Nice video! In the actual airplane we would takeoff with the auto throttles armed. You bring the thrust up to approximately 40% N1, when they are stable, you push one of the TOGA (Takeoff/Go around) buttons on the thrust levels and the auto throttles will bring them up to the commanded takeoff thrust. Also, you arm the auto brakes in the RTO mode on the preflight to give you max braking in case of a rejected takeoff. After takeoff, once gear and flaps are up, autobrakes are turned off.

Flat spotting the tires with the brake on at push back warms the tires quickly and provides that good "thump thunp thump" on roll out that helps the pilots stay awake. ;-)
People don't realize how much goes on to get the airplane in the air. I have a friend of mine who at the age of 21 started flying with Continental. He stated out flying the small planes from Louisiana to Houston, but as in the flying world the senior pilots would bump lower grade guys if they wanted to take that route. He ended up quitting as he was about to starve to death on the low salary. But that's life.
Right, he would love to fly commercially but the money is not there. I remember back in the 60's that was a glamours job. I have seen some flight crews go from one airplane to another dead dog tired. They have a grueling schedule.

xyzyuhee you have to program it though the FMC. You have to hit menu on the FMC unit, go to PMDG setup, equipment, there you may see something dealing with the IRS alignment time. if its not on the first page you can hit next page and it will scroll though the options. If you can't find it, message me back and I can load up the flight sim and help you search for it.

start up isn't complicated. The process is going through all of the check lists. Its actually a more involved process because in a two person flight crew, all check list items must be verified by voice response . For example, If the PIC( pilot in control) says "parking brake set" the first officer( FO) must verify "parking brake set".
I made it to 1:24 before I confirmed to myself that this was every bit as complicated as I thought it would be. Hats off to all the fine pilots that have the patience and nerve to do this job.

At 14 I spent the summer at a roundhouse and learned how to pre-trip EMD and the Alco train engines.Later on ships,became certified in EMD 2 cycle engines.I'm retired after 47yrs. Now I dream of doing what you do.But, life isn't long enough.I guess it's too late. I can still dream,and wish and watch you and many of other videos.Thanks again!

for haha's, I looked up N738PM on the FAA n registry database. It is a valid number and the registered aircraft is a Cessna 172N built in 1977 and owned by an individual. Wow, I think we just blew the wings off at 240 knots! LOL This was cool; thanks for doing this and posting.

I've been "flying" these aircraft for years on M$ Flight Simulator X (desktop using Saitek Pro Flight Yolk controllers) and never realized there even was a check list for takeoff!! I just hit CTRL-E, fired up the engines, headed down the nearest taxiway, turned onto the next runway, hit the flaps, the throttles, and headed for the clouds... This video goes to show that it takes YEARS of real world training to achieve this high level of technical expertise when running through a check list. Like my Daddy always said, "You don't have to know how a car engine works in order to drive a car. But it sure helps to know, when the engine won't run." I'll subscribe right now. Great video!!

Thanks for this very detailed video. I worked for Continental Airlines for 20 years and had the privilege of flying in the flight deck jump seat around 12 times. I flew in the flight deck of a MD80, 737-500, 800, and a 767-200. By the way, I am not a pilot. Landing at night once in Seattle was the best landing. One Christmas present that I got at a management Christmas party was an hour behind the pilot's seat in a 737-500 simulator. It was by far the best thing I did while working for Continental Airlines. What a thrill.

Wonderful video - very informative. Reminds me though that pilots always say it is extremely, and I mean extrEmely rare for pilots on the line to find a cold/dark aircraft, yet many simmers insist on operating that way. But that's the joy of the sim :) And most of what you explained in in fact normal, cold/dark start or not.
Actually, it's quit common for us on the line to show up to a "cold dark airplane"!! We perform these "checks" 3 or 4 times during a trip, it is pretty common for us!! This is NOT an extremely rare event for us.
jeff henley I would never presume to tell a rw pilot what happens :) My comment was based on comments from a retired senior captain. His advice to us sim pilots was that overall cold/dark start was not average for most operators, but that indeed in some places it could be.
I have a friend who is a Jet Blue Commander and now I can likely have some kind of conversation with him. He showed me his Iphone pics of St. Elmos Fire from, I think, a 737 cockpit. THAT was impressive. This start up and take off procedure was fascinating! Thanks.
I m 40 y old dude from Brazil. To be an airplane pilot was the 1st career that I wanted to get into it and I thought about it when I was 12 y old. I liked airplanes a lot and my grandpa was a retired aircraft service technician. But by that time, in the 80´s and 90´s, we had here in Brazil very few private flight schools, and they were very expensive, and most people would try to get into the airforce to get into the pilot trainning, but it was very hard to get into it due to the high competition. Then I ended up leaving it alone and I began liking to do other things. But I still love airplanes and traveling.
Nice video. All of the commentators telling you what you did wrong was equally as entertaining. Don't listen to the people without a type rating, because as far as I can tell you'd of gotten the real thing airborne just fine. (Short of leaving your tires on the ramp)
As a mechanic I can say the detail is crazy. Love the worn paint in the cockpit, almost all 37s I’ve worked on have they grey paint on the floor worn away
mate this is a 15 year old sim and a 10 year old aircraft model, if you wanna see this up to a whole new level, look up the "MSFS PMDG 737-700" its 5x as detailed and realistic as this old model

