Yes well, you want to be told what to react to next. Sorry, telling someone what to do is like walking through a mine field. But, I'm willing to put up some suggestions for your consideration. I get the sense that you enjoy Floor's vocals, so you also might enjoy some of her performances from her solo projects which began back in 2019 on a Dutch show called Beste Zangers where she is hardly known by her singing peers (solo of Shallow, duet Phantom of the Opera, Vilja Lied in German); or from her fall 2021 solo concert in Amsterdam (Slow Love Slow, Storm in a Glass); or her new singles released from her upcoming 2023 solo Album (strongly recommend live versions of those songs, here are well recorded versions (Fire. th-cam.com/video/rqwHMgo_DdQ/w-d-xo.html Storm th-cam.com/video/8dAP8Mjgh_E/w-d-xo.html ) which are much more organic than her official videos.
Here's an all female power metal band from Japan that sing in English the 2 guitarists (Midori & Miyako) can play better than most men one of them also does most the Piano work having been classically trained since she was 3 (Miyako) the band was founded by Miho the Bassist and ex Destrose member, she recruited her ex Destrose bandmate Haruna on Drums. Miho's idol is Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris, and they love 80's british metal. They also do great power ballads. since 2016 they have produced 3 albums, 4 EP's (Mini 4-5 song albums), and 4 live albums last year they also released the best of Lovebites 2017-2021. In 2018 they won the prestigious Metal Hammer Golden God award for best new band also previously won by popular bands before them like Avenged Sevenfold and Anthrax. They recruited Asami an R&B Vocalist to sing she learned to sing metal and I'd liken her to a female Bruce Dickinson(Iron Maiden) These women are the best new metal band in over 30 years the dual guitar attack is reminiscent of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and other dual rockers of the past they have also been on tour with Dragonforce and compared as a female version of dragonforce. Here is a Ballad/Banger that Asami shows off her R&B Voice during the slow parts enjoy Lovebites Edge of the World th-cam.com/video/UZjxMjBop7w/w-d-xo.html also the CC works to view the lyrics. The note she holds for what seems an eternity is very impressive at the beginning of the song.
Hello beautiful Nina. This is probably number 2-3 with me, favorite being Shudder before the Beautiful. We have a heatwave in Southern Finland also. 29°C in shadow. And seems to go on till next week's Tuesday. Wednesday is promised to rain and raining hard.. So remember to drink lots of water there as well. I'm going swimming to the near-by beach. Ocean water is even mid 20°C. In shallow water obviously. I really do love your reactions ,just because you break down music and vocals with such entertaining way. Usually reactors do one or the other. Or if they do both it shows they really don't have the training or knowledge to do both. S9 thank you, Stay safe and hydrated. Kiitos paljon, rakkaudella Suomesta(Thank you so much, with love from Finland).
Nina, besides every song from Wacken 2013 being standard setting Gold and a must visit, there are many other examples of Floor's vocal versatility that are especially interesting for a vocal coach : Floor Jansen & Henk Poort - Phantom Of The Opera | Beste Zangers 2019 : th-cam.com/video/plCScjvDOJM/w-d-xo.html Floor Jansen sings Shallow for Emma Heesters Beste Zangers 2019 th-cam.com/video/M68pe4a_9zk/w-d-xo.html *with subtittles :th-cam.com/video/UWWbgYJ6Q6E/w-d-xo.html *just Floor & Troy: Nightwish - How's The Heart Acoustic (Planet Rock acoustic session)Live 2020 th-cam.com/video/yYtkPpFYzOo/w-d-xo.html *just Floor & her buddy from her 1st band AfterForever Joost van den Broek : Alone - Heart (cover by Floor Jansen)2020 th-cam.com/video/1fu-yP6q6Gk/w-d-xo.html from Wacken I recommend Floor's 2nd fav NW song to perform : *Nightwish - Bless the Child (Wacken 2013) th-cam.com/video/VTPXvE6o3LY/w-d-xo.html or :Ghost River (Wacken 2013) th-cam.com/video/05eitd-EA6I/w-d-xo.html
If you want to hear more Marco, I hereby recommend the usual suspects: The Islander (Live at Tampere), While Your Lips Are Still Red (live at Wembley). And of course High Hopes (Pink Floyd tribute) and Phantom Of The Opera (live with Nightwish's first singer Tarja Turunen), both from the End Of An Era DVD.
