Thanks for the video. Unlike the other insecure trolls commenting about the center stand being pointless, along with this maneuver , I'm not afraid to admit that at 5`10", 170lbs , my Burgman 400 is cumbersome and awkward to push off the center stand while straddling it. Especially if facing slightly uphill. That's why I searched to see if I'm the only one looking for a different way. This is much better.
There is a safer way - with the bike on the centre stand, stand to the side with the left hand on the left handle grip, press down on the pillion seat and bounce the rear wheel and gently push forward and the bike will pop off the stand with you holding it steady. Putting the side stand down before , makes it even safer. Try it and I am an old grandad of 77 and has no problem.
@oymeit filmed it yesterday finally :) going to edit it today and post
@Aleidenberg hi, that was not me in the video but i filmed it... I will have him come in and reply to your questions because I never do this way.
@micbergsma thanks mic i cant wait to see it!!
beautiful! i like it. hey mic can you make a vid on adjusting rear suspension.
Gracias y bienvenidos! Yo voy a tener freno fuild cambio, el cambio de refrigerante líquido, y frente a la eliminación videos guardabarros hasta pronto
@uptowndisco2
Not a flap, just a square hole opposite the side stand below the floor board.
@robertwillmer yeah... I would be nervous if i do that way. He has guts haha
What are the two 'vents' on your front wing? looks cool.
The primary point of using the center stand is so that way you can start the bike and let it sit there and idle and warm up as soon as you put the side stand down it will shut down the engine so this maneuver seems kind of pointless it's just as easy to pick the bike up off the side stand to take the side stand up start it and let it sit there and idle one or two minutes and then take off after that.
@jaime121046 muchas gracias! la punta en el video no era yo, era mi amigo haha i tengo miedo a probar eso! ir burgman!
@cmfernandez9283 Thanks very much for your reply. Anxious to pick up my Burgman 400. Unfortunately there's no certain date when they'll be arriving, probably due to the terrible situation in Japan.
As a prospective Burgman 400 buyer, I watched with interest your rear push center stand dismount. It looks easy enough, but couple questions: 1) was the parking brake on during this procedure? 2) does positioning the handlebars to the left make it easier (safer) fall the bike to the left, onto the side-stand? Thanks! Al.
Wow the 400 is huge compared to my 125
Wow, that looks really cool!
But I think I should not try to copy that: I never used the parking brake so far, and I am sure I would not only forget that brake, but also put the bike on the wrong side ... ;-)))
What exactly is the point of this maneuver? Is it somehow easier or safer than taking it off the center-stand while sitting on the bike? I see this as a useful technique only for those with very short inseam, but in that case I'd rather skip the use of center-stand altogether.
I agree. What's the point of this? Most people can just simply straddle the bike while seated and rock forward hard one time and the bike will just move farward and come off the center stand.
mic I keep reading about a hidden security flap that allows a chain to be passed through the frame on the 07+ models, do you know where it is located , I have looked for it on mine but I cant find any hidden flap ?
I dunno. That'd scare the bejeezus out of me...
@robertwillmer haha yeah bike would roll away and crash :-0!!
What if it falls to the right side?
Yikes, that looks risky, I'll just straddle and push a couple times.
Do u still own it
Anno ?
haha then don't watch! I was showing this video to two friends and it ended up going over 50k views
Seat seems to be jammed turn key n it won't pop seat open.... Any solutions on how to open another way ??
Try push the rear part of seat where lock is while turn the key to unlock... then spray the latch with WD40
MicBergsma gonna try now thanx
