Rian came up with (not likely to be true after success of TFA); 3) JJ really and genuinely liked Rian's script. If we assume option 3 is correct one then why TROS is so inconsistent with TLJ? In my opinion there are two reasons for it: 1) JJ is director that always frets over opinion of the audience so he was (too) eager to please fans that criticised TLJ and he overcorrected 2) He really had much less time to come up with TROS - Trevorrow provided draft of his screenplay by December 2017. JJ had to scramble to get the resources and ideas he needed, famously changing script multiple times during shooting, which is sadly impacted the final product negatively. Also, JJ did not really want to do part 3 - he was convinced to do so by his wife. Source: www.indiewire.com/2019/04/j-j-abrams-star-wars-episode-ix-fears-directing-1202057230 IMO, the rumored conflict between the two directors is just overdramatisation on the part of audiences who set themselves firmly in antagonistic camps. I think the reality is more boring: a sequence of errors on their part and the fact that Disney simply did not appreciate the effort required to create those movies and set impossible timelines for the directors, especially for JJ with TROS.
@@TheKristianHarloff In that case could you point me to the source (interview -prefereably full interview - or even some rumours)? I am sceptical because I saw how many people used cut, manipulated interviews with Mark Hamill to rile people up against TLJ, when if you watch the full thing you get a different impression. To me the whole "JJ hated Rian's script" seems to be similar fake news. But who knows?
TL;DR: The Empire Strikes Back, A New Hope, Rogue One, Return of the Jedi, The Force Awakens, Solo, The Rise of Skywalker, Revenge of the Sith, The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, The Last Jedi 1. The Empire Strikes Back (In the running for most beautiful sci-fi movie ever made; great direction and music; makes the Force even more magical and interesting) 2. A New Hope (The ultimate start of the hero's journey on film, imho; incredible effects and movie-making magic) 3. Rogue One (Some incredible sequences; interesting to see another "Force-cult"; an interesting change in tone and focus) 4. Return of the Jedi (Some pretty cheesy moments, to be honest, but the whole sequence on the second Death Star is incredible) 5. The Force Awakens (Derivative? Certainly. But it's also fun, joyous, and a reminder of what I loved about the OT) 6. Solo (A fun story. Doesn't really add much to the mythos/galaxy, but it didn't really need to; some things can just be fun, right?) 7. The Rise of Skywalker (I don't dislike this movie. I see and acknowledge all the problems with it, but with Carrie's passing and the previous installment, they were dealt a near impossible hand) 8. Revenge of the Sith (The CGI was getting a bit more tolerable by this point, and the story is fantastic. The execution still isn't great, showing that George is at his best as an ideas guy and a shepherd) 9. The Phantom Menace (I still remember seeing it in the theaters as a teenager, thinking "This is what we've waited for?" It was a big let-down at the time, and some narrative and stylistic choices were really bad, imho. But it also expanded the lore/mythos/galaxy, had an incredible lightsaber duel with sublime music, and set up the Machiavellian rise of Palpatine. Like the other PT films, I think it's an excellent rough draft; they just needed someone else to come in and fix the script, and they needed a different director.) 10. Attack of the Clones (Pretty cringey. It almost seemed like George took the criticism from TPM and leaned into it even more.) 11. The Last Jedi (Personally speaking, this is the most disappointing film I've ever seen. I'll never understanding how Disney/LFL okayed this after hyping Luke's return so much in TFA. Who in their right mind would think of this story as a satisfying pay-off? It has some well-directed and shot sequences, and the class commentary is perhaps the best in any Star Wars film, but that's about all that I can say positively about it. TLJ is often lauded as being "wildly inventive," though it is also quite derivative of ESB, and much of the film is, narratively speaking, pointless. It's also in the running for the most racist Star Wars film - see #StarWarsHatesPOC on Twitter. It's the only Disney-era Star Wars films that I only saw once in the theater; I then rewatched it with the director's commentary, just to see if maybe my initial reaction was too knee-jerk, but it only confirmed to me that RJ does not even remotely understand what Star Wars is or should be. The joy and magic of the ST was entirely absent from this pompous love-letter to RJ's own ego, and most of the flaws in TROS can be directly tied to this entry. I see it as the anti-ESB. While ESB fleshed out the world and raised the stakes in a way that set up great potential for the final installment of the trilogy, TLJ makes an absolute mess of the set up from TFA; it doesn't pick up on the most promising elements from the first film, and instead pivots to unpleasant and pointless tedium. A truly abysmal film.)