@Pilotguy2011 I do not want to troll you in anyway. I must say, as a non-rated 737 person, your knowledge and understanding of the system is pretty good. However, to make your take off more realistic try to use the the resources you have by using the data you programmed into the CDU in the preflight stage. That said, during take off roll - advance the thrust levers to aprrox. 40% N1, when stabilised - press the TO/GA button on the thrust lever (this sets the airplane into takoff mode, also the FD's) after rotation follow the FD's until accelereation/thrust reduction altitude, thereafter set the speed bug accordinngly to UP speed. when the speed tape passes the number of flaps, retract the flaps accordingly (passing 5, retract to 1, passing 1 retract to up) unlike you did, retracting the flaps too late. when the flaps are UP you can flollow VNAV. using V/S can sometimes not be so nice, as i saw in you video that the thrust was reduced quite a lot without the need for it. In addiotion, you are in danger of stalling the aircraft without the proper X-check. (maybe Lvl. change would have been better) Anyhow, i liked watching your video. if you have any questions feel free to contact me Rated 737 Pilot

Keep in mind those watching that he is doing the work of 2 pilots here. this is a multicrew job usually between the pilot flying in the left seat and the pilot not flying in the right seat. from where hes sitting he would not being doing the right side overhead checks

This was one of the first videos I watched about the pmdg 737. I thought how complicated it was and what a big learning curve it's gonna be. I've come a far way understanding all of it. The funny thing is it seems soo simple now
Very nice video! :D But when you are on a taxiway or apron you have to turn off your strobe lights. Just the Nav-Lights need to be on while taxiing. And the Taxi light should be on for the Taxi as well. When you enter the runway you normaly put the Packs to off, strobe lights and runway turnoff lights to on and set the clock to "run". When you are straight cleared for takeoff you can put on the landing lights while entering the runway but when you are just cleared to line up you leave them off. No offending against you just a small advice :)

Yes your dad should buy you a plane. Everyone who can fly one on the playstation is good enough to handle one in the real world. But say to your dad that the Boeing 747 is out of date so he should buy you a newer aircraft like a Boeing 707 or a DC-6. A 727 would work as well but this one is so new that there still are some mistakes in it.

