Thank you for the update -more meaningful than an unboxing, imho. Appreciate your honest, to-the-point video. Glad you listed your things to be aware of -that's absolutely going to be me! Cricut was a great beginner tool, but now that I know what I want -and know better (cough, cough), I'm getting the Juliet. Your video has sealed the deal so Siser should sponsor you. Big time. I'm going to go watch more of your videos, then I'm off to do some shopping! Thank you!
Thank you so much for your video! I've been crafting for about a year and have a Cricut Maker 3 and Explore Air 2. It's been somewhat frustrating because of the glitches in the software needed for the Cricut machines. I stumbled on a few videos spotlighting the Siser Romeo and decided to buy the Juliet (mainly because of my craft room space limitations). I absolutely LOVE THE JULIET and the Leonardo software!!! Please keep making videos spotlighting Siser's cutting machines so that people can have the information needed to make an informed decision regarding which machine to buy. ❤
I was in the search of my first cutter. I always automatically think of Cricut and kept looking at Cricut videos and reviews for months. Then I randomly discovered a random video of the Siser Juliet and saw how quiet and quick it was and it made me dig even deeper. It made me realized that alot of Cricut videos are by creators sponsored by Cricut. I also realized how closed of an ecosystem Cricut felt. I felt like alot of Cricut videos were biased and mainly showcased the good parts of it and if it wasn't for tiktok I wouldn't have realized the issues with Cricut. I felt like there weren't a bunch of videos on the Juiliet, which made me feel like there was something wrong with it. I began to suspect that there weren't alot of videos on the Juliet because as mentioned earlier, alot of creators are sponsored by the Cricut, so after all their unboxings and positive reviews, they ignored the Juliet and went back to Cricut videos. It really made me feel like something wasn't as it seemed. I took the plunge and bought the Juliet and I feel like I made the best decision ever picking my first cutting machine. I was up and running within minutes and did my first flawless print and cut. Now that I'm thinking back, I don't think I've had a misaligned cut like... ever. My list of pros are pretty much same as yours. Fast and accurate cuts. Quiet. Easy software. My list of cons: -Lack of accessories/tools (pen tools, dust cover) -Lack of dual tools (pen + cut combos, etc.) -Unable to rearrange HTV/PSV tabs on the machine. I don't do HTV and wish I could just rename the the HTV and PSV tabs. -Pinch rollers pinch a bit too hard, indenting my mats where the rollers are. If it weren't for this, my mats would last so much longer. Sorry for the long comment. I just love my Juliet so much I feel like a walking billboard whenever someone asks me "which Cricut should I get?" and I tell them "none" 🤣
I'm so glad you found a machine you like a lot! It really is my favorite. I think tools coming so one of your wishes will be coming true. I agree it would be nice to be able to change the titles of the materials. You can do the actual materials but not the headings. I bet that's coming though. I would like more spaces for material. I am a walking billdoard too😂. she's seriously the best and they don't pay me to say it. I love that they let me say whatever I think. I told them I had some things I was going to share that I didn't like about the machine before I uploaded the video and they were like "cool," let us know what you post it. I love that company!
I’m right now trying to decide which machine to purchase and this really has helped. I really only need a simple machine to cut stained glass patterns with a very specific measurement between each designs pieces. My biggest hurdle is finding and learning the easiest drawing software. I’m a bit technologically challenged but I can learn. That is my dilemma. Thank you for creating a fantastic video. I’m definitely leaning towards a Juliet now.
Update: I revisited your video for a refresher on what you didn’t like about the machine and software. I trust your channel for all of the honesty products you review. You don’t hold back, good or bad. And that is what I love about you❤. That said,. I finally decided against purchasing a third Siser Romeo. I returned it two! Not once, but twice. I never had the chance to experience the software properly. Both units had hardware problems. The first Romeo was shipped damaged, with a faulty screw on the side panel broken and sticking out. While waiting for a replacement, I struggled to feed mats and vinyl through the rollers. Although I lifted the rollers, there was barely any space between the roller wheels and the rod to slide materials through. The second unit arrived without damage, but the roller problem was even worse. I couldn’t slide each roller with one hand; they were so stiff that I had to use both hands, struggling to get them to move. Additionally, trying to get materials to slide into the machine's rollers had very little capability to accomplish it. I contacted support and was advised to use WD40, but it didn’t work. Before purchasing, I was in contact with sales/support about a rotary blade. I was told they had been working on a beta rotary blade 7 months ago. As of March 2024, I haven’t heard anything about the rotary blade. I was also told the number one problem is that Cricut holds a patent for the rotary blade. However, Brother has it for Scan N Cut, and the new Singer Momento 24" Craft Cutting Machine has a rotary blade. Speaking of which, I just mentioned the Singer Momento 24" Craft Cutting Machine and have it. Only HSN has the rights to sell Singer Momento until the end of March. The build quality is amazing, and the color touchscreen is also impressive. However, the software is lacking. They rushed pushing out the Singer Momento 24" Craft Cutting Machine without finishing and bug fixing the software. In fact, Singer tech support hasn’t been trained yet. I can’t express how stripped and buggy MySewNet Crafting software is for the Singer Momento 24" Craft Cutting Machine; it’s bad. I also purchased WeCreat and LOVE IT!!! 