BREAKING NEWS!- It's highly rumored now that the Main Street Theatre is completely canceled. There are also rumors floating around that the budget from this project is being allocated to another project that will be placed in Adventureland. Also D23 Japan has provided some more details about some attractions. The Guardians of the Galaxy ride at Epcot was 100% confirmed to be a roller coaster and will be one of the longest indoor coasters in the world. Also, the Star Wars Hotel will be directly connected to Star Wars Galaxy's Edge at Hollywood studios and it was confirmed that Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway will be open in 2019!
So happy about all this however I’ve never even been Disney world but my mum says one day we are going when I’m able to save up fir myself with a job ......can’t wait 😂😭
FoxieTheFat Cat I know I just went recently and took a picture with the sign because after going on everything was broken and it would be hard to fix so I knew it was time. :/
Erin Morton It's just strange that they are taking out a ride that is about movies in the park that is about Hollywood. The Mickey mouse ride can go anywhere. Hollywood studios doesn't feel like a park about Hollywood anymore. They already taken out a bunch of stuff to just add franchise themes like toy story and star wars.
The Universal/Disney Marvel rights is kinda complicated. So from what we understand no US park can use the name "Marvel" to market anything related to Marvel which is why Disneyland has their "Summer of Heroes" event. Universal is allowed to use any Marvel IPs they are currently using in the parks as well as their respected "families" they belong to in any region east of the Mississippi (So pretty much at Universal orlando) This means that Walt Disney World is not able to use a majority of the Marvel properties, but they can however use Guardians since Universal does not include those characters in the park. Not 100% sure but Guardians is supposed to have a crossover with Avengers that would come out in the next Avengers film, but since the recent announcement of Walt Disney World's plan to use the Guardians IP was made before the film was released, it puts them in the clear. Now with Disneyland the contract becomes much simpler; Disneyland can use, what looks like, all the Marvel properties BUT can't use the actual word Marvel to describe any of them. So the new Marvel land will probably not include marvel anywhere in the land's name. If anyone else is better educated on the Marvel/Universal contracts and wants to add any corrections feel free to chime in!
The fact that they're replacing The Great Movie ride for a Mickey Ride makes me sick to my stomach..., The Great Movie ride just needed an update or refurbishment, not replacing. :(
Owen Parker I know the reason for the change, but it's still sad. They could have fought harder to renew the contract. Or, they could have converted it into a ride highlighting classic Disney films. A Mickey ride doesn't fit with the movie studio theme of that particular park. It belongs in Magic Kingdom not Disney Studios.
It has nothing to do with visual effects, but to preservation of history. The Great Movie ride was about paying respect to old Hollywood and showing the history of film. The whole exterior of the ride was built around this then. Putting a Mickey coaster inside doesn't make sense with the outside theming, to say the least.
Sub Par They only effect driven ride was the Backlot Tour. It was about how practical effects were done. I understand why it was closed. The Great Movie Ride is s whole different thing. Also, I don't care what kind of Mickey ride it is, it's not a good fit for the location. By stripping the Movie themes out of Disney Studios it's becoming a hodgepodge of things that make no sense together. The park was always about nostalgia and the history of Hollywood. Now, it's becoming Star Wars and Toy Story world.., :(
The problem is… Epcot used to be all about learning, but unfortunately the learning aspect is being replaced with entertainment. Even the World Showcase has deviated from its original intention… to learn about the countries and people who live there- where they came from and who they are today. So, now instead about going on a boat ride in Mexico to learn about the history of the Mexican people… you watch Donald being chased, a’ la “Three Caballeros”. The “Maelstrom” brought you threw the mythology of the Norse people into todays time. But, now it’s a movie ride… Entertaining, but I learned nothing about the culture.
Unfortunately, they’re trying to turn Epcot away from the futuristic city aspect and include more characters, theming, and other things more like the magic kingdom. Sometimes I get upset about Epcot changing and I remember that Disney’s main goal is to make money, and if it’ll make them more money, they’ll do it. However, I can’t blame them for it, as they are a big company, but it is a little sad.