The "carrier practice" with five launches and traps with a 1000 foot ceiling is a blast in FSX. You start close to dusk, and your last trap is in the dark. Don't forget Shift + Q = tail hook, otherwise you are in for a shock.
I loved the Chuck Yeager Flight Sim on my 4.77mhz XT w/CGA graphics. It had a frame rate of about 1 frame per second until you gave it input and would drop to .7 to .5 FPS.
As a former crew chief on F-16's this all seems complicated to the normal person. I guarantee that if you have the desire you can be a pilot. It's not difficult to start the F-16 as it's slightly similar as we had to run the engine for maintenance checks. We follow a checklist very similar to civilian pilots. This explanation by this young man is spot on and FSX is a fine program to have fun and really get into flying.
Does the F-16 require a set of keys to start like a car? A rebellious former pilot could just sneak onto an airforce base and just steal the thing if no keys are required. I assume those planes have to be fueled up and ready to go for national security reasons.
No keys, but many a new guy got to look for them. As for thanking me, it was my choice and my honor to serve. The Falcon is the finest aircraft in the world in my opinion.
Seems to me there are some major automation and simplifications needed in this type of cockpit. And, no doubt, a somewhat radical recalibration of the minds behind the rules and regs that dictate these kinds of procedures. Great video, BTW. Loved it.
Imagine when a flight engineer was needed - with the FMC full flight plans can be loaded with virtually a click and the autopilot does lots of the work. The Flight Management Computer does most of the work of the engineer - alarms when things are not normal, displays all kinds of info like batteries, doors, temperatures, tire pressure, brake temp, etc.
I was thinking the same. Why not one big button like "do pre engine start check" and then every knob and sensor and whatsoever is checked for the correct settings. That's exactly what machines are good at: stupid, repetitious stuff with clear aims and no complex decision making required. Humans however will overlook things or at least take quite some time to go through the checklist, because every "machine" info has to be translated through HIDs and back again. Where's the real advantage of leaving this to the human?
John Doe I only know about 300-ER (Which I haven't checked out for a while now - maybe there's a newer version of it that I don't know), but it doesn't and pilots still rely on conventional, physical checklists.
I do pretty much the same each day: ✅Unlock door....check ✅Open door and settle in seat....check ✅Close door and lock (if in a bad hood)....check ✅Insert coffee into cup holder....check ✅Blot splashed coffee from right pant leg....check ✅Engage seat belt....check ✅Check teeth in mirror for spinach....check ✅Adjust rear view and sport mirrors....check ✅Check fuel level....check ✅Insert engine key....check ✅Start engine....check ✅Turn on music system (Wow!...that's LOUD!...was I really listening to it that loud previously?)....check ✅Release parking brake....check ✅Foot on manual brake....check ✅Transition shifter from 'park' to 'drive'....check ✅Look for that dam cat in driveway....check ✅Release manual brake....check ✅Apply pressure to accelerator pedal....check ✅Exit driveway and try not to collide with neighbors kid playing hoops in the street....check ✅Run over kids skateboard instead, roll window down and explain to kid you'll be back later to talk to his Dad about it....check ✅Proceed down street toot horn and give a smile and a wink to Mrs Melrose tending to her garden....check ✅Roll up window....check ✅Proceed 5 miles into town....check ✅Spit gum out....check ✅Peel gum off window you forgot to roll back down....check ✅Make U-turn after realizing Wife's grocery list was forgotten....check ✅Return to base with nothing accomplished....check ✅Endure Wife's 10 minute rant about how you forgot her shopping list....check ✅Start check list over....check ✅Decide not to go back out, pop a beer and sit in front of TV, groceries can wait till tomorrow....check.
I love the little detail of the stab trim wheels making the exact perfect clicking noise. That sim doesn’t do the takeoff warning noise justice tho, it’s LOUD.

Fascinating. Very impressive procedure to getting one of these birds in the air. Makes me feel safe as a passenger, too. I'm looking into a professional simulator program and learn to do this myself, although this is just as a hobbyist. Operating a city ground Bus is as far as I go for mass transit. Bus's are a lot easier to start, too. LOL
Amen! That’s actually one of my main interests in using the flight sim. To try to quantify and slow the age degradation of my grey matter, by flying IFR navigation and approaches and learning the FMS (FMC). It should be complex and challenging enough and is at least something I find interesting (as opposed to learning a foreign language). We’ll see how it goes! Good luck to us geezers!

It's PMDG indeed. What u need is a strong CPU in your pc, running between 4.0 GHz and 5.0 GHz. Also i prefer a Nvidia GTX version as a GPU. A balanced rig and a good FSX install is most important at the end. Don't tweak the FSX.cfg file too much, i use the Nick'n guide as a pointer. Also, don't let your FSX get fed up with too much addons. In the end, FSX will never be flawless, it's just a matter of getting it running smooth! :-)
Unfortunately I'm running my FSX on a 4 year old Compaq laptop. I've been thinking about building a dedicated gaming computer soon. Thanks for the info and cool vid.

