Fished this spot yesterday with my kids . My kids hate fishing with me but they love this area . Fishing time is turning into community service for them . They helped me pick up trash along the rocks off the trail. They complained the whole time . I explained to them that if these corporate offices see trash in their hood theyll shut down the fishing . My kids encourages all of yall fishermen to trash the place that way we can hang out here without me fishing and them picking up trash ..
Love the chill vibes, subbed! Seems like the halibut bite has slowed down a lot in the bay (at least from shore). Never caught one before but would like to!
@jaxfor3 yeh there's usually a bunch of people on the pier and I like a little more room. Plus pier fishing is bait n wait which I'm not into because I like to feel the action when the fish hit the bait 🤙🏼
spool look like it's over spooled. I usually aim around 1/8" from edge or make sure its not going past da top of spool 👍🏽 pretty awesome catching a hali from shore though 🤙🏽
@Norcal808 lol yeh that's what I was thinking too. It had 300 yards and my spool could hold like 260 or something like that so I was pushing it to see if I could use it all 😆
If you're not needing an extra 10-15yrds casting , I prefer to not spool-up past the 1/4" point. It is an old habit I learned to reduce chances for the birds-nest, or whatever ya wanna call it. I think it saved me potential frustration while fishing high altitude lakes in Upper Sierras. Heh, at 8500-10500ft I had enough probs try to breathe so it seemed a good idea.
It’s not about just catching. You ever think why we are loosing places to fish because people litter and etc. also u attract poachers but I guess ur on here for the likes and not for the fishery. You will get it one day 🤣
@@Striperguy408 i dont litter and in fact pick up trash that I see and dispose of it. I dont give 2 sh*ts about likes, i just post my experiences so others can enjoy and maybe someone starting out can learn something. i'm also not sure how I attract poachers but that isnt my intent.
HMOOB AUSTRALIA FISHING AND COOKING: love that red bend and the reel runs.
Best feeling in the world when you feel the strike and fight!
Line definitely sounds better, way more enjoyable to watch ! Thank you
It's still a bit loud now that I notice it more! I've got a new reel coming soon to compare
Great video and channel good vibes.
You bring fishing brotherhood to the next level 😎👍🐟

@fuzzy_little_duckling I think that was my first hali this year. Every once in awhile I'll get one
Always fished the pier there but you make fishing off the rocks look a lot more fun.

New subscriber here my brother, i am enjoying your videos, keep on fishing 👊🏻
That was me in the vid! Thanks for being a great sport and for lending me a hand. Hope to see you there again- tight lines 🤙
@yy.415 dude I think I was more excited than you lol 🤙🏼
Every brain I’ve ever had made that noise
Let's go.....!

@@rkw221 lesson learned and thanks for the advice! tbh i prob only need like 100 yds lol 🤙
How did you hold the main spool up & down or left to right???
I like your setup. What size rod, action, and power? What size reel? Thank you
@@NN-wu3cy this one is the okuma rockaway sp 10' with M+ power and MF action with a 4000 reel. Tight lines! 🤙🏼
It looks like you changed out the hooks on the Calissa/luckycraft for bigger hooks, aren’t you worried about the action of the lure being affected?
Yes, slightly bigger and beefier but it doesn't seem to affect the action very much
Nice Catches. Do you run straight braid to the lure or do you have some mono/flouro leader.
@@ronmodafferi8202 straight braid
@@gc_in_dc Thanks! Do you ever get "wind knots" when casting?
@@ronmodafferi8202 not really? but i did when i overspooled my line with the camo braid lol 🤙
How many LB is the braid your using and how are you liking it?
@Fishfromhell 20lb. I've used 25lb also but 20 seems to be good enough
You ever had any luck there during high tide?
Oddly enough I seem to catch stripers mostly at incoming low to mid tide but I'm sure they're around at high tide too
How many pds is your line usually
20lb
Burning ur own spot 😢
Doesn't bother me. I don't go every day and if I do see other ppl there I hope they catch fish too!
@@gc_in_dcI wish everybody had that mindset
