That was the idea! Originally, all the dance sequences were just gonna be various synced-up normal attacks, but the raw animations just looked wayyy too smooth and jarring, so chopping and rewinding and freeze framing everything ended up producing a much nicer effect!

When the HD Blu-Ray Collector's Deluxe Edition Remaster comes out, you'll see the mocking crowd extends faaaar past the bounds of the frame. People came from miles around to watch these two dorks commit crimes against the art of dance and barely bust some sort of moves! The city eventually shut it down as a fire hazard. My boys just don't have any luck, do they?

This is surprisingly reflective of these 2 IN the game. the man-thing that CANNOT fight, and THE bottom tier, dancing together, and showing particular talent! sort of. just like in a fist-fight, Q just, CANNOT dance. he's stiff as a board, doesn't move fast, awkward as an albatross, hec, he's EASILY being outstyled by the jello man, but he doesn't care. he's just jammin! meanwhile, 12 has that FLEX, that PIZZAZ that WOW! hot taMALE, he's so cool! BUT, nobody cares. 12 is flashy, but it leaves it REALLY easy to spot his plans. GILL sure doesn't care, these 2 ANTS think they can stand in the PRESENCE of HIS might? yeah, stuff it man. you can HAVE your moutaintop. Q and 12 will keep on keeping on, dancing as much as they please, top OR bottom. it's MUCH nicer to live at the foot of the mountain, it ain't freezing down there for a start!
I'm sure I coulda got real crazy slicing the animations up even more, but I basically ran out of ideas lol (and also, the project file was starting to cook my computer)
How in the hell that anime got away with stealing Earth Wind & Fire's Let's Groove?! 1:17 those different colors Q dancing was really cool.......... it reminds me of a Michael Jackson dance scene.
Half the jokes on that show are references to other shit, so they either got really loose copyright law in Japan, or their lawyers are the best in the biz lmao