I think something Nina would enjoy more is Nightwish's rendition of phantom of the opera. Although, this is with Tarja who killed it with her operatic style, to me, Marco stole the show and is the best phantom I've ever heard. Completely skillfully deranged, just how the phantom should be.
Floor has said that this song is one of the more challenging for her to sing. All 3 songs you've done so far are from the Tarja era. Storytime is usually also one of the first few songs reacted to. That is from the Anette era. All songs at Wacken 2013 were written for one of the first 2 singers. Since you like Marko's voice so much, try their version of Phantom of the Opera, with Tarja, or their cover/tribute of Pink Floyd's High Hopes (Marko lead vocal). He really shines in both.
Replacing the previous singer mid-tour, 48 hours to learn the setlist, to then go and sing at Wacken after 10 months of touring and getting introduced to the European crowd for the first time singing songs that were NOT written for her .... and then sing like THIS? It blew my mind. The music, the band, Floor, the lights spectacle, tasteful filming, this entire concert is the best live show I have ever seen. I often forget how heavy songs are because it is like watching a movie. You are captured by the story, the visuals, the singing, the storytelling etc etc etc. Then add how gracefully Floor is on stage, how she is a true front lady, amping up the crowd. I mean .... c'mon.
Marko does great vocally despite permanent nerve damage done during surgery to remove a polyp. He said he couldn't sing for a long time afterwards and it narrowed his vocal range. Marko and Floor were a match made in heaven.
@@ninaschofield To quote from Marko: "I got part of my vocal register back but only after persistent practice, but my falsetto was completely destroyed by that operation."
@@ninaschofield Great has he is, he also admitted that Floor is the first singer he worked with where he doesn't have to hold back. No matter how much force he throws at it, she'll top it anyway.
Highly recommended yet rarely suggested: 'THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH'! It is regarded as Nightwish's most daring and skilled piece of music and absolutely astonishing! It shows both Floor's and Marco's vocal capabilities as well as unmatched musical genius by Tuomas. Pay attention to the lyrics too, it is poetry! Make sure you watch the 2015 version, live in Tampere. PREPARE TO BE BLOWN AWAY!
Nina, congrats. Truly one of the best reactions and analysis of Nightwish. The last minute of Everdream, with the double bass drum and music intensity, is like a runaway steam train with Floor as the conductor and the guys stoking that boiler 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Once again a wonderful reaction. If you ever go to a Nightwish concert you should VLOG the whole thing. I would enjoy seeing how you react to that. That would be priceless. Of course, I have no clue if they are still together and touring.
Great reaction! I think next you can see Nightwish "Dead boy's poem". It's time to move on to more serious things) You can also see Nightwish "How's the heart" acoustic version - this is a great example of how masterfully Floor uses his vocals.
You continue to enhance my personal Nightwish journey with these wonderfully unlikely headfirst dives into their work, Your expertise and commitment to the cause (and your open mind!) are adding thrilling.new layers of detail to videos that I have probably seen hundreds of times already. And then you recreate their music in real-time on your keyboard before you've even heard the song through one full time, like it's nothing? Ridiculous. Keep flexing! A huge thanks for all that you do!
I’m so pleased your enjoying my Nightwish videos! One of my favourite things to do is discover new music and then immediately work it out on the piano so I’m glad that’s a fun moment for you to watch also ☺️ have a great day!
