This is absolutely gorgeous, and off the beaten path. Just like we like it !!! Thanks for sharing. So many RV'ers hit the big resort areas. I really enjoyed this video and hope to visit this beautiful area one day.
We just stayed there in spot 59 (it’s one you can reserve ahead of time) because of your TH-cam! It’s gorgeous and so clean and well maintained. Will be going back in about a month.
Nice video, beautiful area. Wondering about your little ramp to your van. Looking for something similar for our old doggie who now has trouble with steps
We actually made that with 2x2s and plywood with carpet over it for grip. Have a wonderful time with your doggie. Pepper had a long, happy life. Thanks for watching. ~ Trisha
It is! If you have a self contained rig, we have other videos on the area. We just left one of our favorite free spots south of Phoenix. Look up our video, Boondocking Tucson. ~ Trisha
Thanks, we have found so many great places if you like the desert as we do! You just regulate the temperature with elevation changes. Thank you so much for watching! Trish
We took our chances. It was early in the season so there were lots of open spaces. The camp host said it does get busy during peak which is Winter. Thanks for the question.
Oh, I know! We're from the Atlanta area. It's the west that is just now getting them. California has a lot and a few in Arizona, but they are expanding rapidly. Just saw the nicest one ever in Buckeye, outside Phoenix. Thanks for watching! Trish
Depends on how close. One of our favorite boondocking spots is about an hour south of the city and 30 minutes north of Tucson. Go to the Arizona playlist and you'll see Boondocking Tucson plus several others. We have desert camped in many locations that are so beautiful. ~ Trisha
Not on our loop, however, there was water. The state park website would let you know if it is available in another area. I kinda doubt it but it was beautiful! Thanks for watching.
Since things could have changed in the past 3 years, your best bet is to go to the US Forest Service website: fs.usda.gov/recreation and check it out. It is in the Tonto forest. Thanks for watching! Trisha
Do yall know if you can get a 25-foot long 8' 6" wide freightliner down to there? Not sure what that bridge weight limit is but my truck will fit height wise
The bridge allows for a 14 ft high rig. The width and length should be fine. I didn't see a weight listed. It is a curvy road so take it slow. You should be fine in the campground. It's so beautiful there. Enjoy! ~ Trisha
@wanderwonders1221 appreciate greatly! I'm due for a vacation and I need to get to a winter campground area. It looks so peaceful there, how can I refuse? Lol

Mid October. It was the beginning of the season and the weather was great. A little hot when hiking in the desert though. That sorbet hit the spot! Trisha
I wasn't aware that there are camping restrictions that say you can't. That's basically what we're doing in our van. We have boondocked with people who camp in their cars but not at this campground. If these rules exist, one hack would be to get a small, cheap (even used) tent and set it up. Put a rock in it to hold it down. Oh, I do remember hanging a camping hammock. You can get one for $30. If they ask why you're not sleeping in it (I can't imagine they would), you could say that the coyotes, snakes, etc. scared you! ~Trisha
Why does everyone think they need to "build a fire" at campgrounds? Especially people with RV's. Do you need it to keep warm? Are you goig to Cook on it? Or do you just LIKE POLLUTIMG THE AIR?
Frankly, we really don't build fires often because we have solar powered induction cooktops/microwave etc. Even a propane cooktop is faster than a fire. Even though fires are the least efficient they make people feel like they're really camping. They do provide lovely ambiance to sit around chatting in the evening. ~ Trisha
thousands of coyotes-- snakes are there out in the rocks not usually in camp-- there is a nice mtn there to climb- by hiking-- snakes may be off the side of that ttrail----- i camp in flagstaff- never saw a snake for years- same site- down to teh square inch-- no snakes until 1 year i stepped right into strike distance for a baby rattler--- just as potent as the momma- but way more pissed off after i moved it and gave the ravens a dinner---- the ravens and i have become friends.... snakes are good wampum

Thank you! We have a lot more camping ideas in our Arizona Playlist. In 3 years, we never went to a crowded RV park! ~ Trisha

I'm so happy for you. We may go back this Winter. We've been boondocking south of Phoenix. Happy New Year! ~ Trisha

Curious to know if you were able to find out availability before you drove up or did you just take your chances.
We took our chances. It was early in the season so there were lots of open spaces. The camp host said it does get busy during peak which is Winter. Thanks for the question.
Your tacos look DELISH !!! ENJOYED YOUR CHANNEL
Thank you so much 🤗
Yes, there are Aldi stores in Eastern US. North Carolina & South Carolina have Aldi.

Great videos, are there any other desert camp sites around Phoenix?

Was there electricity at the camp sites?
Thanks

Great video! Did you have any TV reception?
Yes! Shockingly, the cell towers were right above the campground. Thanks for watching, Trisha
@@wanderwonders1221 broadcast tv or cell phone are separate things, no? How to get tv on a cell tower?
@@charlestait5303 yes, you are right. I assumed they were talking about cell reception to watch programs on whatever service they're signed up for.
I wish you would show more. So perfect .
More what? LOL! We have to leave something for you to discover. ~ Trisha
Do they have full hook up’s

Thanks for the footage of this area! 👍🚙🏞🌞🏜🌵. Enjoy the road! 🌞
I hope you get to go! We did a lot of camping around Tucson and other areas of Arizona too.
Are there length and weight restrictions? I see the bridge has a 14 ft. height limit.

What month is this?
Mid October. It was the beginning of the season and the weather was great. A little hot when hiking in the desert though. That sorbet hit the spot! Trisha
Sorry but it’s Tortilla Flat, no ‘s . Not Flats. It’s beautiful stayed there once and going back in December. Great winter camping.
You are right, thanks for the correction. LOL! I did get it right on the thumbnail! Thanks for watching. ~ Trisha
Do they accept people who travel in their cars and stay in their cars?

USED to be affordable now only the rich can afford the tonto passes
I'm so sorry to hear that. I've heard that there is dispersed (free) camping in the area. Trisha
Bet there ate a lot of snakes
Surprisingly, we didn't see any
Probably, but I've been hiking and fishing here since I was 8 and never saw a snake.