Well, Epcot is their least popular park, so they need to do something to attract people and earn money. If they keep it like you guys want, they'd probably have to close the park in the near future. My sister went to Disney fo the 1st time ever last week, with her 3 kids, hubby and another family, they went to 7 parks, but never went to Epcot, cause people told her it was kinda boring. It's sad, cause they didn't get to know Epcot. They went to the other 3 Disney parks and to Universal Studios Florida 2 times & Islands of Adventure 2 times. They ended liking Universal Orlando just a little better. On Disney she loved HS & AK, but didn't enjoy MK much cause it was so full! Before they went on that vacation, a great friend of mine told me that she also liked Universal way better than Disney. She said she has gone to Disney so many times since she was a kid, but said the lines are too long and UO is overall more enjoyable. It's kinda sad, cause I love Disney more! But WDW has to step up their game!
@@cremadefresita I'm more of a Disney fan, but everyone else I know, likes Universal more. But don't get me wrong, they also love Disney, they just enjoy the Universal rides and parks more. And I get it, just look at Islands of Adventure, so beautiful, very well themed and full of rides everywhere. I love their lands connected to each other, especially Seuss Land, Marvel, HP Land Land and JP Land.
strawberry creme Just look at the spider man ride vs the transformers ride. They’re the same track, and the same ride vehicle. Due to being newer, transformers has a smoother ride and newer effects, but they’re still the same track layout.
Danielle Adri Ya but Toy Story Land in Honk Kong is no where what's coming to DHS and I'm not able to travel to Shanghai conveniently so having Tron in my backyard is a lot easier. 👍🏻

I'm so glad they're adding more things to Epcot! It's my favorite park and the new rides seem really cool. Though I think that would make more people go there and it's my favorite park *because* not a lot of people go there so I can just enjoy it for what it is. But still, it's cool.
Besides the closing of The Great Movie Ride everything I'm pretty hyped for all this! I hope they keep the giant epcot ball the same when I finally have kids to take.
Definitely Tron! We are all so excited and have been immersed in all things D23 these past couple weeks with all the other TH-cam creators. Seems like it was a bigger deal this year! Glad to find your channel. Seems like you organized all the info in one well done video. Thanks!
Everything looks amazing except for Guardians of the Galaxy in Epcot - it looks like an amazing ride, but it doesn't fit in Epcot, unless they somehow manage to theme it so that it has an edutainment factor.
@@iamarizonaball2642 www.piratesandprincesses.net/former-disney-world-vp-kathleen-kennedy-pushed-for-star-wars-galaxys-edge-to-be-based-on-sequel-trilogy/ I so wanted Batuu to be in the original trilogy canon.
I was told that I went with some of my family members when I was 1 or 2 yrs. old at the time. I don't even remember that sadly. With all these new attractions coming, I really hope I have a chance one day so that I can experience a once in a lifetime opportunity, as Disney World is the highest on my bucket list of things to do!
I have dwarfism - I cannot go on Rollercoasters, I can't even go on thrill rides or kiddy coasters (the 7 dwarves mine train is too intense for me) Disney seems super focused on thrill rides currently, so hopefully they'll add in some dark rides too, most intense ride I am still able to do is Frozen.
If Ratatouille is just like the Paris ride, that is a fairly gentle trackless dark ride, so there's that at least. Hard to say precisely what the Mickey and Minnie ride will actually be, but it might be another one (I wonder if they're re-using the Great Movie Ride's ride system).
Matt McIrvin Hopefully! I always loved going to Disney because I always felt like I could go on most of the attractions but now almost all new ones are thrill based
To answer both of your points, the new Mickey ride will be trackless so GMR is being gutted entirely, but with it being a trackless dark ride, the trill factor would probably still be comparable to the other classic dark rides at the park
2018 and 2019 are very big year for disney parks beacause toy story land coming in 2018 and star wars land coming in 2019 and rurmors of a incribles roller coaster to replace calfrinoa screman in 2018 or 19 what do you think will be the best idea
Justin Hawkins The reason it switched from Alien Encounter to Stitch was partly because of kids being scared, but it was mostly the fact that Lilo And Stitch was a popular IP at the time and Disney wanted to capitalize on it. It was one of the more idiotic moves that Disney did, but I understand why they did it from a business standpoint.
i've been binge watching on ride videos from disney in shanghai, tokyo and such so seeing that tron and ratatouille are coming to orlando makes my heart happy !!!!