It’ really shows too. Just know that it’s always noticed and appreciated! Btw, I hate to break it to you, but when I saw NW perform this song a few weeks ago at a small venue in NYC, Marco was of course missing, so who do you think filled in for his wonderful vocal cameo at the end of the choruses? Yep, floor did double duty 🙆🏼♂️
I'm a simple guy. I see an educated musician reacting to Nightwish and doing so analytically, I hit the like button. Also, I'm barely 10 seconds into your reaction to the song itself and I'm AMAZED. You heard the piano intro one time and were able to reproduce it on your own. You seem to have a highly trained ear! I know it's not the most uncommon thing in this medium, at least in people who chose to publish their talents, but it's simply amazing to me.
I love people finding Nightwish, your reaction is perfect. Try 'How's the Heart' (both Acoustic and lyric video) for a great comparison or '7 days to the wolves' for a different path through the discography. ;)
This is one of the most straightforward Nightwish songs, but also a favorite of many (including me, myself and l 😉). Marko's fine effort there is add some power dynamics to the song. Great compact performance. 😎👍
Its just a stunning performance from start to finish. Fortunately one of so many where Nightwish are concerned. The praise for your reactions is deserved. Thank you.
Floor brought me here, that irresistible accent captivates Americans though 😂 suppose I'll be around now a bit now thx for the fantastic reviews and enjoying Nightwish with us. 👌✔️
Hey Nina, I know you have "The List" which is a great guide in these heated times. Now throw that away and wander off to Buenos Aires to do this gem: "Nightwish - Dead Boy's Poem - Live In Buenos Aires 2018 - Decades Tour" - th-cam.com/video/S8E3L7ggLMM/w-d-xo.html In my view, "Dead Boy's Poem" is one of the Nightwish greats, a true classic. The whole concert was out of this world good and to me it ranks right behind Wacken 2013. Stay cool & cheers from Amsterdam!
love your reaction and how fast you pick up their music and play on the piano is amazing. Great watching your reaction and being lovely to look at as well does not hurt! continued success...
LOL, hearing the Valkyrie goddess saying "But for now, we're gonna start a little softer", is like the silence before a giant meteor strikes earth... 😁🤘
You could react to Ever Dream from End of an Era. In that version (original version) Marco used to sing in duet on the last chorus together with Tarja Turunen, the first singer of Nightwish.
Absolutely agree. Tarja's version of End of an Era is a great contrast in singing style by two talented female vocalists. Also, the emotions behind that version are incredible: Allegedly, Tuomas wrote this song for Tarja, and The End of an Era concert is the very last time Nightwish performed Ever Dream with Tarja which Tuomas (and the rest of the band) knew... but Tarja didn't.
Another great reaction Nina, thank you 😀 I have been listening to 'Ghost River' from Wacken 2013 and can't stop listening to it (Marco sings all the way through it). Very much worth a look! 🙂
Another excellent reaction , Nina. You bring a unique perspective that I appreciate very much! Just another earned subscription! I'll follow along on your Nightwish journey ... it is truly a magnificent path we walk.
@@ninaschofield Hahaha - Please don't! Kidding aside, you, being a knowledgable musician, will recognize the utter genius of Tuomas Holopainen's composing. I consider him the foremost composer of my lifetime, and place him in a class with Bach for eventual impact upon the music of his time. I believe he will be studied long after . A brilliant breakdown of Ghost Love Score was done by MTR, and since you've done your reaction, you ought to watch it. th-cam.com/video/-ql4Y12xbck/w-d-xo.html. It's simply brilliant. I'm looking forward to your feedback on his masterpiece: "The Greatest Show On Earth" - please do a little background check on the incredible meaning behind it - the story of our planet from before the Big Bang to the eventual destruction of mankind. My choice for the greatest composition of my life - and I'm an old guy! ("Gates of Delirium" by Yes is in second place). Cheers!
