So a special rule on this map is to get a Techmarine within 2" of the end of the cannon and they can make it fire dealing 3 deadly wounds to anyone on the bridge or in the trench.
D3 mortal wounds might be a better idea, and also it might be a good idea to make it fire the next turn, letting models try to escape the trench as it warms up. Similar to the deathstrike missile.
Extend it to tech marine equivalents like warpsmiths, mek boyz, etc. and have them roll for it. It would be funny if on a 1 it explodes instead doing d3 mortals in a certain range
Just making sure you are aware you have a macro Gatling blaster! It fires solid projectiles it’s not a laser blaster. That rear box is a massive magazine and if you turn it over you’ll be able to see the ammunition coming out of the hopper into the barrels. Not sure if this will affect your build as the trench would’ve been created by explosions, not carved with laser
For enduring 10.000 years of abrasion and sand storms, that trench still got some sharp edges and is surprisingly sand-free at the bottom… Maybe they regularly maintain it by hooking a titan reactor up to the gun and blasting everything clear? I understand the time-crunch, but having the opposing rock-face and perhaps the section of the trench closest to the gun covered in resin to make it look glassy would have been cool (although that texture would also have been abraded down to ruggedness over 10k years - but the states of both things go hand in hand, right?).
Awesome progress on that insane board! Just one small input: I think you should do something with the attachment point of the weapon (the round disk thing) - it looks to new an modellike for the board. Maybe attach the other part and rough it up so that it looks more broken - like the weapon arm was shot off or the joint exploded?
Use a laundry stain remover bottle, empty of course lol, for your PVA water bottle. The stain spray is thickish and somewhat sticky and is much better suited for our needs than a standard water bottle sprayer.
Also figured out why you where confused by the gun in dawn of war being laser and not ballistic. The cannon you've put on the board is actually a Gatling blaster whereas the example in dawn of war a hellstorm cannon. Looks similar I know but actually two distinct weapons :P
This is so cool, I love seeing the whole thing slowly come together. Also in terms of the rain marks on the rust, that’s technically lore accurate because in the dark age of technology Mars was actually a livable planet before being polluted by the Adeptus Mechanicus, now the planet still gets rains, but poisonous liquid sulfur rains.
I am pretty sure the reason your iron earth didn't crack is because you used a rattle can over it. You have to go over it extremely thinly with an airbrush. You might want to try it with Ironcrust instead, but same problem. Use an airbrush and go light. I don't know if either will give you the effect you desire though.
Love the peels… great way to weather things. Is anyone else having issues on Samsung TVs around 13 minutes where the audio gets all screwed up? It seems to be an issue with a bunch of creators recently and I haven’t been the only one. Perfectly fine on iOS.
great video guys and this build is looking amazing so far. I think it may have been a bit of a miss-step to put the bridge so close to the gun as it makes it seem like the gun cant be fired anymore and that kinda goes against the narrative of the piece for me. would have been cool to maybe have a fallen crane or something breaching the gap instead and acting as a bridge. this could be where the admech had previously tried to salvage to weapon only for the unstable earth to collapse there crane into the trench.
I wonder if you could put a thick gloss varnish all over the inside of the trench to simulate the rock being turned to glass, then sprinkle some sand/dirt and small rocks back over
@@aphenioxPDWtechnology I've got a relatively new one, and plates are too hot to handle if I try and remove them immediately after the cycle has finished
The gatling blaster is a ballistic weapon, rapidly firing high caliber projectiles comparable to a Leman Russ's battle cannon in a manner similar to an autocannon.
Awesome video guys! Love the callback to iconic DoW maps! By the way - the cordless airbrush - flare they good/do you rate them? I’ve been considering one but haven’t heard great reviews!
with your cracking experiment, the primer cures faster than the texture paint dries, so you have like an uncracked plastic film over your acrylic paint
Looks cool so far, would say when you do the titans maybe put some sort of scaffolding round them to give off the impression the skitari has once tried salvaging parts from them
I really like the board. Maybe some kind of cables at the attatchment point of the gun would look good? Would make it look more like it was lost in battle. Right now the joint of the gun looks a bit too "clean" in my opinion.
I used a method like that for my lava bases way back when, used the ironearth heavily globbed on and when it was still wet saturated the top with basically a thick black wash. It left the red colour in the cracks and gave a black tone on the top surface. Maybe the spraypaint dried before the crackle medum could do its job, so it didn't get the effect you wanted?
Am much as I hate to see a titan get destroyed I also love the creativity and enginuity of the craft, plus the boards look amazing, keep up the good work
Doesn't the gattling blaster fire solid shells? Wouldn't it have been more fitting to use the volcano cannon? edit: Yeah, you can straight up see the ammo feeds lol
I was thinking that, there were a few times you could see the shells and shell feeding belt whan they were working on it, but its their project and their doing an amzing job

okay so, i feel that i am late to the party here, but, looking at the lore of the gatling blaster, it wouldn't leave a trail like that, it fires 150mm explosive rounds, if you wanted to have a trail, the most accurate weapon to use that on would be volcano cannon, since it is a energy beam weapon, like at the end of the day the choice is yours but the macro cannon is meant to be a mini gun so, yeah Besides the lore nerd in me complaining, amazing work!

@@SomeoneElse2148 That's actually what I was thinking. A black glassy surface at the end of the trench need the bottom of the mound.

you should throw in some black glass pieces! Sand turns to glass when it gets super hot right?

Use a garden sprayer for PVA glue instead of a spray bottle. It's a life changer.

Dust storms do more damage to paint jobs than rain does.
