Yes many expensive systems sound very flat, in order to retrieve more detail and give more 3d and especially promote understanding of detail. But yes the drawback is usually that you lose the energy/warmth/tonality/excitement. But again, a flat sounding system is not doomed to only sound in that way. As a user you can totally flip the sound, by just doing something simple like removing all the power cleaner devices, then you get a more emotional/raw/heavy sound that is more musical. But then you usually also say goodbye to at least 50% of the detail. So in the end, nothing is 100% good or bad, you as a user can shape whatever good or bad system you are in front of and flip the sound to your liking. And sometimes it takes using more money or maybe even saving money.

I unironically do like borings. Hifiman Edition XS that you have don't cut it for me. Gotta go to Arya on my part.

The speakers the absolute most important, if you don't have these, the amplifier becomes less important. When it comes to speakers, you should buy as new as possible, technological development is fast. He recommends JBL as particularly good, affordable. These expensive facilities, many these 20000 dollar speakers you can get one for 5000 dollars equal and better. Wondering if they are speaker brands from China for 500 dollars that are way above their price range. Those who work in selling HiFi, I have noticed, never compare a product within the price range of 200 dollars with 1500 dollars, it is understandable they do not want to lose their work. I get the feeling that sound can be a subject, it can be some propaganda, US and Western PR, they are champions. Show. Just like investors, Trump, Ukraine, amps, you want your $5000 amp to be the best. You will be disappointed if you could get as good for $1500. These blind tests between pepsi and Coca Cola, several like Coca Cola, but on blind tests they choose pepsi.

Maybe enough people of authority have praised it so that as new people come along, they are bullied into joining the throng of praise. The way the Eagles were all sitting in a semi circle made it look like they were performing classical music not rock. You can keep your $5 million system and your 1994 live Eagles.

Hi, this is one of my favourites. Something I'm hoping to do during my time in Vietnam. Find and document a city and parts of a city that most likely won't exist in the next decade. I hope such places are preserved, even in unmaintained the way they are, because sometimes during restoration and renovation, places loose their identity and reason for existing in the first place.
