This is great! It's like a Rock n' Folk stew. And I want another bowl-full!
Great, really interesting cover of one of Bob's most underrated tunes.
I love your voice Jessica...it reminds me of Home.
Thank you 💞
This is real modern folk music!
Another beautiful song. This style suits her best.
Excellent! Awesome! Wonderful! I was playing along on drums at home. Just fantastic. Great stuff
Great arrangement and performance. Very cool slowing this tune down. Adds a lot of feel to it.
Absolutely nailed it 👏 The John Wesley Harding album is such a great source for creative original covers like this given its understated genius
Great cover of the genius
Such a wonderful cover of one of my favorite Dylan songs.
This is a phenomenal performance! I’d not heard the Dylan version. Thank you!
If you are a folk-rock enthusiast then this is really good! Jessica's voice is so attractive and extremely engaging, that I would have possibly preferred acapello with maybe a tin whistle bridge.
This is AWESOME GUYS!
Love it 🎯🏵️🏵️🏵️
I just discovered you for the first time! You are a magnificent musical star .. thank you!
Jessica Rhaye. I am privileged to receive a reply from you. You just made my day .. week .. month .. year, and for the rest of my life! x
Great cover, thank you!
What a beautiful performance .
Doing some real justice to an underappreciated Dylan number. Fantastic version.
Fantastic version of this tune. Love the instrumentation, arrangement, and harmonized vocals. Interesting additions. Excellent recording.
I have played this song for years and still playing around with different ways of do it. Such a simple song yet so interesting to do.
Thanks John - Glad you like it!
@@JessicaRhayeMusic Hey Jessica with bandmates and John who's "played this song for years and still playing around with different ways of do(ing) it. Such a simple song yet so interesting to do." I've been loving every inhabiting of this song since being a kid and living inside of JOHN WESLEY HARDING's grooves. Especially since Dylan has rarely gone back even during his never-ending tour to try and inhabit this song since issuing that album. Yet, I couldn't begin to tell you what the song is about.
I know from Tom Paine, but the song's narrative and vignette is beyond enigmatic or an intuitive moment that a songwriter with his\her antennae out might pick up and leave in an unfocused song to perpetuate the recording or performing artist's "mystique." Dylan's great success beyond his literary and musical gifts is his ongoing unparalleled skill at creating the "mystique" that has fans like me well into old age wrestling with his lyrics.
Jessica and John, what do you sing of when you sing this song? Referencing Harlan in this version suggests a labor\union angle? Or is there some other historical angle at work I've not considered, given this song's setting within the boundless expanse of historical fiction. Quick, somebody call the Doctor(ow!)

That's where I discovered her, as well. I am a big fan.
Wow didn't expect that really cool cover of a lost Dylan' track

Bonita canción. Me encanta
Jessica i love you.
Really fantastic. But your other Dylan songs are equally great. I dreamed I saw St Augustine, Blowing in the Wind, all of them in fact.
💖
oooohhhhhhyes
ace love
Maravilha
Fabulous, particularly liked your characterisation of Tom Payne with straight notes, and of the Fairest Damsel with more ornamental phrases.
I've found multiple covers that have a weird phrasing on "just then Tom Payne himself" because Dylan himself has a super weird phrasing, it's sort of in the middle of the backbeat of each note, or slightly syncopated, with a drawn out "paaayne". Something to consider if you're also a singer trying to cover this spooky-ass song.
What is that into? Great
Brasil
😘🎸🙋
not bad
AAA
Can you tell me something about the lyrics in the intro? Hey ho, noddy oh... Thanks in advance.
We borrowed and twisted the lyric from a band called Wovenhand, who covers this song as well and put our own spin on it :)
TIL that Bob Dylan has only performed this song once!
Not sure how I fell about the added lyrics, still I really good cover though
Did Bob the great mind, what you have done with his songs? Look, Mozart, Bach or Beethoven can't still play their music now...And you play the music of one of our greatest living poets!
gotta clean that guitar before shooting haha
It's Tom Paine not Tom Pace, Bob doesn't like artists messing with the lyrics.
