Thank you all the guys who like my playing. I posted this video 4.5 years ago and barely came back to check it. I did' t know that there are so many people to like it. I was a beginner at that time and still a beginner right now because life is tough here and I don't have much time to practice. This is a beautiful piece of music and Cessebabe arranged the sheet very well. All I did is just to play it. I saw many comments mentioning Asian. Seems like there's a strong stereotype about Asian, haha. But I practiced a lot before recording this video, just like most people do before showing their videos. So there's nothing to do with my ethnicity but only practicing. And I am not a nerd; music is just one of my hobbies, just like most people - including westerners. Thank you all anyway.
To those who like my video with praise and kindness: Thank you all. I may not deserve this but I appreciate all of your words. I've sold my piano and turned my music interest to accordion. I've had so much fun with my accordion. But who knows? Maybe I'll buy a piano and play it again someday. Anyway, thank you all and may the music be with you. Cheers. To those who think they can judge people from places and cultures they don't know: Lifes may look different at the beginning, but in the end all of us come to a very same, infinitesimal point. So please be kinder to, not just others, but to your own soul. Treat it well. Acon
You are such a talented and thoughtful individual, this video is wonderful even after such a long time. I hope that wherever life takes you, good fortune follows; you certainly deserve it!
I am glad this pianist did not separate the first few notes by a lot, like most other youtube musicians do, because it is at the right length already, any more and you begin to lose connection to the rhythm . I am happy that he is precise with his rhythm and clear.
After many years of listening to this version, this is still the most earnestly brilliant and soulful rendition of this amazing song that I have heard to this day, which is why I still look for it, kudos sir
holy fuck from the first two notes i could tell this was incredible. listening and watching people like you really makes me wish i had continued to learn piano. incredible great talent :D
Was watching this at first to try and learn the song and see how it's played, but then I found myself stopping and smiling just listening to you play. Awesome man, thanks!
All those asian jokes and whines that only asian people can do this.. I bet this man has practiced hours and hours in his life to be a very good pianist. The problem with alot of people is mentality, laziness and lack of persistence. Will Smith once said: "Talent you have naturally. Skill is only developed by hours and hours and hours of beating on your craft." Anyway, very well played mr Cheng!
Having listened to many version of "time", I can tell by the first few notes if it's gonna be very good. Oh my god your version is very closed to Hans Zimmer's live in Prague. Wow. I myself possibly can't play this even I tried. But I can guide my 5 and a half year old son to play this one day hopefully he can play as good as you one day. :)
The link of the sheet was just updated. I don't own this sheet. It's arranged by an TH-camr Cessebabe. I just downloaded and played his great work. Enjoy it! Cheers. Acon
I love playing music such as this on the guitar (though I would not do Mr Zimmer much justice I suspect at first) and though he only is using 5 distinct chords here, sound that emanates from the instrument is amazing.
No one truly knows what is and what is not. We all have a different type of life and no one can ever know what is hidden within. You sir are awesome. Never get offended by the few people that don't see past of what is on front of them.
Because American culture is watching Jerry Springer and eating hamburgers. While you guys are stuffing another burger in your mouth, this guy is practising piano :). No offence intended!
@Leo Xu Incorrect. In the UK the spelling I used is correct as 'practise' is a verb, and 'practice' is a noun. It's not really that important either way, you are just being a spelling nazi. Thanks.
I love your compositon of this, I learnt it myself over a year ago and still to this day remains one of my favourite songs to play. So simple, yet so beautiful.
You are truly talented, and its amazing that you have only played for 2 years and you can play something like this. I know first hand, as I am a piano player too, that it takes dedication, patience and commitment to be really good at piano. I say a job well done!
i like how you press each key firmly and determined. It's pretty obvious how much you have practised. I wish, even after ten years of learning, can play piano like you, with full familiarity and confidence with every single note being played. The chinese word “胸有成竹” is the only word i can think of to describe you.
What's great is that it doesn't seem like all that difficult of a song. Not knocking your piano skills, this performance was fantastic. But the most difficult part seems to be the big chords, and the middle where it starts going up and down in octaves. This song looks extremely fun to play.
you really mastered the warmth of this piece a lot of videos here play it technically very well but all those little things, the slight pauses, the slow rises, are what makes your video great. i can almost hear the ocean waves in your crescendos
Practicing this is so much fun, I love this track, I absolutely love Inception and I really like the way you played this. "Time" is just the most emotional (nonvocal) piece of music I know.
Fabulous - BRAVO!! That has got to be very difficult to play even for someone trained so well. You did brilliantly and bring no less power to the piece than Hans version on the soundtrack. LOVE IT!! 8)
if this is you at beginner stage then the bar has definitely been raised and I have no doubt you are now absolutely superb if this is anything to go by