😍 I have not used my Cricut or Brother Scan & Cut for most of the small projects (Mat Size) since I recently purchased WeCreat Laser Cutter. I can do more types of projects in less time than with a cutter. I can make anything Cricut has to offer in their cutter but better with WeCreat. But there is one drawback: I make buttons and like to use the largest mat possible to align multiple button stickers filling the mat and then cut them on a single sheet. I can’t do it with the laser. With the laser, I'm limited to a 12x18 cutting size. This brings me to rethink about the Singer Cutter I have. These are my questions for myself: Do I return it due to the worst software I’ve ever seen? Or, do I keep the Singer Momento 24" Craft Cutting Machine and use Siser software and export my projects into Singer? Or, forget the whole thing and return the Singer Momento 24" Craft Cutting Machine and try one last time to get the Siser Romeo? If I end up with another Romeo, WHEN WILL the rotary blade be available? If Siser Juliet and Romeo had roller wheels lifted with enough clearance to allow thin and thick materials to pass through, they would be wonderful cutters. If Siser Juliet & Romeo had a rotary blade, these two cutters would be the best on the market! Lastly, Siser needs to up their game with software updates; it’s taking too long for each update to come out. I have no idea which direction I will go. Either way, these are big investments, and I don’t want to waste a penny whichever route I choose. I will come back with a final decision and provide another update. 😎 PS: I hope you have another Siser updates since this video is now 6 months old.
Oh wow! You have all kinds of fun tools! I’ve heard really good things about the WeCreat. I’m very curious about the options for the cutting tool for Romeo and Juliet. I don’t think you can go wrong in your choice. I totally understand it’s a really big investment so I hope you are very happy with whatever you choose
I bought a cricut with the intentions of doing so much, then it sat in the box for a year. I eventually sold it because I was never going to use it. I still want to create things and this feels far more doable for me. I wonder if I'd be able to make a stamped design on craft paper, scan it into my computer and use the scanned image to help set it up for cutting?
I have a Cricut Maker and a Silhouette Cameo (which I used 95% of the time) and recently purchased the Romeo. I started using the Leonardo software, while I waited for my Romeo to arrive and made several designs that I saved as SVG’s and cut with my Cameo. I love that capability besides, the software is very good. Cricut is a closed system as someone mentioned, and their software is really bad compared to the Silhouette design studio, or the Leonardo design studio. Now that I have the Romeo machine, I am overjoyed with the capabilities. Mainly, cutting tiny scraps of HTV without a mat… Like you, I can see myself pretty much exclusively using the Romeo. My Maker is going in a closet...😂
Lourdes I’m so happy you got to experience Romeo. I don’t have him yet but I know he’s amazing!! I’m so impressed with everything you said as well. lol, RIP to Cricut Maker ☠️🤣
I’m gonna have to use area test more often. Totally agree with you on so many points. Siser is very transparent with questions. Another company won’t accept posts. Known print to cut issue my post was denied. Few weeks later after hiding issue on official page made announcement it was fixed. Not cool! Needless to say since have Juliet switched my print to cut and was flawless. 🙌 I am curious about these new Silhouette machines coming out too! Honestly Juliet works for me. I think the learning curve is not difficult at all. 😅
I totally know what you mean! When a company doesn’t have transparency or answer customer concerns it’s not cool. I’m curious about the silhouette as well. Can’t wait to learn more about the portrait. That looks cool.
Thank you so much for this, my Brother Cut 'n Design is nearly 10 years old so i was needing an upgrade and your honest review was really helpful in the choice on making a purchase.
Looking to purchase a Juliet. Love it's speed and Print and Cut abilities. This was SUPER helpful! Especially the things you "wish" were different. If nothing else, they are great precautions. Question for you...granted this video was a year ago so maybe it's changed since, but when you had the large sign and you moved the individual letters to maximize the space, can you "attach" the letters on the design canvas so it's saved that way, making it easier to do the next time you cut the design? I currently do this in Cricut Design Space for my designs that I make multiples of so I can maximize the space without having to do it every single time in the layers panel when I cut a design...not sure that makes sense.
Yes I could have saved the file with the letters attached. I need to go back and watch this video because I know some of the things I didn’t love have been changed. I’ll work on posting an update.
Thanks for this video! It’s very helpful. I ordered the Juliet because today when watching yesterday’s replay saw in chat someone said it was on sale at 40% off so couldn’t pass that up. I am mainly a Silhouette users, StarCraft Solo and sometimes Cricut user. Tracey
Thank you for giving us a more in depth pros and cons of Juliet. I had the Cricut Venture And returned it. Why, limited with types of blades and no videos or any information cutting fabrics. Yes, All I want a cutter for is to cut fabric. So, does the Siser Juliet cut fabric? And can I do my own designers within the Siser software to cut fabrics? Thank you.
I'm glad you liked the video. I actually haven't cut fabric with Juliet but my friend Elly has. I would recommend checking out her video. It might have the answer you're looking for. th-cam.com/video/9kxgaHAo6_k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Kpt7Qced5jSvGRmf
Thank you! really helpful video : ). I think I'm getting one- mostly because of the software (and owning your own creations!)- I hate that Cricut tried to make us pay to use the software, and even after they backed down, there's limitations to the free use (you can only have a limited amount of folders etc.)
That's one of my favorite things as well. I love owning my own designs and I was also irritated with Cricut when that all went down. FYI Leonardo does have a Pro version as well that is a monthly fee but you can still use and download your files without paying for that.

