Aldi certainly producing the goods in the butcher’s dept😛👍. Stay away from the badgers- full of bovine tuberculosis 😬‼️ Blackmoor Golf Course, Headley and Grayshott were full of badgers back when I was around there🎥😎👍.
G'day Dan, a bit in this one, though still very chilled, : ) perhaps one facilitates the other. Nice intro and filming throughout, the badger and squirrel were quite a treat, especially since we dont have them here; a lot to be said for a tranquil panorama over the fields too. Glad you still have a focus in this respect, .........pardon the pun. Good to see the ol' DD get a run, in fairness I haven't had mine out in the worst of conditions, but a very solid and versatile performer for the dough I reckon. Hard to beat a wool blanket IMO, but sadly, not exactly conducive to a "long" walk. I've always liked that knife, but it must be said, "now that's a steak" !!!! ....looked like rib eye to me; in any event, salt and multi-pepper rub, even better. Interesting lantern. In a similar vein, I have been using a Fenix CL30R, which also acts as a charger and has a tripod mount, (a very underrated feature). Throw in a BT speaker and some extra lighting options, these sorts of units just make sense for car camping. I will check out the battery type and price though, I expect the convenience/features don't come cheap. No trace left, all good in the wood, hava ripper weekend mate. Cheers Duke.
Morning mate, That tarp is new, my old DD is full of homes and was relegated to covering garden furniture over the winter. But I’m a fan, so many options. Yeah my original plan for this night was lightweight with minimal gear but I thought I’d give the blanket a run out and crikey it’s heavy! I’d forgotten 😂 The lantern is decent, I’ve actually been using it loads at home when I’m in the garden. Plugging my phone into it and listening to music without killing my battery. Works great and the sound is as good as any I’ve heard previously. Have a cracker of a weekend Dan
@@CampLifeBushcraft Thanks for the reply Dan, Btw; speaking of using lanterns around the home, great to have in case of power outage, (til your battery supply is exausted at least). Hasn't happened very often here, but you never know.
Mr CLB the Cool Camper. Had to be one of your best solo camps I've watched you vlog Dan. Free easy and laid back in keeping with your style. My dad always told me " where 'ere you be let your air go free " so I think our dads knew each other ..lol. Thanks for the upload mate it's been easy watching on a frosty early Saturday morning here. Bushyboy Oz.
Aw thanks mate, it was one my most enjoyable solo trips to be fair. Everything felt right and I was really into what I was doing. Glad you were able to enjoy it. Happy weekend to you 👍
Plenty of wildlife out and about, great spot for a camp too. I was impressed with that lantern, looked perfect for family type camps or even hot tenting on long winter nights.
it was one of the best nights I've had in a while. everything seemed right and I was a happy boy heading home. I thought the lantern may have been tut but its pretty good, I've been using it loads at home when I'm in the garden.. for its speaker and charging I mean. but it's definitely a useful thing.
Beast of a steak that mate! And looked nicely cooked 👌🏼👌🏼 pleaaase get a new saw 😂 I hate that big clunky old thing you use 😅 get a silky, will be like cutting through butter compared to that old thing Nice chilled summer camp mate, think I recognise those woods 🤔
Yeah it’s just along from where we were in the winter. First time back there since then for me. Really chilled. I have a silky, I just keep bending the blade as I’m a bit heavy handed. I’ve replaced it twice and need to get another one. £30. A go they are! I like my Gerber one as it takes a beating and keeps working.
Nice camp Dan . That steak looked huge as did the wool blanket . Haven't done a tarp tent for ages . Oncoming on methinks . You got some nice wildlife in there to . Atb fella 🏕🌅👍
Hey bud, thank you. Yeah I packed light and then swapped my down blanket for wool. Made sense at the time 😂 I quite like going a bit old school sometimes.
What I like about your solo camps Dan is how laid back, easy and relaxing they are👍👍 No rush or hurry, nothing complicated, just great camping, filming and scenes throughout. Loved seeing the wildlife, the badger was awesome and the deer also. This looked to be a great spot, plenty of cover but open enough to breath. Tarp shelter was choice in this case, all that was needed. Do you treat your fabric materials(tarp/tent, sleeping, clothing) with bug killer/repellent before you head out? Gigantic chunk of beef there, looked delicious but I'd have most likely gotten the meat sweats eating all that. Nice bit of gear that light, very useful. Wonderful camp and video(sorry about the mic), thanks for bringing me along again. See ya next time. Enjoy!
Hey Terry, after a hectic week of work getting out alone is just what I needed. And this one seemed about perfect. Everything seemed to work, and I felt instantly at ease. No I never treat my stuff with bug repellent other than layers of camp fire smoke I suppose from previous camps. I do however have a pack of vitamin B tablets and I try to remember to take one before I go camping. (It seeps out your pores and the bugs don’t like it) Marmite is loaded with vit D so if your going camping eat marmite on toast before you leave. It can’t hurt. Thanks so much for watching, I’m very glad that you enjoy my films. Have a great weekend. Dan
My pack was pretty light. Just the blanket that was heavy. I originally packed a down blanket but changed my mind last minute and gave the wool blanket I run out.
@@wildwaysbushcraftsurvivals5416 yeah it was fine, I slept really well. And wasn’t cold. I had a down jacket in my pillow sack in case but never needed it.
@@CampLifeBushcraft Nice one, I have a woolen army blanket , which I use as a reserve additional source of heat in the winter, or in the autumn if I am hot tenting.
@@wildwaysbushcraftsurvivals5416 I’ve tried just a wool blanket in winter and it gets chilli. You got to keep the fire going all night. Which means no proper sleep.. it’s a challenge!

@@davidwilkinson248 thanks David, that’s kind of you. It’s the border of someone’s land but I knocked on his door a few months back and explained my weird hobbie to him and he was fine with me being in there. The bacteria on beef and all red meats grow on the outside. The bacteria on white meat grows in all areas. This is the reason it’s possible to eat rare steak. But you must cook pork and chicken all the way through.
A pleasant watch that, Dan!
I felt my stomach growing too as you struggled through that glorious cow 🐮

Thanks Warren, appreciate that!
How was your trip? Successful I hope 👍
You edit your videos really well , I genuinely look forward to seeing them.
Thanks so much 👍
That steak looked so good I sent the Mrs to Aldi to buy one. Love that spot, I would be very tempted to build a dugout into that slope.
thinking about it.. it was Lidl that I found it in.
I've considered a dugout shelter in that area for a while now.. one of those "one day" projects.
