*Pied Piper* is like a lowkey disstrack to *ARMYS* 😂 This song got a lot of school kids grades up that year in the country when it drop, people were literally posting their grades online to show their grades going up & them passing their exams because of the song & its message. Bts is never all talk they do what they sing just like when they launched black swan, it came with them funded a global art exhibition to appreciate other forms of art that inspired them to do better music.
It's not a diss track at all. Sometimes I feel too many people don't read and/or don't understand metaphors. They are describing sometimes toxic fan-idol relationship but also admitting to its necessity. They are both saying that ARMYs shouldn't have their lives taken over BTS obsession BUT at the same time saying that they know it's their fault they "lured" you in, and they won't stop because they want and need us too. BTS are our Pied Pipers who lure and lead us with their "flute" (music).
the pied piper legend is actually quite dark. he took revenge on a village that had broken its promise by luring all the children away, never to be seen again. I think in this case, BTS means it in the way that if ARMY (or people in general) do what they're supposed to do and take care of their real-life responsibilities, then there is nothing dangerous about their passion (for BTS or anything else). It's only when they ignore those duties and fail to do what they should that it becomes dangerous. We have to be careful not to get carried away. You'd be hard-pressed to find a BTS song that doesn't have a deeper meaning aside from the superficial one lol and they've been known to have beats that suggest the opposite of the lyrics, it's an intentional choice. Also, the "best song" is hard to choose but "Outro: Tear" is up there for me, along with Fake Love and Black Swan
I actually think the instrumental is perfect for this song bc (just like the legend of the Pied Piper) BTS is trying to seduce ARMY Yes, BTS are clowning us for being obsessed with them in the lyrics 😂, but they’re also playing heavily into the motif of the pied Piper by saying I need and want you to keep being obsessed. Keep focusing on us and keep loving us. Yes, it might distract you from work and school (“it might ruin you”) but I need you and I’ll love you back (“don’t reject me, my hands are warm for you”) It’s the ultimate fandom seduction song if you really think I about it 😂....plus the live performance definitely helps support that theme (they show out when they perform it live tbh)

You should have done Pied Piper live with lyrics. It's a completely different experience. It has become one of my favorite songs. I also love the tongue-in-cheek lyrics. The music is exactly what it should be - it sounds light and high pitched - just like a flute. That's the thing about BTS, though...what makes them great is when you go beyond the surface. You gotta dig a little with them. Once you do, an entirely new world opens up for you.

For me personally I have this thing where I need to see a live performance to a song so I can get a sense of the vibe that they are trying to portray...if that makes sense lol so for a lot of BTS their performances really give off a different vibe in my opinion. I think you need to be a true army to know and understand the meaning of this song😂😂 it's like a unique take on a song dedicated for their fans since they low-key dissed us at the same time they acknowledge that they were the reason why we are like this. To quote jhope, they really were our "guilty pleasure". Also as written in the lyrics, this song, even though is a low-key diss, is not a punishment for us but a reward. The boys know that they need us as much as we need them, that's why they are asking for forgiveness since even though they know that they are the reason why we don't study or work that much, they still would seduce us into loving them (like a Pied Piper) since they need us too. I had a good laugh while listening and reading this for the first time.

Jmts, part of the charm of this song is that the music seems so innocent but the lyrics tell you the unvarnished truth that an Army runs the risk of losing real life if BTS engulfs them. By the same token the identical risk applies to BTS themselves in their own devotion to Army. The live of Dimple and Pied Piper together are a fan favorite. In Dimple they elevate the simple dimple to the erotic stratosphere. No bobs or boots need apply. Stay well

The song is sooo good though, hypnotizing you with the sweetness of the sound, makes me feel like I’m following them into a fantasy forest to my own detriment. The MTV show you mentioned is the "MTV Unplugged" and they performed a couple of songs of their new album "BE" like " Telepathy" "Blue &Grey" " Life Goes On" " Dynamite" and the cover of Coldplay "Fix You"...Hope you guys can react to this whole performances because are worth it, the cover of "Fix You" was just EPIC, I knew BTS can pull out this show and they did it.