My list from least enjoyable to most: #11 The Rise of Skywalker #10 The Last Jedi #9 Solo #8 Attack of the Clones #7 A New Hope #6 The Force Awakens #5 The Phantom Menace #4 Rogue One #3 Return of The Jedi #2 Revenge of the Sith #1 The Empire Strikes Back It kinda feels like sacrilege having Phantom Menace so high up and A New Hope so close to the bottom, but I have to be honest with the experience I have had with the movies recently. I definitely believe if Duel of the Fates had come out instead of Rise of Skywalker, I would enjoy Last Jedi and Force Awakens a lot more because of how well it ties everything together.
1. Empire 2. Last Jedi 3. A New Hope 4. Return of the Jedi 5. Rogue One 6. Revenge of the Sith 7. Force Awakens 8. Solo 9. Phantom Menace 10. Attack of the Clones 11. Rise of Skywalker
Definitely gonna read that comic this weekend!! My list: Empire New Hope Force Awakens Last Jedi Return of the Jedi Revenge of the Sith Rogue One Rise of Skywalker Solo Phantom Menace Attack of the Clones I find enjoyment in every single one of them, even the ones at the bottom of the list. Best part about Star Wars!
1. Rogue one 2. Return of the Jedi (was the one I saw the most as a kid) 3. Empire strikes back 4. Phantom Menace (for three scenes alone. The intro, the podrace, and the duel of fates.) 5. A new hope +(Duel of fates potentially?) 6. Force Awakens 7. Attack of the Clones. (Colliseum to credits is fantastic) 8. Last Jedi 9. Revenge of the Sith 10. Solo 11. Rise of Skywalker I can only watch the sequels as stand alone films. There is only 10 minutes in rise of skywalker that is even watchable right in the middle. Thats Rey vs Kylo up until he talks to memory Han and tosses the saber. If 9 was just that as a short film I might have even put it higher.
1 - Empire Strikes Back 2 - Return of the Jedi 3 - Attack of the Clones 4 - Phantom Menace 5 - A New Hope 6 - Revenge if the Sith 7 - The Force Awakens 8 - The Last Jedi 9 - Rise of Skywalker 10 - Rogue One 11 - Solo
Yes , Attack of the Clones is in my top 3 .. huge fan of all the Kamino scenes , Jango and young Boba , Coruscant night life , and lots of lightsaber action . To me it’s just live action Clone Wars and I can’t enough
My list, just for the hell of it, also from last to first: The Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker are tied in last place for me, then is Attack of the Clones, The Phantom Menace, Solo, Revenge of the Sith, The Force Awakens, Rogue One, A New Hope, Return of the Jedi, and Empire Strikes Back. I really, really love Rogue One, though, so it's pretty much tied with A New Hope for 3rd, I think.
I do wish people would stop saying Duel of the Fates was going to be the movie we would've gotten. The Duel of the Fates script that was released was a draft...maybe a final draft for Trevorrow but Carrie Fisher's death turned it into a draft that needed reworking. Who knows exactly what happened with Trevorrow, maybe Book of Henry stuff, maybe he couldn't figure out how to handle Leia, maybe he just listed Leia's death in the opening scroll. Who really knows except the people directly involved. It's just a piece of fan fiction at this point.
