I’m watching your camp trip on Red River and had to giggle. Reminds me of my early trips. When I started taking paying customers my standards had to improve. Look up “Alaska Bomb-Proof Tents. Cabelas has numerous models that work. Make sure to buy lots of gravel/sand anchor spikes. They survived for years taking all Mother Nature had to give.
Thanks for the heads up about Missouri H.P. Regs. I’ll read up and re-think.

    Dennis-
That looks like y’all launched near the US Hwy 259 bridge. Texas has no control over the Red River as per say from SCOTUS decision in the late 1920’s Texas v. Oklahoma.
Oklahoma controls all of the Red River as it borders Texas, and one cannot even set up to hunt ona sandbar let alone camp on it without permission, unfortunately.
I hope that is Arkansas State Hwy 43 bridge I saw on the video, but Arkansas has a public concrete launch so one doesn’t have to go primitive on getting the boat in the water.
I wish Oklahoma would change the laws on the Red River so boaters could use it as one can use the waters bordering Arkansas and Louisiana. Just saying-🤷.

I am aware of the law. Just have chosen to ignore it. This is at 271.
If a man has that much hate to call the authorities for us trespassing on sand 10 feet from the water so be it.
I really enjoy that stretch of river. As of now never had a single issue. I do hope it continues to be that way.

So you know, really enjoy your videos. Am getting a 60/40 Mercury jet like yours here ina couple months. The insight you have given to myself and others is greatly appreciated too.👍

That boat load looks like how we pack for camping trips on the Ogeechee and Altamaha rivers in Georgia. NOTHING gets left behind.

Hi Dennis - we are in the process of rigging a new Mercury 40 jet on a 16ft boat similar to yours. What are you seeing for fuel economy? Thanks

Not sure my little mud boat would keep up in that hard sand. Prob more walking than driving
And your umbrella was leaking 🙂