There are so many great BTS songs. You should listen to their live version of House of Cards. Or Your Eyes Tell which is off their Japanese album or possibly Let Go. BTW, BTS is known for making songs where the music says one thing but the lyrics are saying something completely different. But in the case of pied piper, the music is smooth and alluring which is what the pied piper was. The pied piper would enthrall the kids and the music and lyrics to the song gave the same vibe IMO.
Firstly, I'd like to say that BTS tend to put messages in their songs that are like the complete opposite of the music and rhythm, etc. They could write the saddest lyrics and slap a fire beat over it and you would never know it was an emotional song. I feel like the instrumentation on this particular track was intentional. It's an easy-going, enchanting melody, which if you read the lyrics, seems like the whole point. They're captivating you with their music while simultaneously saying they're gonna ruin you. Second, would you please react to BTS Baepsae? Hi guys. Thanks for your reactions. Try though to avoid these colour coded videos. A lot of ARMY don't like them as they contain errors at times of who is singing what and even the lyrics. The songs are on BTS's official channel and you can listen to them from that channel with lyrics. Also, if there is a performance for the song watch it. Two other good songs you will like I think are Fake Love and Blood Seat and Tears... I guess you've done the first, but not the second

This is definitely one of my favourite BTS songs, the way it sounds just draws me in. Plus the mad sexy choreography that went along with it made it truly irresistable to watch when BTS first performed it for ARMY during one of their FESTAs. Anyway, the pied piper of Hamelin is from a German fairy tale, he is a legendary piper that was hired by the townsfolk to get rid of rats in their town. He played his pipe and the music was so irresistable that the rats followed him out of the town, so he got rid of them. But when he came back to get paid, he was refused payment. So then he played his pipe again, and this time, the town's children followed him, and it is said that they never came back again. It's like he took the children away, 'cos they didn't pay him for his services. That's kind of how the story goes. So BTS is likening themselves to the pied piper, 'cos just as the sound of his pipe was irresistable, so much so that all the kids in the town followed him wherever he went, even when he led them away from their homes (and to their doom), ARMYs can't resist BTS. And yeah, BTS was calling out ARMY for following them too obsessively. They knew they were "ruining" us and perhaps taking too much time and effort out of our lives. They were telling us to prioritize our education, our work, 'cos when we're done with that, BTS will still be here. You have to agree, it's a part of loving ourselves. Very appropriate message, since this song was from the album, "Love Yourself: Her". When ARMYs heard this song, we started posting our grades online to prove to BTS that they weren't ruining us. We could be both successful at school (and at work), while still being ARMY for BTS.
There are some songs that you have to listen to more than once. It is like art. There may be things you miss but see next time. You must absorb it and see the layers. The lyrics are clever, playful and seductive. You can hear the playfulness even if you don't understand the language. If you watch the live you can see the seduction and playfulness work together with the music. Even who sings what lyric matters! They play off each other. The music and vocals are light and twitter like a flute. The Pied Piper lures with a flute music that cannot be resisted. You must follow and the Piper must play. BTS brings that all together. The song does grow on you the more you listen to it and understand what it is they are doing. The old German folktale this references is where you must "pay the piper" comes from, btw. The town did not pay what they promised. In the tale, one child could not keep up and was left behind and told the townspeople that the flute spoke of such a wonderous place of joy, sweets, and endless fun and the child was heartbroken to be left behind.