Here is my list based on enjoyment from watching: 1 - The Empire Strikes Back 2 - Return of the Jedi 3 - A New Hope 4 - The Force Awakens ( I saw this 4 times in theatre and many more at home. I like this movie for what it is. I liked the set up of these new characters and story, but was so disappointed about where things went after this film) 5 - Attack of the Clones (I watched this 6 times in the theatre when it came out, I was 12. This movie has brutal dialogue and acting, but I loved Jango Fett, Slave 1 dogfight, Coruscant speeder chase, Genosis arena/Jedi going into battle, Kamino, the Clones, Yoda lightsaber fight, etc. And this spun off some of my favourite childhood games Bounty Hunter, Battlefront, and The Clone Wars. Was a big time in my life for Star Wars and even though I think it's the worst of the prequels, I still like it the most out of the three lol) 6 - The Phantom Menace (This came out when I was 9. And maybe it is nostalgia, but I like this more than a bunch of the other movies. Qui Gon, the Pod Race, Darth Maul, Naboo, Coruscant, seeing the Jedi council, young Obi Wan, going back to Tatooine, Duel of the Fates end lightsaber battle. 7 - Revenge of the Sith (This is better quality than PM and AOTC, and even though I know the story has to go this way, I hate that the bad guys win. Brings me down lol) 8 - Rogue One (Only watched 4 times all the way through.) 9 - Solo (Only watched 3 times all the way through.) 10 - The Last Jedi (Only watched this 4 times all the way through.) 11 - The Rise of Skywalker (Only watched 2 times all the way trough. This movie is just brutal for me. Such a mess that just doesn't really make any sense at all. I really do dislike everything about this movie even more so then The Last Jedi.)
I don't agree with all of Mike's list, but I do love Rogue One about as much as he does. Right now I would put it 4th after the whole OT, like Kristian, but MAYBE it could one day jump up above one of them to be number 3. I do love that film more every time I see it.
Love: 1 Return Of The Jedi 2 Empire Strikes Back 3 A New Hope 4 Rogue One 5 Attack Of The Clones 6 The Phantom Menace Really enjoy: 7 Revenge Of The Sith 8 Solo 9 The Force Awakens Good: 10 Last Jedi Why you do this to me: 11 Rise of Skywalker
1. Revenge of the Sith (also coolest title) 2. Phantom Menace 3. A New Hope 4. Empire 5. Attack of the clones 6. Return of jedi 7. Solo 8. Rouge One 9. Rise of Skywalker 10. Force awakens 11. Last jedi
I usually don't do rankings of movies, but if anyone is interested in how I'd rank them by the best and of enjoyment, here you go. BEST: 1. The Empire Strikes Back 2. A New Hope 3. Return of the Jedi 4. The Last Jedi 5. The Force Awakens 6. Revenge of the Sith 7. Rogue One 8. Solo 9. The Rise of Skywalker 10. The Phantom Menace 11. Attack of the Clones ENJOYMENT: 1. The Empire Strikes Back 2. A New Hope 3. Return of the Jedi 4. Revenge of the Sith 5. The Last Jedi 6. The Force Awakens 7. The Phantom Menace 8. Attack of the Clones 9. The Rise of Skywalker 10. Rogue One 11. Solo
Ultimately, I think Kennedy was too afraid of the backlash if they recast Leia -- 99.9% of the fanbase was adamant that they NOT replace Carrie Fisher. The only TH-camr I recall saying they should was John Campea (and people constantly gave him crap for saying that). However, after reading Duel of the Fates, it's clear that Kennedy should have stuck to her guns and recast Leia. One of Carrie Fisher's best friends was Meryl Streep... can you imagine if they got Streep to play Leia in Ep9???
Ok, here goes. My list of my favourite movies 1. A New Hope 2. Empire Strikes Back 3. Rogue One 4. Force Awakens 5. Revenge of the Sith 6. Return of the Jedi 7. Solo 8. Rise of Skywalker 9. Phantom Menace 10. The Last Jedi 11. Attack of the Clones

I'm in the middle of my personal rewatch of the series now. I'm up to Solo. My opinion could change, but I'm not sure that it will. Also, Duel of the Fates is probably going to be one of those movies that I'm going to wish was real all the time. That script was brilliant.
Thank you!

Appreciate that Gold Man!
The Duel of the Fates story was ultimately a better story for a final chapter in this trilogy. Execution could’ve been another story, but I feel if they used more of the script’s plot, JJ could’ve even directed it pretty well. The best thing is that it does all the new characters justice in a way that they deserved.
True
I've thought about that actually, JJ should've just directed Trevorrow's script. Dunno why they threw the whole thing out
@@ZachBobBob JJ is a solid director and can direct actors to great performances. I feel like Kelly would’ve killed this script in particular.
Yess been excited to hearing u guys talk about this, happy to have sent it to you Kristian
So glad you did!
