That looked like a very pleasant stroll over a variety of terrain. I found watching it, when ice and snow are about, strangely comforting and very relaxing. Keep wyrdly walking. Bye!
I clicked on this because I thought it was Victoria Coren Mitchell in the thumbnail and I really like her, but I'm so glad I did. Beautiful photography and what a lovely little place! I adore Dorset, so I will try to make a trip back there in the summer.
Envious of you what a great site been on my bucket list for some time. Love Dave Ford (and Logan of course) really good channel, I'd recommend 'The Dorset Rambler' also as Terry does some great historic walks also.
Behind everyone of these objects is a story. Every personnal story, sometimes long, sometimesshort, complex or simple is linked to this communial place.
Absolutely loved this Nic, brilliantly film, beautiful drone shots and loved the POV walking through the woods. The ruins and shrine are so lovely and tbh I was surprised to see the shrine in such good condition and still used. Great job m8 👍🏻
Thanks Nic. I knew where you were, when I spotted the Jurassic Coast bus passing along the main road . A very interesting place with a history to match. Looks as if quite a few people also visit.
Love finding curious places tucked away in the woods...and I'm loving those painted stones. Nice to see that the place hasn't become totally forgotten and people are still using the altar for offerings
Just subscribed on Mr Whitewicks recommendation and thoroughly enjoyed your vlog. I will look up the back catalogue and look forward to your future video.
Thanks Nic. Lovely video, and as always full of lots of interesting information. I was looking for somewhere to go for a weekend, and this place seems ideal 🙂
You're most welcome! It is a super place, and the whole area is wonderful to explore. Abbotsbury, the village just south of the chapel, is worth a visit too if you haven't already. 🙂
So beautiful, you always provide surprises. When you think it can't be better or more beautiful, you make it even more beautiful and better. Thank you Nic😀❤
Beautiful, stunning, this is one of my favorite walks. The woodlands look beautiful and peaceful. Idk why but this one touched me. That would be a place I would want as a final resting place too. It's gorgeous. Thank you for sharing ❤️🧡❤️🧡
I absolutely love that church ruin. I went there last year, and it really did have a unique tranquillity to it, I could of been there all day. The cross was in a different part of the ruin when I was there. I wonder if it's a part of the original church.
I agree. So tranquil and almost otherworldly to me. Interesting about the cross! I'm not sure if it's original. I read the Milne-Watsons added the altar in the 1920s, but whether the cross was earlier, I'm not sure.
Thank you for sharing 🤍 Interesting that the crucified Christ is wearing clothes and a `king`s crown`. He looks more like the King of Kings, from the Millennial Reign 🤍🏴
OMG I was horrified to see that National Treasure just sitting out in the open where a thief can just come along and steal it. That cross should be replaced with a replica and the original put on display at a museum.

Nice job. I'm glad they didn't demolish it for natural resources.
I agree! Thank you. ☺️
Beautiful place. So much history.
A hidden gem!

So true! Thanks for watching 😊
@@walkingthewyrd 😊
Beautiful. Are there any pagan connections? The offerings don't seem to be Christian in nature. Beautiful woodland stroll to get there.
Not that I'm aware of, but it definitely seems like a place of pilgrimage to many. It's got a very magical and ethereal feel to it.
Gaslight & Coke sounds like a terrible cocktail.
True! 😄
OMG I was horrified to see that National Treasure just sitting out in the open where a thief can just come along and steal it. That cross should be replaced with a replica and the original put on display at a museum.
Who said it is the original? 😏
Steal what? Lol
