    wow. i really enjoy how honest and genuine you were about what you would pack if you could take everything you wanted in a bag. You're the 4th video review of this bag that i've watched tonight and are my favorite take. I was most sad about the lack of water bottle pocket, but immediate knew i would either put it up top, or in my lite sling so when you brought it out I was like YES! (i was hyped to find out bellroy came out with this bag, because i LOVE the lite sling. I've been wearing it for years. Great video review man. Love your style, such an easy, non-gimmicky watch. I look forward to seeing more content from you for sure! :)

    Always amazed of all the tech you are carrying in your travel bag 😇
    I fully agree with you regarding the lack of an external water bottle pocket, for me it’s a major no go for a travel backpack. It’s so convenient as well to store a wet umbrella during winter season.

    • @joshfenn
      @joshfenn  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I’d imagine it can be tough to implement with some of these designs, but it’s a pretty big priority for a lot of us. Hopefully they include it in a future update and other bag companies do the same

    • @Medsas
      @Medsas 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      why do you need an external water bottle pocket for a travel backpack? the bag should only be used during the travel days, where water is plentiful (on the plane or train). a water bottle pocket makes way more sense for a daypack where carrying water is important, so imo there should be a packable daypack stored inside this bag

    • @928ruf
      @928ruf 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Medsas When travelling to my destination with the travel backpack, my water bottle and my umbrella are usually used during the commute from home to the airport or train station and then on arrival before reaching my hotel or airbnb. If stored in the bag, they are useless and will as well waste too much space inside.

    Ooo, I love that backpack! Definitely one to think about. And I agree--I prefer having a water bottle pocket on my backpacks. I am not sure why they aren't included in so many of the high-end backpacks. It is close to a must for me--I don't want to dig around in my bag for my water bottle. Thank you for a great video! I usually travel every other month or so, but have had a respite this summer--which has been a nice break.

      Comfort is a bit better than expected for this style of bag. Not quite as comfortable as a heavier more ‘full featured’ support system bags but the straps are quite a bit thicker than the smaller bags in the lite series and it carries well for my frame

    Random question, but would you be able to measure the dimensions of it when fairly packed out?
    The Bellroy website has specs that seem really off. The 30L measures to only be 22L given the dimensions, while the 38L ends up around 32.7, and even more weird is the Transit 28L measures to be 39.3L (!!!) based on their given measurements. I have the transit 28L and like it a lot but am considering one of these for more serious travel but the dimensions have me scratching my head

    • @joshfenn
      @joshfenn  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Happy to help! I stuffed a blanket and some clothes in just now to measure, it’s pretty difficult to be accurate with how unstructured it is but this is what I got: 18”H x 13”W x 10.5”D
      Seems to measure out to 38L with my dimensions, makes sense why it felt bigger than the advertised 30L. Hope this helps!

    Would you know if the Bellroy pack would fit under an airline seat? I fly out of Atlanta and usually the Platinum/Diamond's take up all the overheads so I'm needing to place under seat. I don't want to be that guy that puts his bag 20 rows back then swims against the flow to get it. Also, maybe a review on the XR glasses. First I've seen those. Great video as usual!

    • @joshfenn
      @joshfenn  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The 30L would be snug under the seat but I think it would manage okay. Haven’t tried the 38L but I’ve never had a bag in that capacity range that fit well so I assume that wouldn’t either. The 30L though is really thin/flexible so it should mold into a tighter spot easier than more structured bags.
      Made a dedicated video for the XREAL glasses a few weeks ago and covered the viture pretty thoroughly a couple of months back in a ‘in-flight’ travel gear video, might be worth checking out! Been debating a dedicated comparison video for them both though sometime

    Water bottle was the first thing I thought of when I saw this set up. Thanks for addressing it. I tend to carry a Hydroflask UL 32 oz bottle which can get a big unwieldy. I've been using a Dakine Hot Laps 2L as a "sling" because it has the stow compression straps on the bottom. I can put the bottle there although it is not ideal given the "wings" of the pack when used in sling mode. Wish more sling bags would incorporate a water bottle solution in smaller bags. Most of the options I have seen have been in the 4-5L sling option which is just bigger than needed when carrying a 30ish liter pack as well.
