- Wild camping alone on a cliff top in high winds and a smattering of rain.
Following a glorious day hiking in the Gower peninsular in South Wales on the coastal path taking in Culver hole and the worms head I set up camp on the cliffs near Port Eynon. with the weather set to turn nasty I hunkered down in my Hilliberg Akto for a windy night camping alone.

Beautiful video and great stories.
We love our animals, I know I do, ours just got fixed yesterday and she’s groggy and out today.
I love our Poppy like another child, nothing will replace her.
Keep up the videos we love them and your a staple now you and Mrs CLB
Thanks Trent. Means a lot.
Hope Poppy is getting better now 👍
@@CampLifeBushcraft doing better today
What a beautiful place to sort things out in your head. Therapy for the soul.
Yeah, I needed it mate.
Wow, presentation is truly breathtaking. What a stunning cinematography my friend. Congrats, stunning work! 🥾🥾
Thanks so much. I really enjoyed the trip. Stayed for a week and loved every bit of it. Going out of season is definitely the way forward.
Thank you for watching
Dan
I personally love these ones. Because they feel like a little achievement making it through, and it sticks out as a memorable camp.
Me too mate, really enjoyed it 👍
Epic wind and weather and great ocean views. This one was good to watch
Thanks mate 👍👍
Wales and Scotland are beautiful places for hiking and that.
For sure, this was my first time here.. but I’ll be returning for sure. Loved it.
Howdy Dan👍👍 Good to see you getting out for some quality alone time, soul searching, contemplation and solace. A man's got have time to his self every now and again, it renews faith continuing forward. The wind was horrendous but the tent lived up to its claims for durability. Incredible sea and coast line views, extremely rugged area there but beautiful and panoramic. Well done filming this one, must have been a bit tough at times scrambling the rocks and fighting the wind. Great video, thanks for the work bringing me along. See you in the next one.
Hey Terry. Thanks for that, glad you enjoyed it. I needed this one, and the nasty weather really helped.. nothing like a bot of jeopardy to focus the mind : )
This bit at the end. I was like WTF... Then I membered what you said earlier and watched it again.... Outstanding.
Hahaha, thanks mate.
Cracking vid bud. Wales knows how to welcome you with a little breeze in the morning. The gower is such a special place. It certainly clears the cobWebb's and gives you massive smiles.
Thanks mate! It was my first visit to Gower.. what a place, I was there a week and there was so much I didn’t get to see. Warrants a return visit I think.
WOW, what an incredible place. Thanks for sharing it with us.
My pleasure Vicki 😁
I did enjoy it, I’m glad the scenery came across on camera.
Great vid Dan. Good to see you smile and the clip at the end well...hilarious. 😂😂
Cheers mate, nothing like a bit of jeopardy to get the pulses going. Really needed that.
Appreciate you watching.. and getting to the secret track 👍👍
Nice video. Thanks Dan. I hope you and the family are going OK after the passing of Tink. Speaking from experience, you never get over it, you just learn to live with it. The animals are a full member of the family and it hurts a lot when they are gone. Cheers Evan.
Thanks mate, yeah we are ok.. a bit up and down at times, but doing ok.
Thanks for thinking of us.
Dan
That was worth the watch, just to see the Harlum Shake video at the end ... Lol !! Nice to see you back
Haha, cheers mate 😝
You sure packed Windy Wendy in with you on thiss one Dan. Eerie landscape full of besuty. Great change of scenery for you mate. Bushyboy Oz.
Haha, yeah it was a blowy night! My first visit to that part of the country. Not my last for sure. Loved it mate.
Thanks for watching.
Dan
Well done Dan a great adventure and I hope your week over there which looks awesome has cheered you up some, loved the rave at the end 😆👌👏👋
Thanks Phillip. It was a lovely change of scenery. Lots of family around to take our minds off things. Lots of rum too 😁
Great video making ! Very enjoyable to watch. Thank you !
Thanks Steven. Glad you enjoyed it.
Have a good weekend mate.
Dan 👍
Brilliant vid Dan. Just what you needed. Beautiful rough and yet weirdly calming. Now I know what you all got up to, leading my grandchildren astray 😂😂😂 don't think it took much 😂😂 just glad you all had a great time xx💖💖
it was a great trip, Jay and Kim really helped cheer us up.
the bit at the end was Jay's fault by the way.. he took me to the pub!
Spectacular! Cheers from the South Carolina Lowcountry
My first visit but not my last. So a wild place. I loved it.
Dan,you must be in great shape to hike over that rough terrain with that heavy 🎒 backpack...plus it was a bad place to twist a ankle, but you made it and a nice video you turned out, great scenery 👍 take care now!!!
I’ve got better at walking over the last few years. Going regularly has improved my stamina.. I still huff and puff but recovery is quicker.
Glad you enjoyed the film Ken, thank you for watching and leaving a comment.