Its such simple song yet it has such a impact. Zimmer is truly a mastermind! And thank you for this awesome cover!cheers from vegas
Acon Cheng Another admirer from Vegas. It is a real piece of creation, and I like your playing.!
you stole my heart with that piece. it's rare to see such talent!!!!
+Acon Cheng You do this piece great justice. Thank you.
+Acon Cheng Cheers from Reno Mate!

i think you should continue playing the piano you are very good at it! *it is sad to see a fellow pianist stop playing*
Thank you for doing a cover of this song :)
great performance
I am glad this pianist did not separate the first few notes by a lot, like most other youtube musicians do, because it is at the right length already, any more and you begin to lose connection to the rhythm . I am happy that he is precise with his rhythm and clear.
Excellent breakdown, I totally agree
After many years of listening to this version, this is still the most earnestly brilliant and soulful rendition of this amazing song that I have heard to this day, which is why I still look for it, kudos sir
holy fuck from the first two notes i could tell this was incredible. listening and watching people like you really makes me wish i had continued to learn piano. incredible great talent :D
***** Haha
well, I agree with you.. it was a mistake giving up piano... I couldn't imagine my life without it :(
Finally. Someone who actually captures the essence of the piece, without any unneeded ornamentation to make it fancy. Perfect
You've reached my 5 replays mark of excellence, this is great work.
I remember watching this over a decade ago and feeling so inspired to practice it myself. Thanks for this cover, Acon!
Thanks. I'm glad that someone still remembers this piece of music after a decade.
I'm watching this in July 2019. It's the best one I've found so far. Very well done brother!
Was watching this at first to try and learn the song and see how it's played, but then I found myself stopping and smiling just listening to you play. Awesome man, thanks!
2:02 is where my jaw just dropped.. Absolutely memorising and perfectly executed. Well done!
Trying to learn that bit is so hard i just fuckin skipped that shit
To hard for me
Ha
Thats what she said

Brak mi słów. Najpiękniejsza wersja na tym instrumencie jaką usłyszałem...
Totally wonderful...
I wish i could play this Song like you.. Beautiful
the amount of emotion you put into this is incredible
Amazing! Beautiful!
Absolutely beautiful. played so well and with such emotion :)
the notes are so simple, yet so perfect.
I hate how every one is saying racist stuff, you're a great pianist and this video was amazing! Good work.
I egree hopefully I will play this im learning piano soon
This comment section is everything but racist, where did you get that idea ?
You are lost kid. Get back to your basement you liar!
Racism is associated with hate which does not fit to this comment section
This is the best piano version of this really beautiful music I have found yet.thanks
i started crying at 0:04
Hearing your wonderful arrangement, it moved me to tears. Thank you
This is truly beautiful. Thank you.
That is a beautiful piano. And it must be happy to have a truly talented pianist passionately playing it.
You play beautifully!
This is a beautiful translation of what can only be described as a classic. Thank You....!!!
All those asian jokes and whines that only asian people can do this.. I bet this man has practiced hours and hours in his life to be a very good pianist.

This is fantastic and touching rendering of the original piece. I listen to it everyday while working.

