    I actually stumbled across this video. I know both of these young men and I must commend them for the manner they spoke during the entire video. They spoke about hope without sounding hopeless, the pitfalls of being/doing the wrong thing at the wrong place/time. Conveyed the significance of McKinley and its history, and how thriving the neighborhood used to be. I am a proud SBR resident, and there's nowhere else I don't think I would've preferred to grow up in! Great representation young brothers!😀

You can’t judge their intelligence by them “slaughtering the English language”. It is a mistake to do so. This is one of the best HoodVlogs videos. These dudes showing him around should honestly do vlogging or even journalism/some sort of media around their city to show it off because - even though they said how run down things are due to fires and things being closed down, they still took you around the hood and showed you the pride of it and it totally gave you the vibe for it in a completely positive way. They didn’t focus too much on the crime or violence that goes on. It was like - yeah it’s there, but there’s so much more to us, and I loved seeing that. It was dope. All while they gave some shouts out and showed love towards the neighborhood businesses and local figures still standing. Shout out to them.

    I thoroughly enjoyed watching these young men speak. They are very intelligent men who you can tell we’re raised with good role models in what was a tough environment for them. I love how they weren’t trying to flex or be extra hard for the camera. They were simply walking around and talking about their neighborhood. They came across as very real and genuine. The only difference between them and someone else who grew up in a more affluent area isn’t talent or intelligence because they have that but opportunity. They’re still very very young and I wish them nothing but success in their future and hope they can can our that environment and move to greater things.

    Two of the realest/good hearted guys Ive seen on this channel. One thing I still can't understand is with a mindset like they have, why can't they just make a plan and leave for something "better" and "greateer". What's holding them back? One argument I can think of is nostalgia and commitment to community, which I can respect. But wouldn't they be able to help their community more if they go on and strive for greatness?

    • @jel4275

      Hard to leave a place you were born and raised at and the only thing you ever knew. Think about it, you're entire family and friends are there. All your memories, good times, bad times etc. Not that easy to just wake up and say "hey lets move to this random place and never come back"

    • @andrewperez7844
      @andrewperez7844 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jel4275 I completely understand that view. My counter view would be what about immigrants who leave everything they know including potentially having to abandon their language to come to anywhere in America.
      I don't say thisto be provactive or insulting in any way. Genuinely interested to hear from you or anyone else and if you think this is a valid comparison or not.
      Edit: Also, it's not to say they can't go back to visit family and friends at any time. Them moving away from these situations could potentially help their current and for sure their future family. I did not come from a situation like their's, but I did make a move like the one I mention, as well as my wife who is an immigrant and came to the US solo. All love, just seeking understanding.
