The story of your dad that you told can make me cry (so touching), about him enjoying you all around. And the turtle your mom made in one of her hospital stays & to think of this mother having so many children, she had to part from. My mom's father passed away at the age of 34 of cancer, he was the father of 8 children. My mom's parents married very young, he was 16 & her mother 17 when married. He died a month before my mom turned 3 yrs old & he never got to see his 8 th child, she was born the end of feb & he died march 3 rd. My mom's mother later had 2 more children (twins) - so she was the mother of 10 children & she loved loved her kids coming to see her & us 30 grandchildren. Linda, everything you do in your home looks beautiful --i like the christmas tree in the public bathroom.

Linda, that’s a beautiful story about your dad. When you have a large family your active parenting years stretch out more than usual. Our youngest is 18 and our oldest is 40 with 8 children in between so children have filled our home for 40 yrs....I so understand what your dad was saying. All the activity that a large family brings defines our life for so long. ...might be tiring but it’s oh so fulfilling!

Stewart had lots to chuckle about on this one!!! I gleaned so many ideas with this Linda. I now know what is lacking in my master bath: I have a soaking tub with bubble bath and candles....but I NEED a Christmas tree in my bath....I am going to look for one tomorrow. It will look and feel so festive. This Christmas will be a little sad as both our children are moving away for jobs: one to Europe and the other to the west coast. It's going to be lonely without them. I absolutely love HOMEWORTHY and congrats to you. Thanks so much.
When I need additional seating…….I use folding chairs. However, I make custom slip covers to cover the backs of the chairs. I then tie a ribbon or decorate rope around them with an additional adornment on the back of the chair.
My mom had an aluminum tree one year with one of those color wheels that changed the tree colors. She also had a pink tree one year. I am doing retro so everything is red, white, gold and white.
With that hearty laugh....Stewart just might be Santa!!!!!! I love it. I wish I could have seen him chuckling. Linda kept going but her cheeks were flushed in a light moment. Maybe it’s not accurate, but the working relationship seems warm and happy.

My mother had dementia forv17 years and her favorite time was Christma being one of 13 children She would always say I want to go home and after a few years we realized what she meant was that feeling of Home was being with her Mom and Dad and siblings and now family. Greetings. In Knoxville, TN the Old Knoxville Holiday Victorian Home Tour is December 2nd and 3rd. One of my favorite events leading up to the holidays. Always enjoy seeing the lovely homes. So much work in preparation and you seem to make it so easy.
Seating? I use 2 end tables and 1 coffee table as benches if necessary. They are very basic and rustic. I have turned them into benches "permanently" on my covered front porch and bring them in as necessary. They're perfect. I put a cushion or little blanket on them to match the decor.
Goose is adorable! Rescue animals are the best. Your home looks lovely. I especially liked the silver holiday tree with the blue and white ornaments. I did this same theme many years ago, and I loved it. I love a blue, white, and silver theme for the holidays because it perfectly matches my living room/dining room year round theme. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with all of us. I always enjoy taking some time to watch your videos.

Im glad you are decorating to match your parlor, those blues and silvers look so nice. I too do not do the traditional red and green, I decorate to match my decor too. In olives, browns and ivory.
I love your Christmas decorating style with fresh greens and candles and the hurricanes. I notice your windo above the tub has signs of water penetrating the seal. It will eventually rot your window sill and frame. Check it out before the damage is permanent. It might just be that the water from your window box is the source and an adjustment in watering practice will solve it.

I use small screw-in gold cup hooks just on the underside of my mantel to hang stockings. So much better than the hangers and they don’t detract from the mantel decor.
I read a tip from someone who used removable command strips for Christmas stockings. I hung my stockings on them today and I like the unobtrusive look and strength of the clear hooks. My pups raced off to find Goose while he was barking.🐕☺
Agreed with the comment about being particular with the things we want & would rather send them the link or even better, pick it out at the store. As seniors we go out & get pretty much what we want or need so I’m being told hubs & I are getting tougher to buy for. Daughter works for a large nursery in Broken Arrow & gets everything at cost so I told her I wanted a Michael Carr pot & after many pictures sent, I picked the one I wanted.❤ Yay!

I love my clear plastic ghost chairs for extra seating. They stack and they don't visually compete with my queen Anne dining room chairs.
We use benches for extra seating. It's worked for years. As soon as I saw your wand, I immediately thought of Harry Potter. So fun!

Goose is the sweetest!! I'm so glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We did too with my youngest son and his wife of 4 weeks! So many great decorating ideas Linda. I did buy the brass candle holders so I'm going to use in glass hurricanes too. Great idea! Keep enjoying the series that is Christmas 😊