I am most excited about the Tron addition. If it is like your video showed, it will be a somewhat "dark" inside roller coaster, similar to our beloved Space Mountain! And, I agree, this addition is much needed... Thanks for this video! Ken
I'm really sad to see some of the old content that I remember for so long going away throughout the years, but very excited to see new ideas and attractions to keep Disney relevant. I cant wait to go again with my family!
Pretty amazing that we got 9 out of 10 of these, with only losing the Main Street Cinema...pretty solid!! Although 4 years later & still no Tron opening date 😂😂😂
A Micky mouse is a great idea because Mickey started it all but replacing the great movie ride is very unwise. Disney should really purchase more land because they have a lot of great ideas but they just don't have the space. The other rides have to suffer for it ex the great movie ride. I personally loved that ride. It's saddening to see it go.
I feel like animal kingdom is more about conservation and saving the animals then the actual animals themselves. That being said I don’t feel this would fit in with the theming of the park. I know they managed to fit pandora in but avatar’s message is also about conservation which made it fit right it. Also in a realistic point of view, the bustling city of zootopia would just look out of place with the old school theming of animal kingdom. Sorry I didn’t expect to write this much I just wanted to put my two cents into the matter 😂
Actually if it will be Disney World will get 4 trackless rides including ratatouille,Mickey And Minnie ride,The alien ride at toy story land, and Star Wars battle escape
i never heard of gondola in walt disney word until today its maybe disneyland fans who came up with that idea to put it in walt disney world to feel the vibe from disneyland california now
Adam Ferry I just think that Disney World has a lot more technicality and business to it, and I think that the company isn't treating the original park to it's potential.
I live right next to Disneyland and I disagree. I think they are treating Disneyland MUCH better than it's potential. Look at the Matterhorn for example. It was a beloved attraction, and had no technicality difficulties, but despite it being in perfect condition, they gave it a full refurb in 2015, adding new effects, a new scene, 3 new yetis, and lots more. Meanwhile, expedition Everest DOES have a problem (it's yeti is broken) and it has been for 6 years. And Disney isn't doing anything about that.
I'm going in 2021 for a marching band trip! All those new 2021 additions sound great! Hopefully their open by the time I get there. That will be so cool going on the 50th Aniversary!
The Guaridans of the Galaxy roller coaster is the most welcomed new edition: Disney needs more thrill rides. Also, once the Star Wars Galaxy Edge opens, hopefully that will take some of the pressure of the Avatar lines so I can finally get to ride one -- since they didn't have a fast pass and the Avatar lines were always three hour plus.
I agree Disney needs more Thrill Rides, but a movie IP Based coaster is not what EPCOT needs, it should be in the Studios. This will be a terrible idea for "Future World". The idea and theme of Epcot Center vanishes more and more each year, it's strayed so far from it's original intention. I don't know about you or anyone else. But I've never based my deciding to go to Disney World, spending thousands of dollars, because "I love a Movie Soooooo Much that I have to ride it's ride." I decide that based on the absolute quality and originality of the parks, not recycling and shitting IP merch in my face. I'm actually put-off by their blatant over marketing and their raping of the parks of their quality just to yank a few more bucks from a fan of a movie/IP of theirs. It's actually very sad that the Imagineers can't create original content for the park like what made it popular in the first place, instead of forcing in an IP for no reason. Think of all the timeless Park Attractions that are not IP related and are the most popular today. PotC, Haunted Mansion, Small World, Jungle Cruise, Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, Spaceship Earth, World of Motion, Horizons, and more. All of these things are classics and tied to the PARK not a specific time-period/movie release. They need more original park-specific content instead of forcing IPs down our throats at nauseam....
Lauren Robinson Yeah, it was kinda showing its age, not to mention that Disney's Contract with the company is almost up, these old rides can't be here forever
It's going to be converted into Guardians of the Galaxy like the one in Disneyland, they just haven't announced when yet. Considering the GotG skin is very popular over at Disneyland, it's only a matter of time until Orlando gets it, too.
