    After two Cricuts and almost buying a Silhouette I almost cried when I saw how accurate it cut my stickers after soooo many failed attempts and wasted supplies.

      Hi! I feel your pain😅 I have been through 5 Machines. 3 Silhouettes, 2 Cricuts and a Brother Scan N Cut so I am... terrified, for lack of a better word, to try yet another... rather pricey, machine. Has this machine been worth it for you?
      Thanks in advance!

    as someone who’s mostly familiar with working with industry machines, specifically rolands, I think this is the first hobby cutter I’d consider getting. the fact that you can dial it in at every step is very nice, precision is key. I definitely think this machine is for a more advanced market than some people realize 😅

    Thank you Angie! I love that Siser heard our frustrations with the Cricut Print then Cut limitations and gave us what we been asking for. The only cons [IMO⁹] I see with this cutter is 1. the lining up with the rollers especially since everything looked flushed. 2. The moving of the blade to the box, I feel like it would be easier on us all if the cutting blade would automatically go to that spot on it's own. 3. looks like alot of new owners are going to cut off vinyl due to how quickly the blade housing moves .

  • @nanette28
    @nanette28 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I recently got one specifically for the larger print and cut capabilities. However, I didn’t realize how much tweaking we have to do ourselves before we can even start that process. Ugh 😩 I wish that was something more automatic that the machine would do itself. Maybe that could be part of Siser’ upgrade? In any case, thank you so much for this very detailed and amazing video. I definitely look forward to seeing more about the programming for it to help me navigate through.

    Today (August 23, 2023), you can purchase the Juliet from Brilliant Vinyl for $299. I don't know how many units they will have for that price, but getting such a solid machine for $200 less that MSRP seems to be a great deal.

    Great tutorial Angie!! Thought I wanted one but now I don't. Don't like that you have to move the blade in a specific location for the print and cut. Also, when not using a mat you have to make sure you have a straight cut edge then feed it through and then you have to make sure the edge even. That's a lot to tweak before cutting.

    I heard about this by accident in one other craft cutting video. Then I saw it in the suggestion on TH-cam. You did a good job of going over the key features for the machine. It sounds about as loud as a cameo. It seems to be pretty fast. Certainly faster than the others like Scan N cut, Cricut, Cameo. I do like that it has a built-in camera to help align the design to the printed material or just the material itself. In this way it is something like the usefulness of the Scan N Cut.

    Great video as always for this interesting new machine. It peaked my curiosity so I was looking for more details about what materials would be compatible such as wood, fabric, etc. I went through dozens of sites which did a poor job on that particular aspect. Before I invest, I would need all the info like other cutting machine brands offer. • @createinspain
      @createinspain 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The GENERAL rule with cutters other than those that specify otherwise, is that if you can cut it with scissors, you are good to go. None of the craft machines do anything detailed with wood, just basic shapes, often needing multiple passes. Fabric will depend on type and stability. Usually crafters apply stabilisers to fabric to ensure it does not pull and move during cutting. You can cut things like thin, flexible plastics, make stencils and templates, that sort of thing. If you want to cut acrylic, plywood etc, you need a CNC not this kind of plotter. CNCs use routers and can cut wood, metal etc. They come in many sizes, from desktop to VERY large ones for wood shops.

    Cricut has 4 kg max of cutting pressure and silhouette 5kg so able to cut thicker denser materials
    . How does this machine compare? I feel it's not exactly an entry level machine.. More geared towards the user who has at least some experience with plotters. The blade depth needs to be manually adjusted which can be complicated. In your opinion is it more for the vinyl crafter/small business owner? As a prevalently paper crafter albeit with 17 years of experience with plotters, having to make my own settings for all the thicknesses of cardstock I use would be exceptionally time consuming so maybe Siser could add starter settings or suggestions to the software. No subscription fee on the current software, unsure what the payments will be for future Pro versions. So, at present, if you are designing your own work, you will probably want to design in something else and import the SVG.

    I’ll be curious how everyone handles the mat buckling. The middle roller causes the mat to buckle with repeated use. If you reuse one of those mat while cutting smaller pieces of vinyl it causes scratching. I’m not sure if moving the roller to edge is the solution or what others will do to solve. I was cutting a lot of card stock and stickers.

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting! I will look out for that! I noticed the roller left black marks on my mat which was concerning.

    • @createinspain
      @createinspain 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      This middle roller is an issue that Siser are currently looking into. I think that as a vinyl company, they were less aware of the implications of the third roller for paper crafters. There is, I believe an adjustment to the roller pressure and if that is the case, lowering the pressure may improve that matter. However, having a wheel travel over your card stock, marking it and possibly making it adhere to the mat in ways that are not desirable, needs to be addressed.

    • @meluv2cut
      @meluv2cut 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@createinspain thanks for the info. It does it with htv and perm vinyl as well. The constant use of the mat causes it to buckle. I use up my scraps but ruining 3 mats to get my project completed was aggravating. Hopefully it will get fixed.
