    I really like that you speak slowly and repeatedly show what buttons you are using. You are good at teaching, many people speak way to fast and skip over showing exactly what buttons they are using. Thank you.

    I inherited a fair light video system a few months and spent hours trying to find info and decided to try again tonight. Stoked I found you. I’d love this system to find a good home and now have an idea who would be interested.

    Just letting you know that this video was exactly what I was looking for without knowing I was looking for it. I tend to mumble talk during gameplay (like I talk softly but you can still hear me say the words) and I just did the dynamics thing you did so it evens out the voice and makes the soft parts louder and the loud parts softer and it's perfect. Thanks Casey!

    Casey, you're a pheonominal teacher. I just wanted to express my thanks for your dedication on this channel. I started with Resolve about a month ago (and I wish I had seen this video BEFORE shipping my latest video on my other channel because my audio was trash lol). I've used your Fusion deep dive to create some stuff that I really like (a rarity for me lol), so I'd love to eventually see a Fairlight deep dive (assuming I haven't just glanced over it). Again, thank you for all that you do, it's most appreciated and I can assure you it's absolutely valued!

    It would be nice to have a tutorial about noise removal, especially clicking sounds not just background noise. And how to clean up the audio when there is lots of wind.

    • @CortneySalerno
      @CortneySalerno 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Agreed! Loving the vids so far but my main issue is the wind or static noise that comes with not recording in a studio. I'm on the free version though, so I may need to upgrade to find the automatic noise reduction feature. There are some workarounds i've noticed in the free version so maybe he can include those if he knows any for sound.

    Another powerful use for bus tracks is that you can control the individual effects without affecting the source track. For example, if you create a bus track that you route some dialogue to and put a reverb and then an EQ on the bus track, that EQ will only affect the reverb and not the voice itself.

    What I like about Fairlight is that if you are into audio production already and you own some 3rd party plugins or VST's, Resolve will integrate them into Fairlight and you can use it as well. :)

    I get the impression that everything you do on a sound selection on Track 1 (for example) applies to every sound sample on Track 1, even the one not focused on. But I guess there must be a way to make changes only to 1 sound clip and not impact the others on the same track.

    Transitioning to Fairlight, I find it difficult and satisfying that all the effects can only be done by track and not by clip compared to Premiere or Audition. It helps you be more organized with your tracks.

  • @petersutherland1451
    @petersutherland1451 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks Casey - I have new respect for audio engineers - especially mixing live music. I am trying to figure out how to make precise cuts to an audio track to make it match my video clip better. I want to chop out some sections of the audio and replace that with other parts of the audio track that match better, or just make it run a couple of seconds longer so the music supports the narrative of the video. The video is a single clip of a drone shot with a tilt movement followed by a pan to reveal the CBD, which lasts about 1 min 30 sec. Could you explain how to identify the start of a bar of music accurately?

      @cgcowboy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the same question. Has anyone used Fairlight for pure audio editing to replace tools like Audacity and Audition? On the surface, it seems like it would work for less complicated editing like voice overs and simple sfx.

    • @bibomagabo859
      @bibomagabo859 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Never got the chance to use other softwares. Felt like there's a lot of extra work to do it on a different one.

    Love your video’s Casey, thank you. One question, that I could not answer from watching this video was: I have seen audio equalizer, with the active entire waveform of the sound superimposed on the various wavelengths of audio, so you can adjust each frequency on the fly, so to speak, and go immediately to the frequencies that are giving you “trouble” and see the changes on the fly. I cannot figure out if Resolve has the same capabilities?