My Rankings from favorite to least would be:
1) ROTJ
2)TESB
3) ANH
4) ROTS

My personal ranking of the Star Wars films
1) Empire Strikes Back (The best Star Wars movie & one of the best films of all time)
2) A New Hope (The film that change cinema & that still inspires film makers to this day)
3) Return of the Jedi (A great conclusion to the original trilogy)
4) Rogue One (Currently the best Star Wars film of the Disney Era featuring a great ensemble & a fantastic third act battle)
5) The Force Awakens (A fun adventure introducing a new generation to Star Wars while also bringing back some the classic characters)
6) Revenge of the Sith (The best film of the prequel trilogy)
7) The Phantom Menace (A enjoyable film that brought back/introduced a new generation to Star Wars)
8) The Last Jedi (Despite great performances from Adam Driver & Mark Hamill, & stunning cinematography; The Last Jedi ultimately didn’t work for me due to the humor, negating things set up in The Force Awakens, & the storylines of Poe/Holdo & especially Finn/Rose. I respect the people who like the movie, it just didn’t work for me)
9) Solo (Outside of Donald Glover as Lando, this was a movie that just felt empty to me. I’ll always wonder what could’ve been if Phil Lord & Chris Miller had stayed on)
10) Attack of the Clones (Ewan McGregor continues to shine as Obi-Wan; but Attack of the Clones overall is a poorly acted/written film featuring one of the worst romances ever in film history)
11) Rise of Skywalker (A disappointment in every way imaginable; Rise of Skywalker ends the sequel trilogy & overall nine film saga on a low note)
Thanks Sam!
It is bizarre, as all the Canon between 2015-2018 had me wondering why Coruscant wasn’t being shown or talked about.
And then we see Duel of the Fates was going to answer those questions.
Yup
Aftermath trilogy gives us plenty of insight into Coruscant. “All canon.”
I suspect the primary factors for Disney dropping this script was Carrie’s death as she has a lot of scenes and the CGI/set cost of using Coruscant so much.
Probably.
have you watched Camp Cretaceous on Netflix?? Trevorrow n crew have done amazing job on this series

6. Rogue One
7. Phantom Menace
8. Solo
9. Force Awakens

Last Jedi doesn't make my list lol
So 11 then?
@@jarednavarrete1740 I got zero enjoyment from Last Jedi so it can't even be in Last place
Glad you checked out the comic!
Yeah i like that though
All the love for this show. Harloff, it's great to see you so comfortable and happy in a show that's all yours (and Steph's and Mike's). Here's my current list, but I'm definitely due for a rewatch:

6. Phantom Menace
7. Solo
8. Attack of the Clones
9. Force Awakens
10. Rise of Skywalker
11. The Last Jedi
I did not expect Force Awakens and Rise of Skywalker to drop this low for me especially under Solo, Phantom Menace, and Attack of the Clones.
Thank you
After Force Awakens, I was excited for two years. Here’s my list…
1. Return of the Jedi/Empire Strikes Back
2. Star Wars
3. The Force Awakens/Revenge of the Sith
4. Rogue One
5. The Phantom Menace/Attack of the Clones
6. Rise of Skywalker
Same here, did you check out the comic book?
The person who originally leaked the script said that there was a second draft, but it wasn’t the right time to release it.
If this is true, I’d be very curious to see how much evolved in it.
Here’s my list:
1. A New Hope (entry to the saga, special feeling as a kid to discover it)
2. Return of the Jedi (Luke becomes Jedi. Throne room scene, redemption of Vader, green lightsaber)
3. Empire Strikes Back (acutally the best overall movie, but I'm all for Jedi lore)
4. Revenge of the Sith (Republic era, Jedis, Obi/McGregor)
5. The Phantom Menace (Republic era, Jedi hayday, Neeson/Qui-Gon, awesome quotes)
6. Rogue One (Vader hallway, link to ANH)
7. Attack of the Clones (worst prequel, but Obi/McGregor)
8. The Force Awakens (nope)
9. The Last Jedi (noper)
10. Solo (I don't even care about this movie..)
Great list!
Here’s my list:
1. Empire
2. Return of the Jedi
3. The Last Jedi
4. The Force Awakens
5. A New Hope
6. Revenge of the Sith
7. The Rise of Skywalker
8. The Phantom Menace
9. Attack of the Clones
Love it!