Lovely reaction, really enjoying your content :) Ever Dream was the one that hooked me.... I was amazed by Floor's vocal abilities in Ghost Love Score and the storytelling in Storytime, but Ever Dream made a fanboy of me! The raw power in that last part is just stunning
9:13 Jukka "the drumer" is in the hous!!!! 9:19 Jukka starts the engine(double bass drum) and floor is unstoppable the light show goes on... i love the drums
Great reaction! I always appreciate your ability to immediately pull out a riff and replicate something similar on the keys right at fist listen and talk about that, as well as your ability to of course give insight on the vocals as well. So very good! Everdream and Storytime might be my favorites, but there is so much that is good and amazing, and different, within Nightwish. I might check out Song of Myself next, but as you say, you have a list, and you can't really go wrong with Nightwish. At some point down the line, you'd enjoy Phantom of the Opera from End of an Era 2005, to hear Tarja and Marko both more prominent on vocals, and High Hopes and/or The Islander, to hear a Marko solo piece. Nothing wrong with sticking with Floor for a while though, as she is amazing.
@@ninaschofield Check this clip out from when I saw them live. Only thing I captured. It was too overwhelming and amazing to bother with the phone through any of it. They're just completely mesmerizing in person! Stunned, really. I now understand deer in headlights. Lol. th-cam.com/users/shortsFvX56H1-Fa4
Thanks for a great reaction, yet again. You should check song called "Devil and The Deep Dark Ocean, live at Buenos Aires". It's both Marco and Floor "duelling".
You are very educational. I watch reactors who are talented to learn more about the songs I like. There is a song from this concert that not many reactors do. It is my favorite. It's called, "Bless the Child." I would really like to hear your comments on it. Well done Nina, thank you.
I also need to know what makes "Bless the Child" (Wacken 2013) so appealing to me ? When Floor returned on stage after switching from her long pants to a short leather skirt, she almost missed her entry at that song. A closer examination indicates that the zipper under her left arm seemed to be a bit disfunctional.
Nice analysis as always. Something I really like about Floor 's singing style is her clear diction and powerful projection that enhance the storytelling. Whatever the song, I never miss a word. I'm not even a native english speaker
Ths concert was all songs from the previous eras of NW. I'd recommend next something like The opener for Wembley 2015 with Floors first album. The song is called Shudder before the Beautiful. Or Noise from her second album. There perfomance from Hellfest2022 was just a few weeks ago.
Love ya Nina .....not only you're excellent analysis on the vocals and music but you're personality as well you seem like you'd be a whole lotta fun to hang with . If you want to Hear Marco alone vocally do " HIGH HOPES " by Nightwish.....a tribute to PINK FLOYD
@@ninaschofield Dead boy's Poem from their Argentina concert is a fabulous showcase of her inflection, tonal colouring and range in what is largely a ballad.
@@ninaschofield Did you ask for ballads? Nightwish have few of them, here some examples for you (one for every lead voice): Dead Boy's Poem (Floor, 3rd lead singer) The Islander (Marko, bassist AND singer) Sleeping Sun (Tarja, 1st lead singer) Meadows of Heaven (Anette, 2nd lead singer) Harvest (Troy, multi-instrumentalist AND singer) Yes, NW are full of talent and hard work, a real "Dark Chest of Wonders" (their opener song at Wacken 2013... not a ballad but still an awesome song!😉) Greetings from Italy! 👋🇮🇹🖖
@Nina Schofield: I've always thought of Ever Dream as a song about falling in love. It's basically a person who is pursuing their love interest, and the lyrics are a question: "Do you ever dream of me?" Then you add in the drums, the piano, the guitar from Emppu, and then the drumming from Jukka. But it's the bridge that has always gotten me: I've never heard what sounds like "frantic desperation" from a drummer/vocalist duo before, like Jukka and Floor, as if the person doing the pursuing is becoming both frantic and desperate at the thought that they'll be rejected. Lastly, this is just another gem written by Tuomas, who has an uncanny ability and talent to take human emotion and translate it into music. It's why we love our "Metal Mozart," and why the only difference between metal and classical music is electricity.
Hello Nina, first of all I want to thank you for the fantastic reactions you give, the explanation you do throughout the songs is simply wonderful. I hope you never stop. Second, I loved your single! I'm looking forward to more singles. Finally, and it doesn't have much to do with the subject of the video, at minute 1.39 (just before something fell on the other side of the door) you can see an "Orb" coming out of your back towards the top of the image , honestly it is not the first video that this happens. I found the coincidence of the orb curious and after a few seconds something fell behind your door. Again I wish you all the best and thanks for the entertainment! Mutch love !