King Spooky Skeleton yeah well don't forget Paris they only have the ratatouille ride and that's it and they don't have that many characters and no celebrities come to Disneyland Paris :(
It's awesome they're adding more Traceless rides and new lands! I just wish it wasn't so expensive. But honestly I've waited for a traceless ride in Walt Disney World.
"better" in what way? Will the Guardians roller coaster be more exciting from an amusement park standpoint? almost assuredly...but it has not place being at Epcot. I'm not saying that such a ride should not exist at all. Of course it should. But they have a park for rides like that. Multiple in fact. That is not Epcot and its not wrong for people to question and go "wait a second...this isn't what Epcot is supposed to be. Epcot can be updated and made to fit the times without making it just like all the other parks".
Thoughtful Av there is a pretty nice Tiana's Place on the Disney Wonder ship, if u wanna check that out online. Sadly, cruises aren't really affordable to everyone, so I understand the annoyance lol. I think it'd be a welcome addition to fantasy land or Hollywood studios.
Finally! I was just talking to my family about how sparse Epcot was, and how cool it would be if the Ratatouille ride was in the France pavilion! I'm so excited!!
That was the rumor, but they're not. The Tron coaster will go outside the railroad tracks to the left of Space Mountain, behind Tomorrowland Speedway. They haven't announced any plans to close Tomorrowland Speedway.
...Actually, if Disney's concept rendering is accurate (it may well not be)... the Walt Disney World Railroad would have to go right through the Tron ride building. Which would be pretty wild.

I'm glad I finally found someone who gives unbiased thoughts on certain changes to the parks.
When all this stuff will be done Disney will be called the “most lit place on earth” instead of the happiest place on earth
Rebecca Gauvin Right 😂
EPIC
Rebecca Gauvin Disneyland is the happiest place on 🌎
That Tron Ride gonna be Dope can’t wait
I'm totally looking forward to ratatouille
Now Star Wars galaxy edge and Mickey Mouse ride is coming in 2019!!!
2018 and 2019 are very big year for disney parks beacause toy story land coming in 2018 and star wars land coming in 2019 and rurmors of a incribles roller coaster to replace calfrinoa screman in 2018 or 19 what do you think will be the best idea
YEEEEEEEEEEES !!!!!!!!
They need to BRING BACK Alien Encounter!!!
Wouldn't that be cool!
Dreaklock why did they ever take that down? I heard it was bc kids were too scared but I loved it!
Dreaklock is that the one replace by stitch
Foar course GD Yes. Stitch used to be Alien encounter
Guardians of the galaxy ride :)
I'm excited for all of them but the wait for most of them is soooooo long I can't wait 4 years for all of this!
Your videos are GREAT #TPMCrew
I am most excited about the Tron addition. If it is like your video showed, it will be a somewhat "dark" inside roller coaster, similar to our beloved Space Mountain! And, I agree, this addition is much needed... Thanks for this video! Ken
I absolutely love the ratatouille ride at disneyland paris 😍😍😍
I'm really sad to see some of the old content that I remember for so long going away throughout the years, but very excited to see new ideas and attractions to keep Disney relevant. I cant wait to go again with my family!
If they give you a costume I will call up" can I have a ahsoka costume please?
The lost Padawan yess
I love these Disney world videos!!
I'M SUPER EXCITED FOR TRON. IT LOOKS AWSOME. BUT YOU DO HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT BECAUSE IT WOULD BE A NEW RIDE...IT WILL HAVE A LOOOOOOOOONG LINE.
G Ramos there probably will be fast passes for it I’m assuming
Me tooo
i loved everything besides the closing of some great attractions...cheers
I'm so excited for Tron!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pretty amazing that we got 9 out of 10 of these, with only losing the Main Street Cinema...pretty solid!! Although 4 years later & still no Tron opening date 😂😂😂
yeah
A Micky mouse is a great idea because Mickey started it all but replacing the great movie ride is very unwise. Disney should really purchase more land because they have a lot of great ideas but they just don't have the space. The other rides have to suffer for it ex the great movie ride. I personally loved that ride. It's saddening to see it go.
Miracle Johnson why is that unwise making a crappy ride better by retheming it
Seth Reed its not crappy but ig Thts Ur opinion so..... whatev
You are such a good youtuber. You've earned more subs.