Nice video👍🏻 Some pointers; -Allignment takes 10mins on 737NGs, not 20 -You forgot the pos lights (mentioned but not switched on) -You forgot to release the brakes before pushback (which I think you mentioned) - All hyd pumps should be on before engine start -Start lever at 20% N2 is way early, this is the minimum motoring speed, you should have 25% or max motoring (about 29%) - You should have mentioned that the starter cutout occurs at 56% and that the Start Valve Open message goes off. - And you’re a bit late with the taxi light 😉
Nice video. N1 is the fan speed percentage is not a turbine. The turbines are located after the combustion chamber. Turbines drive the fan and the compressor and then, the compressor drives the turbines. The engine is a self-contained system as long as there is air/fuel combustion. In high bypass engines, 70% of the total thrust is provided by the fan. 30% is provided by the hot gases coming from the core of the engine.
Also, it used to be quite common that APU's would not be functional on some planes. As a result, ground crew would attach a unit called a "buffer" to the plane. This would provide air pressure to the plane to start the first engine. Once the first engine is started and self sustaining then they detach the "buffer" as the 1st engine can start the others.
Having worked on the 73s for most of my employed life, the above is a repetition and consequently becomes second nature. The checklist is to make sure and deal with interruptions. Pilots on the majors rarely see a "dead" aircraft as the engineers wake them up.
George Cicairos I also put it in reverse like a car, and if I’m in a hurry from the police, I takeoff instantly without bothering about any incoming planes or unsuitable terrain.. but the crosswinds are realistic though 😂

I didn't know that cockpit windows could open, or that there was an emergency escape rope (above the co-pilot's seat behind a panel, labeled), and that in general the safety equipment was so extensive. But as others have said: every safety rule and feature cost lives to implement. Fantastic machines.
Nice, informative, remember however the flow patterns and processes always change according to the individual airline's checklist philosophy, but this is a great swichology vid for the aircraft. I do fly it, several thousand hours in it. And enjoyed every minute.
It can all be learned and memorised, looks scary if you've never actually flown a plane before, but if you've had flying experience in smaller planes it's just a case of remembering. You'd be surprised at how many switches and dials are in some large vehicle's. Lights dipped, full, indicator stalk, gps system, electric window buttons front and back, cruise control switch, air con , climate control switches, heater, hazard warning lights, various dash lights to warm of low oil pressure, tyre pressure, seatbelt warning, air bag lights, abs lights.. Most of which is ignored lol As are Speed signs, warning signs, road markings, traffic lights etc.. If you consciously took notice and where aware of all these things then you wouldn't be so overwhelmed by a jet planes cockpit

Most of the reason they're not moving is because they're waiting for clearance, not because they're flipping switches

I work as a ramp attendant and during some startups when we use communications to the pilot I can hear them doing these checks. it's really cool.

Thanks for this very detailed video. I worked for Continental Airlines for 20 years and had the privilege of flying in the flight deck jump seat around 12 times. I flew in the flight deck of a MD80, 737-500, 800, and a 767-200. By the way, I am not a pilot. Landing at night once in Seattle was the best landing.
One Christmas present that I got at a management Christmas party was an hour behind the pilot's seat in a 737-500 simulator. It was by far the best thing I did while working for Continental Airlines. What a thrill.

Wonderful video - very informative. Reminds me though that pilots always say it is extremely, and I mean extrEmely rare for pilots on the line to find a cold/dark aircraft, yet many simmers insist on operating that way. But that's the joy of the sim :) And most of what you explained in in fact normal, cold/dark start or not.
Actually, it's quit common for us on the line to show up to a "cold dark airplane"!! We perform these "checks" 3 or 4 times during a trip, it is pretty common for us!! This is NOT an extremely rare event for us.
jeff henley I would never presume to tell a rw pilot what happens :) My comment was based on comments from a retired senior captain. His advice to us sim pilots was that overall cold/dark start was not average for most operators, but that indeed in some places it could be.

I m 40 y old dude from Brazil. To be an airplane pilot was the 1st career that I wanted to get into it and I thought about it when I was 12 y old. I liked airplanes a lot and my grandpa was a retired aircraft service technician. But by that time, in the 80´s and 90´s, we had here in Brazil very few private flight schools, and they were very expensive, and most people would try to get into the airforce to get into the pilot trainning, but it was very hard to get into it due to the high competition. Then I ended up leaving it alone and I began liking to do other things. But I still love airplanes and traveling.

All of the commentators telling you what you did wrong was equally as entertaining. Don't listen to the people without a type rating, because as far as I can tell you'd of gotten the real thing airborne just fine. (Short of leaving your tires on the ramp)

As a mechanic I can say the detail is crazy. Love the worn paint in the cockpit, almost all 37s I’ve worked on have they grey paint on the floor worn away
mate this is a 15 year old sim and a 10 year old aircraft model, if you wanna see this up to a whole new level, look up the "MSFS PMDG 737-700" its 5x as detailed and realistic as this old model