On Marko, he did participate in the Finnish Masked Singer TV program. And won. So if you want to see other aspects of him, you might watch those clips. It says something about the amount of talent in the band if the bassist and not the lead singer wins a (sort of) singing contest. There are a few songs, most notably The Islander in the Tampere show, where Floor is doing backing vocals for Marko.
old school nightwisher here, I mean was listening from about the time of Wishmaster, got me hooked… so fun (speculative) fact well known in the nw lore this song was literally written for Tarja. Like a rhetorical love letter. Seems all those feels bottled up just burst in the songwriting during Century Child. Alas, they have always been there. God, we are old people and I m still thinking about this.😅 You are a lovely comentator🎉
Not quite "all the elements come in" there is a 6th member of the band I think you may not be aware of his name is Troy Donackley and he is a fellow Brit from Cumbria. He plays ullieian pipes, various whistles, Irish basouki, guitars, sometimes with an ebow and he also sings he is the Swiss army knife of the band as he seems to be able to play anything. Great reaction new subscriber from me
@@ninaschofield to add some more information, he's currently a permanent member, but at that concert he was only a guest in some songs. That's why you haven't seen him yet. Well, Floor was also a guest at that point believe or not lol. But she also joined permanently afterwards.
Marco is fantastic - see comment below from Cobinja. Plus Ghost River (Wacken); Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean from Buenos Aires and I Want My Tears Back from Buenos Aires. Song of Myself from this concert supplied my ringtone - Marco's second entry in that song is so breathtaking to me I had to extract it so I hear it whenever anyone calls me.
Love your vocal analysis as always. Must say, I really appreciate you showing us how some of the instruments reinforce the intent of the vocals. Thank you.
Wacken 2013 starring Nightwish and co-starring the 80,000 crowd..wow!! The energy this band always creates with their crowd connection is incredible!! Sensory overload….NW style!!
Every member of the Nightwish Army knows that the entire band is incredible. What I would like to acknowledge is your ability to pick phrases and replicate them after a single listen. You, my dear, are quite incredible yourself!
great reaction, Floor and Troy did a couple of nightwish songs in an acoustic setup( just voice guitar) for planet rock. "Nemo" and "how's the heart" are both amazing in their strip down version, don't get me wrong I love the full nightwish experience but acoustic just give another angle more focus on the voice maybe.
I love your reactions with Nightwish. You would have to do a reaction of Floor Jansen, when he was in his previous band "Revamp", in the song "Disdain Live at Graspop (2010)", you would be amazed with what he is capable of doing with his voice.
For NW it is easy - continue the journey - maybe listen to "Phantom of the Opera" to get an idea of Marko's skills and of Tarja (the original singer). But to get an idea of all the fantastic bands and singers you are still missing check out Ayreon "The day that the world breaks down" (the official version with Arjens remarks). Why? because this song has 11 (!) lead vocalists and so you can discover Simone Simmons (Epica), Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian), Tobias Sammet (Avantasia) etc. etc. ;D
I don't know any other reaction channels where they pick up on Tuomas' keyboard parts and demonstrate aspects of them the way that you do. So as a keyboard player I say - keep that coming!
Floor's favourite is Ghost Love Score ❤ 😍. Hail the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal and Empathy 😇 🙌 ✨ Side note: The Goddess is gonna sing the Dutch national anthem at the formula 1 race at Zandvoort 🤘🤘🤘🤘 Next song, one of the Epics, Dead Boy's Poem in Buenos Aires 🥰🥰🥰
Here's a couple more ballad suggestions..... Decades in the sun. live version is best as always, this was written for Floors voice. Kiss while your lips are still red live at Wembley Marco lead vocal ballad with Troy playing ebow on guitar. And how about Walking in the air..... Yes the one from the Snowman featuring the first singer Tarja as a Brit you may relate to this.
