Are you reffering to the Tidal Assoluta set up or the Avantgarde Duo GT? Cause comparatively speaking the Tidal Assoluta being 3 million, while it does provide quite an impressive sound stage, I just think that for the price Avantgarde Duo GT does equally if not it being the superior option. It's just not worth paying 3 million when a pair of 70k speaker does that good of a job already.
Yes many expensive systems sound very flat, in order to retrieve more detail and give more 3d and especially promote understanding of detail. But yes the drawback is usually that you lose the energy/warmth/tonality/excitement. But again, a flat sounding system is not doomed to only sound in that way. As a user you can totally flip the sound, by just doing something simple like removing all the power cleaner devices, then you get a more emotional/raw/heavy sound that is more musical. But then you usually also say goodbye to at least 50% of the detail. So in the end, nothing is 100% good or bad, you as a user can shape whatever good or bad system you are in front of and flip the sound to your liking. And sometimes it takes using more money or maybe even saving money.
Yes the 1994 version is THE version. Also, I wanted to go to this expo, but the schedule was already full.😢 Foe me, the soundstage and separation os important.
ahhh dangggg, it was a very cool show!! Yeah immersion is a big thing for me. That feeling when your brain turns off and your mind just wanders with the music.
I do agree that Arya is the superior option when it comes to sound quality, it does everything the edition XS does but like 10% better. I was eyeing the Arya actually but the Edition XS was for sale so I immediately got the Edition XS. To me, the edition XS was 70% the price but got 90% of the sound so why not.
I listened to the 1994 live version of hotel California and I found it to be flat and boring. Maybe enough people of authority have praised it so that as new people come along, they are bullied into joining the throng of praise. The way the Eagles were all sitting in a semi circle made it look like they were performing classical music not rock. You can keep your $5 million system and your 1994 live Eagles.
You know in audiophile I do think there is an air of elitism to it. Everyone wants to be the best and are convinced that they're the best. Hobby should bring personal enjoyment and it took me quite a while to break away from the elitism and just enjoy whatever I enjoy (sorry if I didn't make that message very clear in the video). Imagine if I say I prefer a V shape sound profile over a flat profile in a conversation with a audiophile elitist, they would mock me lol. Remember, Familiarity triumphs Technicality. As long as you enjoy being an audiophile and enjoy your favorite song on your setup then its all good. It is a hobby, not a contest.
@@strudercutie let them shit about v shape. Individual preference is what matters, and just get gears that meet your specific preferences. I dislike classic Sennheiser's "veiled sound" as I crave more treble forward, although I am actually fine with the 'anemic bass' with 600/650, but that's just me.
I've been to many live concerts at Lincoln Center in NY. From that tiny clip you posted it absolutely sounded live. Not kidding

Upgrading opens up a can of worms and the can gets bigger and bigger $$. Hanging out with audiophile tinkerers will do that.
I do agree. Hobbies should bring personal joy and fulfillment, Its something we should be proud of and not being mocked for being inferior!!!
I unironically do like borings. Hifiman Edition XS that you have don't cut it for me. Gotta go to Arya on my part.