I think windy is good description mate , wow stunning coast .
Brilliant as always, stay safe mate 👍🇬🇧👍🇬🇧
Thanks mate. I needed this one 👍
Wonderful coast adventure! Must have been so nice (and windy of course) to spend the night out there ;)
It was, I really enjoyed the visit.. had a great week and the camp out capped it off nicely.
Nice to see you out dude... Great location 👌 The bell sounded like something from the original Jaws film! #WindyAF #HarlemShake
Cheers mate. It’s an awesome place. I’ll be returning I’m sure. I heard that bell mist of the night.. quite ominous!
Good call Lee, for all of us old enough to appreciate the reference…..one of my favourite movies. …and here was me thinking you were going to call Dan out on the bottle of pee clipped to his rucksack strap at the end😆, ‘leave no trace’ - taken to S.A.S. ‘Hard routine’ extremes 😜😯
@@billyaitken7461 orange squash mate.. I can’t pee laying down, it’s not satisfying enough.
G'day Dan, having grown up by the sea, I'll always love a good coastline mate, throw in some history, awesome !!!
Yeah the trade off is often gonna be the wind, but that tent appears to have held up very well.
Btw; I fully expected Lee to pop out from under the table : ) Cheers Duke.
I'm loving that tent.. they're not cheap but I got mine 3rd hand off Warren for a good price. But I feel very safe inside so it was worth it.
I'd never been to that area and was super impressed. definitely planning a return visit.
cheers mate : )
Good and cool camp
Thanks bud 😁👍
Awesome views and narrative. Loved the sound of the sea but watching it fills me with a profound fear.
Accompanying music was relaxing and soothing.
Ps. You need a pee bottle lol
It was a scary sea that one.. not a place I’d be comfortable swimming that’s for sure!
I needed the time out and it was the perfect place. I’m glad you enjoyed the video.
Thank you for watching.
Dan
Cool pitch Dan, lovely spot even if it was a wee bit breezy ! Love the work bud, good entertainment mate keep it coming.
Regards
Moose
Hey bud, thank you. And thanks for the coffees! Legend.
My first visit to Gower. What a place, I was there a week and didn’t see the half of it. Definitely needs a return trip.
Have a good weekend mate.

Cheers... for Tink.
Thanks Bud.
Oh wowsa mate, I'm loving the video. Just a few minutes in and HAD to comment already :)
Legend!
Beautifully shot Dan. The sea views were fantastic and wow that drone footage! Great spot to pitch, and I was impressed by how unfazed you seemed by those high winds.
Great work on the Harlem Shake ending, a blast from the past! Ahhh those heady days of 2013. Daft Punk, Doge, Grumpy Cat, the Walkie Talkie melting cars, The Groceries Code Adjudicator Act, and the vast majority of beer in pubs still tasted like beer and not grapefruit. 😁
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it.
That tent is a mountain tent.. definitely capable in those conditions. They’re not cheap but if you can find a decent second hand o r like I got they’re worth it for the security.
And if the pole did snap it’s a large flappy bivi. Just wait it out until daylight 😁
The Harlem shake was fun to make.. far too much rum was consumed in the making.
beautiful vlog dan i used to spend the summer holidays on the gower with my aunt who had a farm when i was a kid i used to stay in like a 1 bed caravan in a field of cows who would be licking the windows in the morning really great times the swansea boys and girls taught me too surf. keep em coming dan you are the business keep smiling big man cheer loads russell
Thanks Russell. nice of you to say : )
So good there Mr CLB - you found a very special place up on the rocks there. What a night you had, wicked and wild ;) Thanks for sharing, cheers, Warren
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks mate.
Nice video of the windy Gower, are you sure it was rum and not 🍄 causing a Harlem ending 🤪
Definitely rum, we got through a fair bit 🙃🙃
U need an onsuite a large used comfort bottle is what I use when in my van, when a man has to go
I used to carry a wide mouth bottle for that reason.. but I find it hard togo while being hunched in a tent.
@@CampLifeBushcraft you bragger 😂
hahaha
The older you get, the more you need to pee at night! Get yourself a bottle! 👍🏼
You should always carry an empty bottle like a powerade bottle to wee in at night.
Proper rugged mate, no place for inflatable kayaks 😖‼️
😂😂😂 you’re right there!
Really nice though. Especially out of season. Hardly anyone about. 😁
@@CampLifeBushcraft Yeah, y’picked it right, minimal tourists. Next trip out on our boat will be to scatter our Dachshund’s ashes….dog loved getting out on that boat. 🙏 Best wishes to the rest of the family to mate, stay lucky🏕🍀
@@billyaitken7461 sorry you lost your dog mate. It ducks that they have such short lives.
@@CampLifeBushcraft yeah, the old sausage was 14 years old though. Still sucks, you’re right.
Jackdaws mate, not Crows. Lovely video once again though.
They may have been choughs as there were a lot of them around. But my eyesight isn’t good enough at that range 😝
Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching mate 👍
@@CampLifeBushcraft may be Choughts but they sound like Jackdaws
It’s pronounced port eye non
Thanks for that.
good vid m8
Thanks Jason!
lol!
Found the end bit?