+TPMvids, LOVE YOUR CHANNEL! I was thinking of Zootopia Land in Animal Kingdom Park.
Thanks! Yea, don't know how much weight that rumor holds. Not sure if Zootopia fits with AK's message
Ellen's Energy Adventure and The Great Movie ride are two of my favorite rides and they will greatly be missed.
Are you sure that the Mickey ride is trackless, I haven't heard anything about that and I don't think WDW needs 3 trackless rides.
Yup! Wouldn't be surprised if tracked rides at Disney become a thing of the past and any new ride will utilize a trackless system
Actually if it will be Disney World will get 4 trackless rides including ratatouille,Mickey And Minnie ride,The alien ride at toy story land, and Star Wars battle escape
TPMvids I don't think tracked rides will become a thing of the past because it won't work for thrill rides that need tracks to be fun and cool
i never heard of gondola in walt disney word until today its maybe disneyland fans who came up with that idea to put it in walt disney world to feel the vibe from disneyland california now
So-Cal Theme Park Fan Yeah, it’s trackless!
Excited about all the rides, can't wait to go back, we are waiting until 2021 when its all complete.
closing down The Great Movie Ride is bullshit
Brenden Samsel atleast i rode the great movie ride
Brenden Samsel that ride is a pile of bullshit
I AM A PILE OF BULLSHIT
The very essence of “Hollywood Studios” goes goodbye
I always thought it was way too long. But it was immersive and good. RIP
Thanks and Awesome! I'm in Animal Kingdom right now and Pandora is BEAUTIFUL!
I'm most excited for Nintendo World at Universal Studios and the New Harry Potter ride at Island of Adventure!!
Super stoked for the Guardians and Tron attractions coming!
Now could you do a top 1 addition to Disneyland?
Rakoon CD Disneyland is getting a new trash can lol. They got the shaft
ReviewsTechNow Disneyland will get Galaxies edge, DCA just recently got a 1.5 billion dollar expansion and now it's time for WDW to get spruced up
The reason DW got so much more stuff is because their 50th anniversary is coming up. Like Disneyland got a heck ton of stuff when it had its 60th.
This was uploaded on my birthday!!!
Why is a theater ahead of Star Wars land and the Star Wars hotel
Because a theater takes significantly less time to build compared to a new land/hotel.
the new kansas city theater i am not sure why walt disney world want it their for?
Ikr
I know right
Because a new theater sounds better than something just dedicated to Star Wars...not everyone likes Star Wars.
Im surprised at how much disney is adding to their parks. So many projects, so quickly... there'll be something new every summer! So exciting 😀!
2019 anyone?
Nope just me okay
2020
2021
2022
Jayden Crist it’s not even 2021 yet!!!!!
2020
I'm going in 2021 for a marching band trip! All those new 2021 additions sound great! Hopefully their open by the time I get there. That will be so cool going on the 50th Aniversary!
Tron!! Only because the chances of me going to Hong Kong are like zero 😂😮
It’s not even Hong Kong, it’s shanghai
heyitskymberly it’s coming to magic kingdom!! In Florida
Yep
They building it now in Florida in the Magic kingdom on TH-cam now opens in 2021
Thanks for the news tomorrow I’m going disney
NOOOOOOOOO THE GREAT MOVIE RIDE!!!!!! IM GOING IN MARCH AND IT CLOSES IN AUGUST WHY!!!!!
I love all of the new attractions. I see a road trip coming in the next couple of months.
Teddy Ruxpin I hope it bombs 💣
Suuuper hyped for Tron! Disney needed to show a little more love to those movies
Disney World of Disneyland? I choose Disney world 😊
Spuishy Unicorn no it's too hot there so Disneyland is better plus, it's more fun and doesn't rain much I think your opinions are false
Indiana Jones False?
The tron ride 😍😍
Wait ! A tron ride like the one in shanghi
Paul Mueller yup!!
That would mean Shanghai will likely get its own Space Mountain too in the future
kendrick5501 hmmm interestinf
So pumped for the TRON attraction!!
Tron and Guardians of the galaxy and Mickey and Minnie Ride!
Really glad about the Skyliner I was on the Skyway when I was a toddler just before they got rid of it.
