    I'm not super stoked on e-bikes... Because I'm catholic. I want to hate myself when I ride. Haha. But this thing looks super fun!

    Swear to god, ebikes are the cure to mountain bike boredom. They're incredibly fun, I've seen them get so many people stoked on bikes after a lapse in interest.

      So would switching to a hardtail 🤷‍♂️ , they make the trails interesting and up the riding skill ... e bikes are good for the handicapped or elderly.

    • @TheShredist
      @TheShredist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@michaelsturgeon5210 not necessarily, while they definitely benefit those groups, they also unlock the ability to ride a lot further in an outing. I'm not debating if ebikes are good or bad, it's just another avenue to explore the sport.

    Haven’t seen your videos in a While. It’s great that your on a ebike. I commented on other mtb youtube channels that almost all mtb youtubers are switching to e mountain bikes. They are just so much fun. I rode yesterday and it was below 40 degrees and believe me when I say when it’s cold it’s not fun climbing up a super steep hills on a regular bike But on my ebike(Trek rail) I just love it. Oh that polygon ebike is really nice.

    downside of xt silent hubs is that you can REALLLY hear brakes rubbing lmao very much so with new pads and rotors. Once it wears down some its true silence.

    Love that your riding a ebike. Feel sorry for your other bikes because they will fall victim to e-bike envy. The only bike that has tires full of air are my 3 e bikes. My reg bikes all need air. Other then the Devinci Spartan that just got back from Maui. If my e bike could have been shipped easier, the Devinci would still have air less tires.

    Love the specs on the Mt Bromo would definitely be my pick for an ebike. Bought a Siskiu N9 this year and absolutely love it but i am curious, i havent been seeing anyone riding one lately noticed yours was pulled down and hanging in your garage. Any reason for this? Have they stopped making them, making a new model, or just getting older and not covering them any more?

    • @TheShredist
      @TheShredist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I absolutely loved my N9, the thing that held it back for me was the geo. I sized up to an xl and it fit perfect other than the seat tube, which made it a bit cumbersome to get around. And the reach on the large is really short so I wouldn't feel very comfortable on it. I'd still be on it if I could have chopped the seat tube on mine.

    • @benrozema8007
      @benrozema8007 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheShredist thank you for taking time to reply mate. I am on an XL and you are right the seat tube is high. Im 187cm so around 6'1" and it seams perfect for me. Did cop the back of the seat to the stomach on the weekend but that probably had more to do with the fact that my ass was in between the frame and back tire 🤣

    What does "isolate the rear axle from the rear shock" mean? The entire point of suspension is that the rear axle is connected to the shock, otherwise the rear wheel would either be fixed to the frame (aka hardtail) or freely flopping around.

    • @TheShredist
      @TheShredist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its creating a different path of travel for the rear wheel since the rear triangle is moving in a manner where no point of the triangle is mounted to the frame directly like a traditional suspension design is.

  • @rider573
    @rider573 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    What kind of range and elevation are you getting with the battery?

  • @Tomcoma2832
    @Tomcoma2832 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you took away the E part of this bike and put those components on a nice carbon frame I think the price would be very similar.
    Ebikes are going to get to the price point where it just makes sense to buy them over a regular bike, for most people.

  • @derDKP
    @derDKP 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I could swear that I've seen @EdwinOlding ride this same trail on his SurRon - I would REALLY love to see a comparison between this bike and his 72V SurRon X. They must be about similar money. It would also be really cool if you collaborated and we got to hear your thoughts on his bike and the way it rides and his views on this bike and having to pedal ;)
    I'm thinking about throwing down decent money on something electric next year and this is part of my dilemma. Do I get a basic SurRon/Segway and upgrade it piece by piece as money permits, or I buy once cry once for something like this? I could see that I would get a workout riding either bike, but can I live without pedals?!? The biker in me is squaring off against the cyclist in me and I'm having a two-wheeled midlife showdown. This whole bleed-through crossover area of the market isn't one I've seen any coverage of - what are your thoughts?
    Great video, always like the way you present your material and convey your thoughts. Thanks!

      These and the surron are worlds apart. Surron is 100% a dirtbike this is a bicycle with electric assist. I have a couple ebikes as well as a surron but they are nothing alike, surron is closer to a dirt bike, its 2x the weight of these ebikes for reference but is limited to about 20-30miles stock and these ebikes Ive ridden get same mileage but they are 1/4 the battery capacity so it should tell you how different they are if they go the same distance with one having 4x the battery capacity. Also its 500w vs 4800w of power

    Ebikes are not cure for people's lazyness. You should not have any bike if you cannot be bothered by pedal non e-moped. Eco or Turbo.
