  • History of the Normandy landings on d-day with little known history and secrets.
Check out my other social media on TikTok and instagram, under the same “What history” name!
I asked chatgpt to write a description because I don’t have time to write 5000 characters, this is what it said about d-day, take it with a grain of salt.

My Grandad LeRoy Perry, 101st 502HQ. He was a demolition specialist that jumped in the wee hours before DDay to blow up bridges.

Hey man, what youre doing here is an awesome thing. Thank you for these history lessons, its beginning to become a lost art. You should become a professor or something someday. Thank you for your grandfather's service. 🙏

So grateful for those military troops who fought for our freedom!

I’m heading there later this year. I went there about 25 years ago but didn’t have enough time to explore. I have many days to explore the area this year. This video was very helpful in researching the areas I want to visit. Thank you!

From the accounts that I have read, the majority of the troops landing at Omaha had 200 to 300 yards of beach to cross to get to the top of the sand/sea wall...but some had longer distances due to boats getting stuck on sandbars. There are some very highly detailed maps that were used for planning the landings at Omaha Beach, and they show the low tide line marked and there are multiple scales indicated on the map for yards and meters and other units of measure. The maps even show the sandbars the Allies had spotted on the western end of Omaha that the boats were reportedly trying to avoid.