You have an amazingly talented ear... The way you pick up the tune on the boards damn near instantly reminds me of myself back in the day when learning songs
Great reaction. For your next reaction I'd recommend High Hopes, which is Nightwish's tribute to Pink Floyd. This is THE perfect song to listen to Marco as the sole lead vocalist..... you'll be shocked at just how good he is. He's also the best Phantom you'll ever see anywhere, in Nightwish's rendition of Phantom of the Opera. This is from 2005 during Tarja's (the original lead vocalist) last ever performance with the band (End of an Era concert).
in her solo performance Amsterdam '21 she starts her show with this song, but softer too, very beautiful, and she also sings the parts of Marco's. Floor is an exceptional singer. 🤟🏻🤟🏻🎶🎶
It's also interesting to note when Jukka's playing in the verse he only uses the kick drum to accent the vocals rather than providing a straight backbeat
Welcome to the Nightwish journey. It is a rabbit hole of really good music. You should check out Poet and the Pendulum as well as The Greatest Show on Earth. These really shows Toumas' skill of composing music.
Floor is definitely my favorite singer of nightwish. She's a pretty good combination of both of the previous singers who were very talented in their own right. I suggest going back and listening to songs written in each of their respective eras. Amaranth -Annette and anything before that for Tarja.. maybe phantom of the opera or over the hills and far away. This will make you appreciate floor even more after hearing who the vocals were written for
Nina, it was a great pleasure to watch you reaction. You are a very beautiful person. The energy you perform - it brings me happines and delight. It was so enchanting to watch it. Thank you, God bless you and all what you are doing. Thank you for the emotions
Hi Nina! Absolutely love your analysis. My interest is very much on female vocals, so the explanations you give about what Floor is doing to produce her vocal effects are really interesting to me. One personal note: you know that temps are only forecast to increase in the coming years, and even for this year, it's still only August 12! Did you not think about investing in a nice little portable room air conditioner? I find that heat tends to build up over days, and is hard to get rid of just by opening windows. If you cooled the room down a bit first with the A/C, you can then shut the windows, and the room will remain cool for quite a long while (e.g., while you are doing your video taping). Hope you are having a wonderful summer relaxing by the pool!
Thank you so much! You know what it’s funny you mention air con, I recently decided to invest in an air cooler where you place ice packs inside and it’s meant to be a cheaper way of running an air con like system, but in all honesty it’s not very good so I think I will have to go for the full a/c in preparation for these heatwaves ☀️☀️☀️
@@ninaschofield Nina, I have a great idea! I'm a subscriber to both your Instagram and Twitter accounts. Could you post something there to let us know how it's coming along? (A/C)? I would love to see what you finally come up with! Keep well ...
If you like Marco's voice there, you really need to check out their tribute to Pink Floyd's High Hopes. It really showcases Marco's voice along Emppu"s with fantastic guitar.
Hi Nina I can’t wait to see you react to Storytime from Wacken or even Yours Is An Empty Hope from Wembley, you will see another side of Floor in that one, don’t leave it too long before you do those please? Do not worry about your style, your analysis is very interesting and informative, please keep it that way 🤘👍
Your reactions are so genuine. I can't wait for you to react to . The greatest show on earth . Poet and the pendulum. And Marco at tampere. Brilliant band .
I'm not sure if you're editing but I always am blown away with people that can hear something once and play pretty close to the full orchestration out on the piano 10 seconds later
I chuckled a bit when you said this was getting quite heavy. I am still smiling inside and thinking it was light and airy compared to Romanticide or Yours is an Empty Hope LOL! This is Nightwish expect the unexpected every time.
Thanks for your analysis/reaction. Enjoyed it. I think Storytime from this same concert would be a great one for you to do next. Would to hear your analysis on her vocal gymnastics on that one.
Two notes. I would love to hear this song as the soft piano ballad, just Floor and Tuomas, just once is all I need. And may I strongly suggest Marko's Nightwish finale, Endlessness. It's looking like we'll not be hearing it live, but the official studio lyrics video is a thing of beauty.