I would very much like a Big Thing with Mike talking No Time To Die and Bond!
Might have to do that!
1. Return of the Jedi (thanks for repping us, Steph!)
2. The Empire Strikes Back
3. A New Hope
4. Revenge of the Sith
5. Rogue One
6. The Phantom Menace
7. Attack of the Clones
8. The Rise of Skywalker
9. The Force Awakens
10. Solo
11. The Last Jedi
Thanks for the list!
@harloff, Again, continued great stuff lately with this series. Are you going to do recaps for each new tv series when they hit?
Thank you! And yes we will!
Star wars infinities by Dark Horse were awesome especially Return of the Jedi one with that ending!
Yeah for sure
1. Empire Strikes Back (Idek what else I have to say about this. It’s just simply one of the best movies ever made aside from this franchise)
2. Force Awakens (nothing can capture the excitement I had watching this in the theater. They brilliantly brought the franchise back and hooked me with a fantastic cliffhanger)
3. Return of the Jedi (undeniably one of the greatest endings to a movie/franchise. The stuff with Luke Vader and the Emperor is the best dialogue and events in all of Star Wars)
4. Revenge of the Sith (very corny with some rough acting and dialogue, but I really feel the stakes of this movie of the fallen chosen one and the third act is amazing to me)
5. A New Hope (changed movies forever and undeniably one of the greats, but I just enjoy the other ones more)
6. The Last Jedi (I don’t hate this. If episode 9 landed, I think this would be much higher on people’s lists)
7. Rogue One (has one of the best scenes in Star Wars history with an undeniably amazing third act, but the rest of the movie is very boring to me)
8. Solo (again has its good and awful. But the idea of Qira making Han this untrusting smuggler angle is actually really interesting to me)
9. Phantom Menace (has its good, has its awful)
10. Rise of Skywalker (whoever switched out what could’ve been a great Duel of the Fates movie with this Endgame wannabe should be arrested)
11. Attack of the Clones (this is just tough to sit through, I don’t get the new love it’s finding. Maybe cuz I haven’t seen clone wars)
Thank you Tom
I understand and like all those top choice for each of your favorite Star Wars movies 😊👍.
Thank you!!
1. Empire (Perfect)
2. Mando (Could be perfect in quality, does have perfect SW)
3. Star Wars (Iconic, perfect SW)
4. Force Awakens (perfect SW)
5. Return of the Jedi (classic)
6. Revenge of the Sith (Tonally different)
7. Phantom Menace (nostalgia)
8. Rogue One (love it)
9. Rise of Skywalker (so much fun)
10. Attack of the Clones (made me a man)
11. Solo (fun and different)
12. Last Jedi (decent)
Good list!
I couldn't believe when years later i found out how much those movies were hated on the internet LOL
So, i don't know if my list is the weirdest one yet but hey, it's mine! :D
1. The Phantom Menace
2.
Attack of the Clones
3. Revenge of the Sith
4. A New Hope
5. Empire Strikes Back
6. The Force Awakens
7. Rogue One
8. Return of the Jedi
9. The Last Jedi
10. The Rise of Skywalker
11. Solo
Thank you for sharing!
I tried to make a list, but it was just too difficult. If any Star Wars movie happens to be in TV whilst I'm flicking through the channels, I'll end up watching it to the end.
Fair!
My rank
1- empire
2- Star Wars
3- Jedi
4- Sith
5- rogue one
6- phantom menace
7- rise of Skywalker
8- solo
9- attack of the clones
10- clone wars
11- the last Jedi
12- the force awakens
Nice ranking!
I agree with you, 2016 didn't sound right to me either.
TLJ is a very well-directed movie. The problem with it is 100% with the script and story. But everything else about it, the cinematography, the production design, the aesthetic, the performances, the music- it's all really good.
Yup
So that story of Trevorrow telling Daisy Ridley about the script and she ran out crying,....what part made her do that in the script? Was it a good cry like it made her so emotional?
Hmm I wonder
Steph looks like she's about to go club hopping after she gets done with this episode.
Haha she got style.
Looking great today Steph!
And me and Mike?!?!?!?!
@@TheKristianHarloff you looked, delicious mate!
