    Morning Jenny, two weeks ago I transplanted an old rose bush that had struggled in its location for a few decades. It was moved just before that deep freeze! It is so happy in its new home and is pushing out new growth so fast! I haven't fed it yet though. I wanted it to just relax a bit before it started growing but she has other plans. Can't wait for the flowers!

    A great video! A neighbor offered me a big leaf hydrangea from their yard after his father passed away. I had always heard to transplant the the fall, but had never tried to attempt it. I wasn't really sure about their root systems. This video gave an awesome way to see that! A++ to Jerry & his bobcat skills! Y'all have a great day! Sending love from Fayetteville, NC ❤️

    Revisited this video, I planted some plants when I got my new house in truth I didn't spend enough time planning and now my lace cap that never really was very prolific has got a wiggle on and is huge 2x size it ever was. So this autumn we are going to renovate the area removing the bins weed which has migrated from next door.
    Is late September early October okay Time for this

    I don't know how to ask this clearly so bear with me.
    Jenny, when you transplant an established shrub does historical position of sun factor into new placement?
    So the side that never was in direct sun (side against the house) is still in shade?
    I'm just curious if it matters or if one should be mindful of positioning similar to its previous sun exposure.
    I hope I'm making sense.
    Perhaps it's more important to consider if transplanting a tree because the bark might be thicker (or stronger) on one side vs. swirling the former "dark side" towards the sun. ☀️
    I look forward to seeing the bloom show.

    • @GardeningwithCreekside
      @GardeningwithCreekside  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It should get more sun here, and no not all hydrangeas need full sun. There are many types of hydrangeas that have various sun requirements. Even though we have deer here at the house & nursery they do not bother our plants so I'm not worried about that at all.