Happy Friday everyone! What a great way to kick start the day with Nightwish ☺️

Don't forget 'While your lips are still red' The life version.
Marco is/was a singer in another band, so not just a back up vocalist.
@@puarterquonder Oh yes, lovely. I do dance to this one
@@puarterquonder and The Islander, the live Tampere version is great but the official music video is great too.
@@puarterquonder As opposed to the dead version
I mean .... c'mon.
Oh, sorry ... forgot to mention the amazing crowd! They made everything even more special.
@@braindump1446 well yeah. But its wacken. Nightwish cant take credit for that. Metal festivals will not ever top wacken
Marko does great vocally despite permanent nerve damage done during surgery to remove a polyp. He said he couldn't sing for a long time afterwards and it narrowed his vocal range. Marko and Floor were a match made in heaven.
Oh wow, that’s an incredible thing to overcome vocally 😮
@@ninaschofield Go on, Nina - I dare you! Cover it...you know you want to... 😉 💜 🤘
@@ninaschofield To quote from Marko: "I got part of my vocal register back but only after persistent practice, but my falsetto was completely destroyed by that operation."
Jeez.. did not know that.
Personally I prefer the Wembley recording with Troy on Ebow guitar and the Dawkins end to the show.
I like the one in Tampere, but I also like the one in Wembley because you hear Dawkins better at the end.
I agree with this and also the Wembley show is better imho
Sorry fellow nightwish reaction junkie (i assume) GSOE is too early. It ruins reactioners to their whole catalogue
@@212mochaman I was just answering the question and not suggesting that it should be taken out of sequence. Apologies if that is how it appeared.
Nina, congrats. Truly one of the best reactions and analysis of Nightwish.
The last minute of Everdream, with the double bass drum and music intensity, is like a runaway steam train with Floor as the conductor and the guys stoking that boiler 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Great interpretation and imagery!
Your reaction style is a breath of fresh air, enjoy .
All her fans are very excited today. She will be singing the Dutch nation anthem at the Dutch Grand Prix in September!
@Das Teufelswerk 4th September just before the race at 1400.
She nailed it. What did you expect? 😁
Great reaction and you will enjoy the talents of Nightwish
Once again a wonderful reaction. If you ever go to a Nightwish concert you should VLOG the whole thing. I would enjoy seeing how you react to that. That would be priceless. Of course, I have no clue if they are still together and touring.
Great reaction! I think next you can see Nightwish "Dead boy's poem". It's time to move on to more serious things) You can also see Nightwish "How's the heart" acoustic version - this is a great example of how masterfully Floor uses his vocals.
How about sleeping sun as well
@@giljensen1132 Sleeping sun was actually the first reaction to NW she did. 😊

Dead boys poem, yep! One of my favorites
@@horsehollerer she's a beast but I really miss Marko's voice in all the songs that he sings. The contrast was very important.

One of the best Nightwish reactions I have seen. You know what you are talking about.
This was the first Emppu guitar solo I ever learned, and still my favorite.

Now throw that away and wander off to Buenos Aires to do this gem: "Nightwish - Dead Boy's Poem - Live In Buenos Aires 2018 - Decades Tour" - th-cam.com/video/S8E3L7ggLMM/w-d-xo.html
In my view, "Dead Boy's Poem" is one of the Nightwish greats, a true classic. The whole concert was out of this world good and to me it ranks right behind Wacken 2013. Stay cool & cheers from Amsterdam!
The Happiness on stage and on crowd is unique. That’s Nightwish 🔥❤️🤘🇫🇮

Nightwish "Ghost River" will blow you away ....... Floor is an Angel not of this Earth !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@danilolapierre5610 exactly!
Another great analysis. “I think it’s time for a little story. It’s definitely… Storytime!”

Another great reaction Nina, thank you 😀
I have been listening to 'Ghost River' from Wacken 2013 and can't stop listening to it (Marco sings all the way through it).