Kenobi angle I liked also, I just liked how they made the nobody angle make sense in this comic
While Duel of the Fates ties into more of the Expanded EU lore. I think i prefer having the heroes all together going on an adventure.

As an OT fan (and I mean as someone who watched them when they came out as a kid, starting in 1977) my list (and this isn't "best" film, but will re-watch first/got most enjoyment from):
1 ROTJ
2: ANH
3: ESB
4. ROS
5. AOTC
6. TPM
7. RO
8. Solo
9. TFA
10. TROS
11. TLJ
Solid list!
Also, I fully believe Rose was not written out of Rise of Skywalker, but edited out. I think the movie they shot was very different from the final version. But that's just my wild theory
Eh, respectfully disagree my good man.
Also here’s my list:
1. ESB
2. RotJ
3. ANH
4. RotS
5. R1
6. TPM
7. TLJ
8. AotC
9. TFA
10. Solo
GAP
11. TCW
MASSIVE GAP
12. TROS
Totally agree!
Finn's "REY!!!!" rivals Michael from LOST screaming "WALLLLTTTTTT!!!!!!"
HA
Here are my rankings:
Great ranking!
Thanks for the comic insight, I look forward to reading! Here’s my enjoyment list: (context) I was born in the mid 90s.
1. A New Hope
2. The Empire Strikes Back
3. The Last Jedi
4. Attack of the Clones
5. Rogue One
6. Rise of Skywalker
7. The Force Awakens
8. Revenge of the Sith
9. The Phantom Menace
10. Solo
11. Return of the Jedi
If I had to make a list for best crafted film and remove the my inner fan, my top 5 would go:
1. The Empire Strikes Back
2. The Last Jedi
3. The Force Awakens
4. A New Hope
5. Solo
Thank you!
Now I haven't read the comic, but the way you three describe it, it sounds pretty dark.
So I'm wondering if it was TOO dark to be a Star Wars movie?
Some of the movies have been dark, or elements are quite dark, so I suppose it would come down to the execution.
Yeah I agree
Love that Mike is rocking the Jack Carr Hat!!
Oh yeah
In my opinion there are two reasons for it:
1) JJ is director that always frets over opinion of the audience so he was (too) eager to please fans that criticised TLJ and he overcorrected
2) He really had much less time to come up with TROS - Trevorrow provided draft of his screenplay by December 2017. JJ had to scramble to get the resources and ideas he needed, famously changing script multiple times during shooting, which is sadly impacted the final product negatively.
Also, JJ did not really want to do part 3 - he was convinced to do so by his wife. Source: www.indiewire.com/2019/04/j-j-abrams-star-wars-episode-ix-fears-directing-1202057230
IMO, the rumored conflict between the two directors is just overdramatisation on the part of audiences who set themselves firmly in antagonistic camps. I think the reality is more boring: a sequence of errors on their part and the fact that Disney simply did not appreciate the effort required to create those movies and set impossible timelines for the directors, especially for JJ with TROS.
Exec Producer sometimes means nothing but a credit my man. JJ was not a fan of 8.
TL;DR: The Empire Strikes Back, A New Hope, Rogue One, Return of the Jedi, The Force Awakens, Solo, The Rise of Skywalker, Revenge of the Sith, The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, The Last Jedi
1. The Empire Strikes Back (In the running for most beautiful sci-fi movie ever made; great direction and music; makes the Force even more magical and interesting)
2. A New Hope (The ultimate start of the hero's journey on film, imho; incredible effects and movie-making magic)
3. Rogue One (Some incredible sequences; interesting to see another "Force-cult"; an interesting change in tone and focus)
4. Return of the Jedi (Some pretty cheesy moments, to be honest, but the whole sequence on the second Death Star is incredible)
5. The Force Awakens (Derivative? Certainly. But it's also fun, joyous, and a reminder of what I loved about the OT)
6. Solo (A fun story. Doesn't really add much to the mythos/galaxy, but it didn't really need to; some things can just be fun, right?)
7. The Rise of Skywalker (I don't dislike this movie. I see and acknowledge all the problems with it, but with Carrie's passing and the previous installment, they were dealt a near impossible hand)
8. Revenge of the Sith (The CGI was getting a bit more tolerable by this point, and the story is fantastic. The execution still isn't great, showing that George is at his best as an ideas guy and a shepherd)
9. Like the other PT films, I think it's an excellent rough draft; they just needed someone else to come in and fix the script, and they needed a different director.)
