    Top speeds are different depending on the model, engine, load, and if the bimini top is up or down.
    Here are some basic top speeds with a driver only.
    13’ - 170hp = 39 mph
    18’ - 170hp = 35 mph
    18’ - 230hp = 43 mph
    21’ - 170hp = 32 mph
    21’ - 230hp = 39 mph
    These speeds are with the bimini top up. Base models do not have bimini tops and gain 2-3 mph

    So a few years back, I started watching houseboat videos. Some would come with "docks" for sea doos. I thought this video of the "switch" was about what I was thinking then. Slave real sea doos to the houseboats or pontoon boats as the propulsion system, and then you can launch the sea doo for fun while house boat is at anchor.

    Keep trying to convince yourself the helm is for first time boaters... The real reason is to keep costs low which is passed on to the buyer, so good on Sea-Doo.

    • @hammerdown3876
      @hammerdown3876 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      while im sure it is cheaper, i can attest from owning a Fish Pro Trophy 170 with the same IBR system on the helm, that IBR makes docking and power loading a snap. I was able to dock and powerload my seadoo perfect the first time, having never piloted a boat before. im sure those used to a traditional helm will hate it, but if i upgrade later to a pontoon, im going for a switch for the ease of use and familiarity it has with my ski.

    1) jet drive so there's still the issue of clogging it up
    2) is there directional steer in reverse? Normally, jet drives cant do this.
    3) a boat with no steering wheel? IDK to be honest. Not really caring for it.

    • @alowarrior
      @alowarrior 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      1) It has IDF a function that electronically disconnects the drive shaft and engages it in reverse forcing water from pump nozzle out intake grate this does not sole the clogging but minimizes the chances of clogging up.
      2) steering in reverse is not only capable but extremely fine due to a pump outlet that can change flow of water not only straight out but to the side on both sides and towards the bow. It is also to spin on its own axis as though it has a bow thruster.
      3) no suicide knob needed to complete turn and a half each way to steering lock. No more bump it forward in gear then to neutral hard over on the steering the other way then in reverse to hold a position. (If you boat you follow my train of thought) i didnt think i would like it and it turns out after the ten hour break in this is no longer a concern and i am liking it.
      Im not trying to sell you on it just wanted to answer these great questions for someone who is thinking the same thing. It is different but sometimes different is needed.

    Only problem I have with a jet powered boat or pontoon boat is in Canada nobody wants to insure it. And if they do the insurance is 20x more than a propeller powered boat.

      @autosjaviermota  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! the information is at the end of the description: Here are some basic top speeds with a driver only.
      13’ - 170hp = 39 mph
      18’ - 170hp = 35 mph
      18’ - 230hp = 43 mph
      21’ - 170hp = 32 mph
      21’ - 230hp = 39 mph
      These speeds are with the bimini top up. Base models do not have bimini tops and gain 2-3 mph