Cheers!

Ever Dream was the one that hooked me.... I was amazed by Floor's vocal abilities in Ghost Love Score and the storytelling in Storytime, but Ever Dream made a fanboy of me! The raw power in that last part is just stunning

So pleased to hear that Jeff! 🙏🏻
Very interesting comments and insight. Thanks Nina!
Thank you so much for your kind comments and song suggestions ☺️
@@ninaschofield You're welcome! Most deserved. Your original material is good as well, so you certainly have talent, and it shows in your reactions.

I strongly concure.
"Bless the Child" from Wacken 2013 please.
Great review Nina, welcome to the Nightwish rabbit hole 😂💖

Definitely echo the suggestion of Dead Boy's Poem. It's an extremely personal and meaningful song for Tuomas.
Mutch love !
oooooh you are going to love this one
On Marko, he did participate in the Finnish Masked Singer TV program. And won. So if you want to see other aspects of him, you might watch those clips. It says something about the amount of talent in the band if the bassist and not the lead singer wins a (sort of) singing contest. There are a few songs, most notably The Islander in the Tampere show, where Floor is doing backing vocals for Marko.
Good reaction, one of my favorite nightwishs songs
old school nightwisher here, I mean was listening from about the time of Wishmaster, got me hooked… so fun (speculative) fact well known in the nw lore this song was literally written for Tarja. Like a rhetorical love letter. Seems all those feels bottled up just burst in the songwriting during Century Child. Alas, they have always been there.
God, we are old people and I m still thinking about this.😅
You are a lovely comentator🎉
Not quite "all the elements come in" there is a 6th member of the band I think you may not be aware of his name is Troy Donackley and he is a fellow Brit from Cumbria. He plays ullieian pipes, various whistles, Irish basouki, guitars, sometimes with an ebow and he also sings he is the Swiss army knife of the band as he seems to be able to play anything. Great reaction new subscriber from me

Wacken 2013 starring Nightwish and co-starring the 80,000 crowd..wow!!
The energy this band always creates with their crowd connection is incredible!! Sensory overload….NW style!!
I love how the composition starts a journey through different elements.. ever changing.. Not just a simple rinse & repeat 2 minute riff.
Just want to second everyone recommending Phantom of the Opera. Duet between Marko and Tarja and I’m sure you’ll appreciate the arrangement.
8:43 This is my 'I'll never get over how good she is' moment for Floor. Just.. insanity
"he's got a little a bit of everything" 😆 Another spot on reaction, thank you!
Why? because this song has 11 (!) lead vocalists and so you can discover Simone Simmons (Epica), Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian), Tobias Sammet (Avantasia) etc. etc. ;D
Finnish power right there 💪🇫🇮💪
His songwriting is brilliant, their musicianship is amazing, and the siren goddess is so much more than the icing on the cake...
I don't know any other reaction channels where they pick up on Tuomas' keyboard parts and demonstrate aspects of them the way that you do. So as a keyboard player I say - keep that coming!
Floor's favourite is Ghost Love Score ❤ 😍.

"He's got a little bit of everything" Yes!
Excellent reaction Nina! You should definitely check out “Song of Myself” by Nightwish next. (Also at Wacken Open Air 2013)
If you like them together, consider Ghost River (Wacken), Devil and the Deep, Dark Ocean (Buenos Aires)
in her solo performance Amsterdam '21 she starts her show with this song, but softer too, very beautiful, and she also sings the parts of Marco's. Floor is an exceptional singer. 🤟🏻🤟🏻🎶🎶
It's also interesting to note when Jukka's playing in the verse he only uses the kick drum to accent the vocals rather than providing a straight backbeat
Keep up the good work, so far so good, spot on reactions :)

Two notes. I would love to hear this song as the soft piano ballad, just Floor and Tuomas, just once is all I need. And may I strongly suggest Marko's Nightwish finale, Endlessness. It's looking like we'll not be hearing it live, but the official studio lyrics video is a thing of beauty.
