I got some good laughs (especially the wake episode) but felt it really lacked character development. The audience was just expected to know who everyone was rather than giving them any depth. The Hannah and Lizzie characters were way too over the top for an Australian workplace; I thought an AU version would've been more like the UK original. Australian workpaces are more backward and reserved rather than "in your face" like the US version.
Worth noting Australia has a decent history of comparable comedies. There are brief clips of Utopia and Fisk in this video, but you could also add The Games and Frontline which both predated the UK office and looking back were really ahead of the curve in the shift to single-camera mockery documentary sitcoms.
At first I was happy that he wasn't holding the mic, but then you can see it shaking as he moves his arm, so actually yeah he was holding it. But beyond that, that I was fixated on dumb details like the microphone instead of anything this guy was saying probably goes to show how interesting the video was. Can we have something fresh instead of the same pretty boy zoomer giving his opinions about mediocre TV.
People are just realizing The office was just never funny, or entertaining. The dry, shitty jokes are falling flat now Because it doesn't hit the Nostalgia bug people were used to but the truth is its being delivered by unknown actors.
That’s a bit bullshit. I disliked The Office US for so long because everyone around wouldn’t shut up about how good it was and I’d only see some out of context clips. Only a couple of years ago did I actually sit down and watch it. It’s very funny to this day
great delivery, great editing. seriously great vid
Much appreciated!
The Australian version of the Office is an embarrassment to Aussie comedy
Hate deserved F

No. The UK original is brilliant. You have no sense of humour.