10. Attack of the Clones (Pretty cringey. It almost seemed like George took the criticism from TPM and leaned into it even more.)
Love the detailed list, thank you!!
Do you have a link to this comic? Would love to read it.
Yup link is in the description!
@@TheKristianHarloff thanks, loved it
My list from least enjoyable to most:
#11 The Rise of Skywalker

#8 Attack of the Clones
#7 A New Hope
#6 The Force Awakens
#5 The Phantom Menace
#4 Rogue One
#3 Return of The Jedi
#2 Revenge of the Sith
#1 The Empire Strikes Back
It kinda feels like sacrilege having Phantom Menace so high up and A New Hope so close to the bottom, but I have to be honest with the experience I have had with the movies recently. I definitely believe if Duel of the Fates had come out instead of Rise of Skywalker, I would enjoy Last Jedi and Force Awakens a lot more because of how well it ties everything together.

Revenge of the Sith
Rogue One
Rise of Skywalker
Solo
Phantom Menace
Attack of the Clones
I find enjoyment in every single one of them, even the ones at the bottom of the list. Best part about Star Wars!
Thank you for sharing your list!
@@TheKristianHarloff Appreciate your engagement on this new channel! Have really been enjoying it and feel the vibe you love is there in the shows!
1. Rogue one
2. Return of the Jedi (was the one I saw the most as a kid)
3. Empire strikes back
4. Phantom Menace (for three scenes alone. The intro, the podrace, and the duel of fates.)
5. A new hope
+(Duel of fates potentially?)
6. Force Awakens
7. Attack of the Clones. (Colliseum to credits is fantastic)
8. Last Jedi
9. Revenge of the Sith
10. Solo
11. Rise of Skywalker
I can only watch the sequels as stand alone films. There is only 10 minutes in rise of skywalker that is even watchable right in the middle. Thats Rey vs Kylo up until he talks to memory Han and tosses the saber. If 9 was just that as a short film I might have even put it higher.
Rogue One in the drivers seat!
1 - Empire Strikes Back
2 - Return of the Jedi
3 - Attack of the Clones
4 - Phantom Menace
5 - A New Hope
6 - Revenge if the Sith
7 - The Force Awakens
8 - The Last Jedi
9 - Rise of Skywalker
10 - Rogue One
11 - Solo
Yes , Attack of the Clones is in my top 3 .. huge fan of all the Kamino scenes , Jango and young Boba , Coruscant night life , and lots of lightsaber action . To me it’s just live action Clone Wars and I can’t enough
@@BohnTommyFilms The romance stuff is just too boring and cringe for it to be anywhere near the top for me.
Thank you Bontan!
Thanks Sean!
The essence is what I liked
Here is my list based on enjoyment from watching:
1 - The Empire Strikes Back
2 - Return of the Jedi
3 - A New Hope
4 - The Force Awakens ( I saw this 4 times in theatre and many more at home. I like this movie for what it is. I liked the set up of these new characters and story, but was so disappointed about where things went after this film)
5 - Attack of the Clones (I watched this 6 times in the theatre when it came out, I was 12. Was a big time in my life for Star Wars and even though I think it's the worst of the prequels, I still like it the most out of the three lol)
6 - The Phantom Menace (This came out when I was 9.
Brings me down lol)
8 - Rogue One (Only watched 4 times all the way through.)
9 - Solo (Only watched 3 times all the way through.)
10 - The Last Jedi (Only watched this 4 times all the way through.)
11 - The Rise of Skywalker (Only watched 2 times all the way trough. This movie is just brutal for me. Such a mess that just doesn't really make any sense at all. I really do dislike everything about this movie even more so then The Last Jedi.)
Thank you!
I don't agree with all of Mike's list, but I do love Rogue One about as much as he does. Right now I would put it 4th after the whole OT, like Kristian, but MAYBE it could one day jump up above one of them to be number 3. I do love that film more every time I see it.

@@TheKristianHarloff Thanks, man.
Yeah that was a hard one to do.
Ok, here goes. My list of my favourite movies
