I love you guys' energy to zoom all over town like that in one day! Amazing! I also love your cheery and positive nature, no matter the outcome of your efforts! Rascal, I had a good laugh reading, “My heart pitter-pattered fast…”😂. That’s why these “gambling” videos are so entertaining. Many viewers like yourself vicariously play along.😂 By the way, I’d like to see Pompsie play video roulette on this channel(not Pompsie Slots) at each casino on the Las Vegas strip, setting himself a modest goal of winning $50 or $100 at each casino. I think he’d do well. It would definitely be good content for his channel.👍
@@jairgomez358 I meant no disrespect whatsoever. But compared to Vegas, NYC, or even Tampa (I've lived in the latter two), it is small to me. And, as I said, I knew they had casinos there, just not so many is all. I was surprised.
Pompie --Thanks for coming back to Reno! Face it, friends--Reno, Carson City, and Lake Tahoe are all some great places to gamble and do much, much more--not to mention the great scenery...
I live in Vegas now, but growing up in Napa, Ca, it's roughly a 3 hour drive from Reno. My Mom and Dad's thing was drive up, take a nap and spend all night gambling video poker at Baldini's. The casino back then was known for giving a 6 pack of soda when you won a 4 of a kind. I've even gone a few times. They would come back with a trunk full of soda. I've always heard it brings bad luck if you gamble near an open door
Before Baldini's it was called the Shy Clown. I remember them having professional wrestling mtches there. Yeah, professional wrestling, lol.. We were so close to the ring, we could hear the referee shouting instructions to the wrestlers. "Stretch it out" was the funniest one.
Wow. you did some great planning of your Reno casino tour since it was so in order of how things are laid out! I always stay at Western Village when I'm in Reno. I agree, it's nicer than it looks!
I loved you and your significant other's laid back tour of all these casinos. Raised in Napa from 67-79, then working there after college from 81-94 until I moved to Phoenix, working for the customer and tourism service industry, Reno we went to often. Me and my two brothers were married there from 79-95, me being the last. My middle brother was bartender at Fitzgerald's, which is known for being the home of the 'Moonlight Bar' where Sister Act was filmed (though they portrayed it at being at the Nevada Club across the street, along with Harold's Club, also owned by Fitzgeralds). During the filming of Sister Act I left Napa for a year to work as Hospitality head of accounting at Harrah's Tahoe, for all of its non-gaming operations which led me into becoming a tourism systems instructor--that was my only experience working in the Casino industry and if one wants to do it, Tahoe or Reno, more laid back, is better than Vegas where I helped open the Rio Casino in 90 and learned from their employees who I was training how tough life is working in Casino guest service, especially if a tipped employee unless on the union payroll. All that said, your video is so wonderful, it reminds me of what gaming meant to me--not winning 'Megabucks' though I won more than lost gambling your style until I became a daddy, then my spouse and I chose Disney vs. Vegas for our daughter's vacations, lol, and we should have bought stock in Disney. Your video is nostalgic but most of all, respectful. I was tightly involved in casino security when I worked for Harrah's, and you and your significant other were the type of folks we enjoyed in our casino floors, lounges and entertainment centers because you respected the environment and attracted others into the places you played at. I live in Phoenix now, surrounded arguably by more big casinos than Reno and second only to Vegas, they are well owned and operated by various native american communities and surround our city using our freeway loop system. I've been to a few, but stopped altogether about five years ago because there are so many other things to do on my bucket list involving seeing more US national parks, and East Asia, Africa and Australia, which I have yet to visit. My fav casino story--in '84, on a guided European tour, we stopped at the Grand Monte Carlo Casino between the Italian and French Riviera. I put two francs on the roulette wheel, and more than doubled the bet---then left and cashed in, so I can brag to this day, 39 years later, that I won money in Monte Carlo. I apologize for hijacking your video, but it bumps your sponsorship of skillshare, and as a now retired systems instructor, I cannot say how important it is to foster continuing education which was what expanded my career--I devoted just a couple hundred a year to buying books on systems documentation, design, and instruction as well as cultural research for my clients, and I gained ten times that back yearly in increased income on average.
Even though it didn't work out at Rail City Casino, I loved that you took inspiration and picked a slot from the activities you witnessed while leaving Diamond Casino. This is something I would have done!
