      @ohmyjosh3065 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah who even shops at SPAR, those prices are laterally double compare to Checkers and Pick n Pay. I'm surprised there's even people shopping there.

  • @thewarriorbunny
    @thewarriorbunny 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    While gloomy in CT we have a heat wave in Johannesburg.
    Many stores don't like you recording. Some stores are competitive. Spars are franchises. Sometimes the lay out or how they display their products or dress the store can make them better than others.... so there was likely a sign telling you not to record in store.
    Fruit and Veg (food lovers market) they have asked me not to record... when I asked why...the security told me they are protecting their displays. Other people come and steal the ideas and layout.
    There is a lot of psychology behind where food is placed in a store.
    Eg: milk and bread are always near the back. So you need to pass other products. Fruit and veg are usually near the front door, giving you the idea of healthy, fresh and wholesome....

    I thoroughly enjoyed your videos and I especially enjoyed seeing the prices and the conversion to dollars. Thanks so much for sharing. I think that the general rule is that the larger the local content is in terms of labor (like the hotel) the lower is the price in USD. The lower the local content (like those shaving blades) the more the price approximates what we pay over in the U.S.

      There are areas, just like in any country where you should not go walking around alone... but in general I have had many of my family from EU visit and the have loved their stays and have returned.
      Don't go jogging with your phone at night. If you going on a hike to some lonely spot...go with friends. Just be aware to not make yourself an easy target.
