Judging by what I saw in this documentary, Australia‘s law enforcement and justice system come across as totally worthless.
Allowing an entire family of murderous psychos to thrive throughout decades, only waking up when ultimately, cops are the victims - and then pampering these what can only be described as monsters by giving them the most lenient sentences imaginable.
Am I wrong in my assessment? Maybe someone from Australia could give me a more precise idea.
Australia and the UK both do this even child murderers get very few years. Here in the US they get life or death sentences. I don't understand the way they think.

Yes totally worthless!!!! It’s an injustice system that they have in Australia, no wonder people are violent, they know they will get a slap on the wrist, after a number of murders.
Here in the US it took decades to pull apart and break the mafia. Even the FBI couldn't touch them. The family probably gave money to the right politicians. Regardless of all that, even if this family was convicted of the crimes they committed I doubt the sentence would be anything like it would be in US.

The basis is what you can prove in court not what you think happened or the rumours. They are sentenced on what we can prove not what we hear by rumour. However as a society there is no reason to deal with Kath as a reformed person unless she has confessed her sins and truly repented. Individually we make our own choices on who we mix with and who we don’t. This is a criminal family that she led. If is interesting how many of the survivors want no more to do with her.

Your body goes into shock. I was stone cold sober when I got shot in the thigh. I've heard getting shot in the guts hurts pretty bad, but as another commenter said, it depends on many factors (caliber, type of ammo, where in the body you were shot, etc.)

FYI. We have a show based off of this family in America. It’s called Animal Kingdom. It’s pretty on point now that I’ve learned of the real clan.
It’s on point as far as the general outline of a family criminal enterprise. But these guys are way more brutal than the Cody’s. But Animal Kingdom is my one of my favorite shows of all time.

I'm sure many people are thinking this; on what level of importance, given the area and crime, was it necessary for these two young policemen to sent to look at an abandoned car at four o clock in the morning? Wouldn't it have been more expedient, and far safer for them to have been sent in daylight? It just beggars belief... However, to my mind it also seems that the fiends Pettingill were allowed to get away with atrocious crimes for far too long; surely the cops could have got them on something far sooner (say at birth), not to mention their unnatural, sadistic and evil mother!