I know just how you feel. I actually Romeo as well now. I love him just as much as Juliet. You can actually download the Leonardo software before you purchase to play with it and see how it is before purchasing the machine. FYI Romeo is actually on sale I think for 20% off right now at heat transfer warehouse so it's a good time to get it. www.heattransferwarehouse.com/siser-romeo-24-vinyl-cutter/?aff=32

Yes you can. You can actually use the rulers in the software so you can place the colors in the correct place. You can actually move the rulers in the software on the top and side to get the exact placement. I’m so glad you found me, welcome😁!
My only question is what type of material can it cut? Is it only for fabrics and stickers? And can ut read barcodes? Like if I print a sticker and then I want to cut it to a shape… can it do that?
You can definitely cut out a siticker into different shapes. So far It will cut paper, faux leather, vinyl, HTV. They are working on tools for other functions as well
In regards to the comment about not being able to create in Design Space and use them in other cut programs/cutting machines: Thankfully I'm well versed with Adobe illustrator and Photoshop so I'm able to easily make/convert the designs that "can't" be used with other machines and use them with my Siser. So if you have the time and capability to teach yourself how to use that software, I highly recommend it.
FACTS! That was one of the reasons i left. I have NEVER looked back. I LOVE my Juliet. I've had it two years now and still feel the same. I will have to do another update because some things have changed since this video.

A company not scared about criticism shows the amount of confidence they have in their product. It's so reassuring to know that as a consumer.
Yes it’s so refreshing!!
One thing that I learnt about Cricut machines is that they are far too large to be a paper weight but too small to be boat anchors.

Ughhh I know it would be so good for me to learn but it’s been so challenging for me. It’s on my list though for sure
Wait… you might’ve sold me in the first 2 minutes! Cricut makes me mad because I can’t save my work outside of Design Space. 💖
FACTS! That was one of the reasons i left. I have NEVER looked back. I LOVE my Juliet. I've had it two years now and still feel the same. I will have to do another update because some things have changed since this video.

We are being inclusive of a machine? It's not even AI! I am going to think that is temporary. :\
Sorry I’m not sure what you mean.
