Get the truck. It will have the 4L80E transmission that is very durable. It will do anything you need it to do and that one even looks nice. I have a 2000 1500 that I bought wrecked and fixed that has 280K on it and it runs and drives perfectly. An added bonus on all of this generation truck I have seen is that the AC on them is VERY cold. They are easy to work on and parts are cheap.
Just had my 4l60e rebuilt, updated parts. 175k, and 27yrs in texas heat is decent before rebuild imo.

The Lexus looks great and should be an easy fix. The temp gauge won't move if there isn't any coolant. It measures the temp of the coolant.

Chevy should be 6.0 in 2500 . Good engines but exhaust manifold bolts can break causing ticking at startup

Mike, approach that K2500 Chevrolet pickup with the pushbutton controlled transfer case with caution as if it is like the 1999 GMC K2500 that I had (special ordered/purchased new), the electronic control module and switches were manufactured by Lucas Electric. In my experience, the control module was true to the Lucas Electric "Prince of Darkness" reputation -- that $750 module failed at a rather predictable 15,000 to 20,000 mile interval for the 212,000 miles that I owned that vehicle -- leaving the vehicle locked in whichever drive mode it was in when the module failed.

The red Chevy truck will be perfect for Mike but over 200K miles. is too many miles for that truck, but she's is in great shape for her age.😊
That Silverado would be the perfect tow vehicle for you. Just remember that it’s a truck that runs and drives and you are in Oklahoma. I bet that truck sells for way more than it’s really worth. If you can get it for a decent price then I would say go for it but I wouldn’t count on that.

The 2000 Chevy Silverado 2500 definitely would be right tow rig Monkey Wrench Mike but wouldn't trust those Bridgestone tires.

My dad had the same truck and it was incredible! Bought new and still in the faimly . This is when chevy quality was at its best! Not sure they will ever build a reliable truck again?

MR Mike I think that you should get the Chevy truck for your towing and all you need is a very nice looking trailer and you will be in a very good place to be able to get your own car's and maybe even help out your friends. Randy and Santa's work shop when they need help and it's not a bad looking truck and the mileage is not a problem and they are CHEAP to get parts for I did have a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer but my daughter had a very bad wreck and I think that it's a total loss and in the past year I have put all new brakes and I had the transmission rebuilt and even a new battery and last but not the water pump and when it went out it took out my radiator and this was all dun IN the last year so I think that I'm going to get it in the end period Charlie kretschmar Phoenix Arizona

Why would you part out the Lexus? The damage is light, mostly cosmetic, new rad and condenser, used front bumper and accessories

Hello Mike aka Monkey Wrench Mike. The 2012 Lexus is a decent looking car even though it's got front end damage. The 2014 Acura TL is a good looking car even though it's got front end damage on the drivers side.

I will never understand why/how people neglect something that costs over 40k when new (2014 Acura TL). I just don't get it. I only payed 12k in 2020 for my 2016 Scion iM (35k miles), and the thing is garage kept with 62k miles now. It legit makes me mad lol.

Idk about the Silverado. 260k miles are too much, I think. Also, it comes with nothing, no backup camera, maybe no air conditioning, nothing… I can’t drive daily a car without nothing of this things. Get the Lexus. It’s practically brand new with fourteen years on her back.