B-sides arn't Necessarily less populer songs. It's just the songs on an album that don't have a mv. And the songs that do have a mv are the ones that are supposed to catch your attention. These songs have to be chosen wisely bc they are the ones they are going to promote the most on music shows and awards.
This is my all time favorite BTS song. I think it is one that can sneak up on you. It might not grab you at first, but it really grows on you the more you listen to it.
I 100% understand why ya'll didn't vibe with this song off the bat, I was the same way. I always saw other fans talking about how much they loved this song but it was very "meh" to me... Then I happened upon an article that discussed what the song really meant about how it was telling their fans to work hard and don't let BTS distract them from reaching their goals and I thought that was very conscious of an artist to put out there considering their fans are their livelihood. Then I saw a clip of one of their producers, Pdogg using the talk-box that is super prevalent in this song, working on the funky base-line, etc and I became absolutely obsessed with this song and listen to it every day (with headphones to hear that amazing base of course!!) This is now in my top 3 BTS songs for sure, I promise it'll grow on you if you listen to it a few more times and appreciate how much really went into its production... BTS have a b-side for just about everybody, I think it just depends on your mood or preference for music. Watching live performances of a song your iffy on is a good way to improve your impression because they are incredible performers. House of Cards, the Truth Untold, Paradise, Louder than Bombs, etc...way too many to choose from
I feel the beat doesn’t need to match the lyrics, that’s just me but that’s a common thing with BTS they branch out and try new things like mixing genres and different concepts, sending messages to ARMY, etc. I know you guys have different perspectives on music but sometimes you don’t have to dive so deep into it to like a song like this. After listening to a song a couple times it grows on you fast especially if you don’t read the lyrics and just listen.
Don't know who the Pied Piper is and doesn't google it (though sitting in front of a computer). Then says, "the lyrics don't match the song." This is right up there with "I don't like R&B music." Two videos later yall love The Seventh Sense by NCT. Yall are a little too frustrating/irritating for my taste.

For me personally I have this thing where I need to see a live performance to a song so I can get a sense of the vibe that they are trying to portray...if that makes sense lol so for a lot of BTS their performances really give off a different vibe in my opinion. I totally understand where y’all are coming from, they can’t all win lmao but this performance is one of my favs 👍🏽
I think you need to be a true army to know and understand the meaning of this song😂😂 it's like a unique take on a song dedicated for their fans since they low-key dissed us at the same time they acknowledge that they were the reason why we are like this. To quote jhope, they really were our "guilty pleasure". Also as written in the lyrics, this song, even though is a low-key diss, is not a punishment for us but a reward. The boys know that they need us as much as we need them, that's why they are asking for forgiveness since even though they know that they are the reason why we don't study or work that much, they still would seduce us into loving them (like a Pied Piper) since they need us too. I had a good laugh while listening and reading this for the first time.

Jmts, part of the charm of this song is that the music seems so innocent but the lyrics tell you the unvarnished truth that an Army runs the risk of losing real life if BTS engulfs them. By the same token the identical risk applies to BTS themselves in their own devotion to Army. The live of Dimple and Pied Piper together are a fan favorite. In Dimple they elevate the simple dimple to the erotic stratosphere. No bobs or boots need apply. Stay well

The song is sooo good though, hypnotizing you with the sweetness of the sound, makes me feel like I’m following them into a fantasy forest to my own detriment. Sonically too I think the melodies are so addicting but not over the top. It’s a highly produced song too but not in an over-produced, fake way like a lot kpop songs are

The MTV show you mentioned is the "MTV Unplugged" and they performed a couple of songs of their new album "BE" like " Telepathy" "Blue &Grey" " Life Goes On" " Dynamite" and the cover of Coldplay "Fix You"...Hope you guys can react to this whole performances because are worth it, the cover of "Fix You" was just EPIC, I knew BTS can pull out this show and they did it.

There are so many great BTS songs. You should listen to their live version of House of Cards. Or Your Eyes Tell which is off their Japanese album or possibly Let Go. BTW, BTS is known for making songs where the music says one thing but the lyrics are saying something completely different. But in the case of pied piper, the music is smooth and alluring which is what the pied piper was. The pied piper would enthrall the kids and the music and lyrics to the song gave the same vibe IMO.
Firstly, I'd like to say that BTS tend to put messages in their songs that are like the complete opposite of the music and rhythm, etc. They could write the saddest lyrics and slap a fire beat over it and you would never know it was an emotional song. I feel like the instrumentation on this particular track was intentional. It's an easy-going, enchanting melody, which if you read the lyrics, seems like the whole point. They're captivating you with their music while simultaneously saying they're gonna ruin you. Second, would you please react to BTS Baepsae? It has always been one of my favorite tracks by BTS and it's a must
BTS will give you tracks that sound different than what they mean, a good example is Seesaw.

