  • We take a fast ride thru the snowflakes and drizzle along the NE Corridor to Philadelphia. It’s a rather gloomy day as we slip/slide thru the precipitation to Philadelphia. All stations, interlockings, passing trains, signals, and overhead bridges are identified.

    First time viewer I love the journeys. What I specifically like is the referencing of OHB 's. I travel on the New York State Thruway and I love that there is signage on the overpasses.

    I used to take the R7 from Torresdale to Temple U Station. This brings back memories. Thanks for the video.

    You should mention when passing through North Philadelpha go towards 30th street is Joe Frazier GYM. Right at North Philadelphia station use to a yard where my Father and Uncle Joe use to house their trucks cranes and backhoes when they were in business for themselves. I always remember watching Conrail trains going to departing Frankford Jct. yard or Camden Yard. Back in late 70's early 1980's The Yard now is a Social Security Office. Thank you for allowing me to see my old stomping grounds without going back home. I was raised near Holmesburg Junction on the 4600 Block of Marple Street, which is behind now abandon Stone Container Building at Holmesburg Junction Station.

    I recently got to meet the guys who run the local East Penn railroad switching unit located out of Bristol. Great bunch of folks and several have watched your videos! I will be working with them and their management in the beginning in the New Year so if you plan on being in the area, definitely keep an eye out for a park ranger on a locomotive!

      @@3985uprrThey run the operation on the former PRR/PC/Conrail and Conrail Shared assets line from Holmesburg JCT and when you pass Bristol (the lumber facility) they also switch a couple of industries along there and interchange with Conrail Shared Assets/CSX

    I always wind up learning so much about RR history from your voice-annotated excursions. Thanks for posting all that you've posted in 2023 -- looking forward to more in 2024!

    Thank you for the front window view. I especially like when the train switches tracks at interlockings. Knowing the locations of the bridges as per the video also added to the enjoyment.

    Really great video and narration. Too bad they now have turnstiles on the 30th street platform. When I was a student at Drexel (Just west of 30th street) I would regularly visit the commuter platforms and watch the trains. I remember one day seeing a string of the old prr commuter coaches being pulled in by a GG1.

    Really enjoy these NE Corridor videos, because I take that line from NYP to Paoli quite a bit. I remember you were once saying that a car bounced off of Route 13 and right onto the tracks a few years ago. I believe that's why the railroad built a fence along there, including the guardrail.

    Cool video Tim even with the spotted window lol. Next time you're around downtown Philly it would be nice to see a tour of the Reading terminal market and all the food they have to offer.

    The NJ highway just before the bridge over the Delaware River is NJ Route 29. NJ Route 28 is up by the Raritan Valley Line, and runs between Elizabeth and Branchburg…

      I don’t know of any railroad that does. That’s why I try to do these on days when I don’t think it’s going to rain, but the weatherman tricked me.

      It does help when it's overcast though, as when the sun's out, depending on the angle, that can highlight the dirt on the glass.. @@3985uprr

    Eddington should be abandoned. There's no parking there, no easy way to get to Street Rd. and very little ridership.

    • @3985uprr
      @3985uprr  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      There’s an industrial area there and you can only really walk to the station and even that’s not all that easy with all the traffic on the roads