That was absolutely sensational, got goosebumps watching this

i could never think any inception soundtrack being played on the piano. until i saw this video. this is simply amazing. :)
I like this one much better than Kyle Landrys version.
Jacob Lund this one underlines the beautifulness of this awesome song
This one is definitely beautiful, but to be honest I like Kyle Landrys version better
I really like the restraint in your dynamics. A calm approach like this brings out the harmonic depth just as well. Great playing!
The link of the sheet was just updated. I don't own this sheet. It's arranged by an TH-camr Cessebabe. I just downloaded and played his great work. Enjoy it! Cheers. Acon
No, we cheer you! Well done, it sounds beautiful. :)
til this day i never heard somebody playing that song this great
Way better than Kyle Landry's version - incredible!!!!
Nahhh kyle's is better
Thank god for gifting humanity with this artist :)
piano skill level asian
***** Yes, very aware that it was Hans Zimmer who wrote it.
But not even Hans Zimmer could've played Time in this complexity so good.
what a grand piano sound!!! Nice playing too!
82 people are stuck in limbo
This is the most beautiful piano version of this song I've heard.
Lol KAWAI piano :D

Don't mean to be racist but as soon as I saw an asian I knew this was going to be good

Well you didn't mean to be but you were racist. Lol

If anything, the people commenting Asian are complimenting you... Once you hit that Asian level you've made it
Best rendition of this piece on youtube, inspired me to learn it myself. Thank you
Asian see skill. Asian learn skill. Asian excel at skill. Asian look for new skill.
Westerner see skill, westerner gets jealous, westerner does nothing :D good point
Westerner see skill, westerner gets jealous, westerner does nothing :D good point
GAMLAPATTE aha i see wat u did there
No, it is probably more correct to say SOME asians copy SOME westeners
*****
You may be right there, I was talking about skills, not creativity
This is probably my most watched video on youtube...it's the best piano cover of 'time' out there
Remember: there's always an asian better than you
Because American culture is watching Jerry Springer and eating hamburgers. While you guys are stuffing another burger in your mouth, this guy is practising piano :). No offence intended!

Remember there's always people that will work harder than you. But keep making those asian jokes while you sit on your lazy ass.
I love your compositon of this, I learnt it myself over a year ago and still to this day remains one of my favourite songs to play. So simple, yet so beautiful.
Level = asian

probably the best cover of this song out there rn
The way you are playing this is so beautiful ! :) this performance of time in piano is the best i've seen on TH-cam *-*
One of my very favorite film music pieces, you did it very beautifully, thank you for sharing!
What's great is that it doesn't seem like all that difficult of a song. Not knocking your piano skills, this performance was fantastic. But the most difficult part seems to be the big chords, and the middle where it starts going up and down in octaves. This song looks extremely fun to play.
Outstanding job- you really captured the feeling of the original score, and it's obvious you have a talent with those ivories
Very beautiful and nicely played! Best piano cover of this song I've seen on youtube so far. Congrats!
Beautiful. I love the slow gradual build up and the melody that was true to what the instruments played. Great job!!
you really mastered the warmth of this piece
a lot of videos here play it technically very well but all those little things, the slight pauses, the slow rises, are what makes your video great. i can almost hear the ocean waves in your crescendos
這是很好 You played it with the proper emotions, the building of the suspense was just perfect.
What a listening joy to you presentation of this music. Thanks for uploading it for the rest of us.
i love this for the fact that it's simple yet beautiful
Practicing this is so much fun, I love this track, I absolutely love Inception and I really like the way you played this.
"Time" is just the most emotional (nonvocal) piece of music I know.
this is the piano solo arrangement I've been looking for!
Very nice for someone who plays only for two years! Bravo! And thank you for playing and placing!
I dont usually give credits on youtube, but that was amazing. Thank you for that brief moment of trance and self-awareness
This is so flawless, it just makes me want to cry,so amazing...Good job. I love this piano song.
I am so quiet and relax listening your piano cover!
I had a shiver as I hear this song.. Your arrangement is so beautiful!!!
Great job! One of my favorite works by Zimmer, but of course he has many great works.
An excellent arrangement of a haunting melody. Well done!
I think this is the best piano cover I have ever hear
This is amazing. My favourite piece of Hans Zimmer's work and I would just like to say you've done it amazingly. Well done!