Hi guys. Thanks for your reactions. Try though to avoid these colour coded videos. A lot of ARMY don't like them as they contain errors at times of who is singing what and even the lyrics. The songs are on BTS's official channel and you can listen to them from that channel with lyrics. Also, if there is a performance for the song watch it. Two other good songs you will like I think are Fake Love and Blood Seat and Tears... I guess you've done the first, but not the second
I think the beat is a seduction when the lyrics are warning, similar to the Pied Piper, the flute is hypnotic but the piper is danger 🤔😁🔥

pied piper definitly a seductive song, but its very different seing it live, and using the color coded lyrics. Pied Piper and Dimple live from the 5th Muster is a must (get it), when u see it live, u get it. 😂 Its not my favorite song by them, but its up there in the top 10/top 15 for me for sure

BTS has an huge discography and many amazing B side tracks. You will definitely find something that is your cup of tea. I don't know if you guys already reacted in your Patreon, but I think you could try "Whalien 52" (the story behind the lyrics was another new thing that I learned from BTS) and "Tomorrow" (I think everyone can relate to the lyrics and had similar feelings at some point in their life). This is definitely one of my favourite BTS songs, the way it sounds just draws me in. Plus the mad sexy choreography that went along with it made it truly irresistable to watch when BTS first performed it for ARMY during one of their FESTAs.
Anyway, the pied piper of Hamelin is from a German fairy tale, he is a legendary piper that was hired by the townsfolk to get rid of rats in their town. He played his pipe and the music was so irresistable that the rats followed him out of the town, so he got rid of them. But when he came back to get paid, he was refused payment. So then he played his pipe again, and this time, the town's children followed him, and it is said that they never came back again. It's like he took the children away, 'cos they didn't pay him for his services. That's kind of how the story goes.
So BTS is likening themselves to the pied piper, 'cos just as the sound of his pipe was irresistable, so much so that all the kids in the town followed him wherever he went, even when he led them away from their homes (and to their doom), ARMYs can't resist BTS. And yeah, BTS was calling out ARMY for following them too obsessively. They knew they were "ruining" us and perhaps taking too much time and effort out of our lives. They were telling us to prioritize our education, our work, 'cos when we're done with that, BTS will still be here. You have to agree, it's a part of loving ourselves. Very appropriate message, since this song was from the album, "Love Yourself: Her".
When ARMYs heard this song, we started posting our grades online to prove to BTS that they weren't ruining us. We could be both successful at school (and at work), while still being ARMY for BTS.

There are some songs that you have to listen to more than once. It is like art. There may be things you miss but see next time. You must absorb it and see the layers. The lyrics are clever, playful and seductive. You can hear the playfulness even if you don't understand the language. If you watch the live you can see the seduction and playfulness work together with the music. Even who sings what lyric matters! They play off each other. The music and vocals are light and twitter like a flute. The Pied Piper lures with a flute music that cannot be resisted. You must follow and the Piper must play. BTS brings that all together. The song does grow on you the more you listen to it and understand what it is they are doing. The old German folktale this references is where you must "pay the piper" comes from, btw. The town did not pay what they promised. In the tale, one child could not keep up and was left behind and told the townspeople that the flute spoke of such a wonderous place of joy, sweets, and endless fun and the child was heartbroken to be left behind.

This is my all time favorite BTS song. I think it is one that can sneak up on you. It might not grab you at first, but it really grows on you the more you listen to it.
I 100% understand why ya'll didn't vibe with this song off the bat, I was the same way. I always saw other fans talking about how much they loved this song but it was very "meh" to me... Then I happened upon an article that discussed what the song really meant about how it was telling their fans to work hard and don't let BTS distract them from reaching their goals and I thought that was very conscious of an artist to put out there considering their fans are their livelihood. Then I saw a clip of one of their producers, Pdogg using the talk-box that is super prevalent in this song, working on the funky base-line, etc and I became absolutely obsessed with this song and listen to it every day (with headphones to hear that amazing base of course!!) This is now in my top 3 BTS songs for sure, I promise it'll grow on you if you listen to it a few more times and appreciate how much really went into its production... Oh and the live performance at the 5th muster would turn anyone into a Pied Piper fan!

I feel the beat doesn’t need to match the lyrics, that’s just me but that’s a common thing with BTS they branch out and try new things like mixing genres and different concepts, sending messages to ARMY, etc. I know you guys have different perspectives on music but sometimes you don’t have to dive so deep into it to like a song like this. After listening to a song a couple times it grows on you fast especially if you don’t read the lyrics and just listen.