@Pilotguy2011 I do not want to troll you in anyway. I must say, as a non-rated 737 person, your knowledge and understanding of the system is pretty good. However, to make your take off more realistic try to use the the resources you have by using the data you programmed into the CDU in the preflight stage. That said, during take off roll - advance the thrust levers to aprrox. 40% N1, when stabilised - press the TO/GA button on the thrust lever (this sets the airplane into takoff mode, also the FD's) after rotation follow the FD's until accelereation/thrust reduction altitude, thereafter set the speed bug accordinngly to UP speed. when the speed tape passes the number of flaps, retract the flaps accordingly (passing 5, retract to 1, passing 1 retract to up) unlike you did, retracting the flaps too late. when the flaps are UP you can flollow VNAV. using V/S can sometimes not be so nice, as i saw in you video that the thrust was reduced quite a lot without the need for it. In addiotion, you are in danger of stalling the aircraft without the proper X-check. (maybe Lvl. change would have been better)

Keep in mind those watching that he is doing the work of 2 pilots here. this is a multicrew job usually between the pilot flying in the left seat and the pilot not flying in the right seat. from where hes sitting he would not being doing the right side overhead checks

But when you are on a taxiway or apron you have to turn off your strobe lights. Just the Nav-Lights need to be on while taxiing. And the Taxi light should be on for the Taxi as well. When you enter the runway you normaly put the Packs to off, strobe lights and runway turnoff lights to on and set the clock to "run".
When you are straight cleared for takeoff you can put on the landing lights while entering the runway but when you are just cleared to line up you leave them off.
No offending against you just a small advice :)

Yes your dad should buy you a plane. Everyone who can fly one on the playstation is good enough to handle one in the real world. But say to your dad that the Boeing 747 is out of date so he should buy you a newer aircraft like a Boeing 707 or a DC-6. A 727 would work as well but this one is so new that there still are some mistakes in it.

The "carrier practice" with five launches and traps with a 1000 foot ceiling is a blast in FSX. You start close to dusk, and your last trap is in the dark. Don't forget Shift + Q = tail hook, otherwise you are in for a shock.
Omg flight sims have come along way since delta wing (1984) on the Sinclair spectrum 48k.......
I loved the Chuck Yeager Flight Sim on my 4.77mhz XT w/CGA graphics. It had a frame rate of about 1 frame per second until you gave it input and would drop to .7 to .5 FPS.
I remember that. I spent hours playing it.
Now you just need a giant 3D printer, then you can print this plane out and you'll have your very own 737!

As a former crew chief on F-16's this all seems complicated to the normal person. I guarantee that if you have the desire you can be a pilot. It's not difficult to start the F-16 as it's slightly similar as we had to run the engine for maintenance checks. We follow a checklist very similar to civilian pilots. This explanation by this young man is spot on and FSX is a fine program to have fun and really get into flying.

Does the F-16 require a set of keys to start like a car? A rebellious former pilot could just sneak onto an airforce base and just steal the thing if no keys are required. I assume those planes have to be fueled up and ready to go for national security reasons.
No keys, but many a new guy got to look for them.
As for thanking me, it was my choice and my honor to serve. The Falcon is the finest aircraft in the world in my opinion.

Seems to me there are some major automation and simplifications needed in this type of cockpit. And, no doubt, a somewhat radical recalibration of the minds behind the rules and regs that dictate these kinds of procedures. Great video, BTW. Loved it.
Imagine when a flight engineer was needed - with the FMC full flight plans can be loaded with virtually a click and the autopilot does lots of the work. The Flight Management Computer does most of the work of the engineer - alarms when things are not normal, displays all kinds of info like batteries, doors, temperatures, tire pressure, brake temp, etc.
I was thinking the same. Why not one big button like "do pre engine start check" and then every knob and sensor and whatsoever is checked for the correct settings. That's exactly what machines are good at: stupid, repetitious stuff with clear aims and no complex decision making required. Humans however will overlook things or at least take quite some time to go through the checklist, because every "machine" info has to be translated through HIDs and back again. Where's the real advantage of leaving this to the human?
Yeah but then you could just throw a message "hey human, this doesnt seem right, go figure". thats where the human should start at.

I only know about 300-ER (Which I haven't checked out for a while now - maybe there's a newer version of it that I don't know), but it doesn't and pilots still rely on conventional, physical checklists.