I love Disney
I AM EXTREMELY EXCITED FOR ALL OF THEM
I'm excited for tron
Omg Star Wars and Tron have me like a little kid!!! Lol. Yaaaaay!
im so sad the great movie ride is closing
Lauren Robinson Yeah, it was kinda showing its age, not to mention that Disney's Contract with the company is almost up, these old rides can't be here forever
Goodbye Xenomorph, may you be remembered...
Toy Story Land opened today!😄
LOVE your channel
After all that and they still have not updated the Carousel of Progress.....
Erin Morton At least be glad it's not getting taken down like The Great Movie Ride and Tower of Terror
Wait tower of terror is being taken down
Nugget he is referring to the Disneyland one, which was turned into a Guardians of the Galaxy ride.
It's going to be converted into Guardians of the Galaxy like the one in Disneyland, they just haven't announced when yet. Considering the GotG skin is very popular over at Disneyland, it's only a matter of time until Orlando gets it, too.
They want to keep it as original as possible, changing stuff would ruin it in my opinion.
Great presentation. Thanks. Lots to look forward to.
Meanwhile Disneyland gets nothing.... lol
It's Disney World's 50th coming up so they have to give them all the attention. You have Marvel land coming up so,
Hey, at least we get Star Wars Land first.
King Spooky Skeleton yeah well don't forget Paris they only have the ratatouille ride and that's it and they don't have that many characters and no celebrities come to Disneyland Paris :(
I actually think it would be better in CA if they built another disneyworld in San diego huge and phased disneyland out.
Don't you have pixar pier and marvel land?
WOW! The Star Wars land looks fantastic, I really need to go there.
Spend some more money. Disney has hoarded money for too long!
It's awesome they're adding more Traceless rides and new lands! I just wish it wasn't so expensive. But honestly I've waited for a traceless ride in Walt Disney World.
Good thing I got to ride great movie ride and Ellen before they are getting replaced
Kaylie Quinn aww you missed out on some good stuff
Kaylie Quinn but I bet Guardians will be better
I never got to ride GMR cuz my 14 year old big sis said it sucked
"better" in what way? Will the Guardians roller coaster be more exciting from an amusement park standpoint? almost assuredly...but it has not place being at Epcot. I'm not saying that such a ride should not exist at all. Of course it should. But they have a park for rides like that. Multiple in fact. That is not Epcot and its not wrong for people to question and go "wait a second...this isn't what Epcot is supposed to be. Epcot can be updated and made to fit the times without making it just like all the other parks".
Thank you for your perfect English. I can understand everything you're saying. I'm from Brazil.
IM SO MAD THAT THERES NOT A TIANAS PLACE YET
That seems like a great restaurant idea! The obvious place would be New Orleans Square in Anaheim, but I don't know if there's room.
Thoughtful Av Tiana's place on the Disney Cruise Wonder. Also a kind of themed restaurant for her on the Fantasy too
I'm really excited for the Tron ride can't wait
Was actually looking forward to less movie rides, but it's what the fans want.
Or what Disney marketing wants.
LoneSoul06 well Disney is basically *movies, cartoons* ...and the parks
Looking forward to all the new Stars Wars themes, and the Hotel... and the Mission Space Restaurant!
TRON!!!!! YES!!!!
Finally! I was just talking to my family about how sparse Epcot was, and how cool it would be if the Ratatouille ride was in the France pavilion! I'm so excited!!
They are replacing tomorrow land speedway with Tron
That was the rumor, but they're not. The Tron coaster will go outside the railroad tracks to the left of Space Mountain, behind Tomorrowland Speedway. They haven't announced any plans to close Tomorrowland Speedway.
...Actually, if Disney's concept rendering is accurate (it may well not be)... the Walt Disney World Railroad would have to go right through the Tron ride building. Which would be pretty wild.
Carson Milk NOOOOOOOOO SPEEDWAY IS MY FAV AND THIS YEAR WAS MY FIRST TIME DRIVING NOOO
Don't worry, the Speedway isn't going anywhere (for now). The Tron coaster is going to be behind it.
Carson Milk no they aren't
Hands down Tron sounds the most exciting. Sounds awesome
Yes - Agree 100%! 👧👦🐭🏰