✅Foot on manual brake....check
✅Transition shifter from 'park' to 'drive'....check
✅Look for that dam cat in driveway....check
✅Release manual brake....check
✅Apply pressure to accelerator pedal....check
✅Exit driveway and try not to collide with neighbors kid playing hoops in the street....check

I love the little detail of the stab trim wheels making the exact perfect clicking noise. That sim doesn’t do the takeoff warning noise justice tho, it’s LOUD.

Fascinating. Very impressive procedure to getting one of these birds in the air. Makes me feel safe as a passenger, too. I'm looking into a professional simulator program and learn to do this myself, although this is just as a hobbyist. Operating a city ground Bus is as far as I go for mass transit. Bus's are a lot easier to start, too. LOL

Amen! That’s actually one of my main interests in using the flight sim. To try to quantify and slow the age degradation of my grey matter, by flying IFR navigation and approaches and learning the FMS (FMC). It should be complex and challenging enough and is at least something I find interesting (as opposed to learning a foreign language). We’ll see how it goes! Good luck to us geezers!
My default airplane has nothing close to the detail or functionality of this demonstration. How do I get my FSX running with this kind of visual as well as functionality. Please tell me. Thanks for the really cool upload and demo...
I don't believe the default 737 has all these functions/visuals etc. Might want to look around for some freeware planes.
This is a payware plane from PMDG. It's called the NGX.
It's PMDG indeed. What u need is a strong CPU in your pc, running between 4.0 GHz and 5.0 GHz. Also i prefer a Nvidia GTX version as a GPU. A balanced rig and a good FSX install is most important at the end. Don't tweak the FSX.cfg file too much, i use the Nick'n guide as a pointer. Also, don't let your FSX get fed up with too much addons. In the end, FSX will never be flawless, it's just a matter of getting it running smooth! :-)
Unfortunately I'm running my FSX on a 4 year old Compaq laptop. I've been thinking about building a dedicated gaming computer soon. Thanks for the info and cool vid.

What about fuel level, that's critical when landing.

-Allignment takes 10mins on 737NGs, not 20
-You forgot the pos lights (mentioned but not switched on)
-You forgot to release the brakes before pushback (which I think you mentioned)
- All hyd pumps should be on before engine start
-Start lever at 20% N2 is way early, this is the minimum motoring speed, you should have 25% or max motoring (about 29%)
- You should have mentioned that the starter cutout occurs at 56% and that the Start Valve Open message goes off.
- And you’re a bit late with the taxi light 😉

Nice video. N1 is the fan speed percentage is not a turbine. The turbines are located after the combustion chamber. Turbines drive the fan and the compressor and then, the compressor drives the turbines. The engine is a self-contained system as long as there is air/fuel combustion. In high bypass engines, 70% of the total thrust is provided by the fan. 30% is provided by the hot gases coming from the core of the engine.
Also, it used to be quite common that APU's would not be functional on some planes. As a result, ground crew would attach a unit called a "buffer" to the plane. This would provide air pressure to the plane to start the first engine. Once the first engine is started and self sustaining then they detach the "buffer" as the 1st engine can start the others.
It took me 14 minutes to realize you weren't at the Columbus Ohio airport

Having worked on the 73s for most of my employed life, the above is a repetition and consequently becomes second nature. The checklist is to make sure and deal with interruptions. Pilots on the majors rarely see a "dead" aircraft as the engineers wake them up.
When it becomes second nature is precisely when a checklist is critical to safety.

I didn't know that cockpit windows could open, or that there was an emergency escape rope (above the co-pilot's seat behind a panel, labeled), and that in general the safety equipment was so extensive. But as others have said: every safety rule and feature cost lives to implement. Fantastic machines.

You wouldn't spill coffee on it, but if you did, then it would be very bad and would cause lots of problems...

Nice, informative, remember however the flow patterns and processes always change according to the individual airline's checklist philosophy, but this is a great swichology vid for the aircraft. I do fly it, several thousand hours in it. And enjoyed every minute.

It can all be learned and memorised, looks scary if you've never actually flown a plane before, but if you've had flying experience in smaller planes it's just a case of remembering.
You'd be surprised at how many switches and dials are in some large vehicle's.
Lights dipped, full, indicator stalk, gps system, electric window buttons front and back, cruise control switch, air con , climate control switches, heater, hazard warning lights, various dash lights to warm of low oil pressure, tyre pressure, seatbelt warning, air bag lights, abs lights..
Most of which is ignored lol
As are Speed signs, warning signs, road markings, traffic lights etc..
If you consciously took notice and where aware of all these things then you wouldn't be so overwhelmed by a jet planes cockpit
