Fuel heater is to warm the engine to ensure it runs efficiently. Will start up below 5C when engine started. You can get add in modules to talk to it and start it up before the engine starts. For a warm start to the journey

I mostly enjoy jobs on my cars and treat problems as bonus puzzles. ( I am not normal🤪) Having said that there are a few of my videos that needed audio editing🙂. And if you want to hear me swear in fluent brummie and Lincoln drawl simultaneously, just wait for the video when I decide to take the catalytic converters off the xk8. That’s the worst job I can think of in my fleet.

I can only hope you derive similar levels of ownership pleasure with "Blu" Can't remember if I said what fuel consumption mine uses, but it's available if you want/need it.

@@ToTheGarage Hi John, re fuel consumption, most of my ride-outs are on B and A roads, cruising at about 60mph (100 kph) and I average 40 mpg. On motorway runs at 75-80 mph I average 44 - 48 mpg. Well serviced but no mods vehicle.
Hey John, glad no more 'Bongs' I so glad I live in AZ the underside of "Steed" sure has suffered, I have used one of those hose tools for years on many a car and they are invaluable there is also a "close proximity" one that is like a pair of pliers that is great if you have good access, the clamps they use great for assembly in the factory not so good for us mechanics :(, hey John when removing a stuck old rubber hose I use a Stanley knife (yes I'm old school that's what I call it) and slice down the length if the hose where it is stuck, obviously if it's plastic underneath go easy. ALSO another Top Tip, when putting hoses on spray liberally with WD40 inside and out, inside hose goes on easy outside clip slides up easy :) it's easier than just spraying the clip. always listen to your dog I listen to mine they usually are saying "Loook at me I am amazing". You used cable ties, aren't there special clips, don't get me wrong you did a neat job but I am sure Jaguar didn't use cable tie's even though Ford owned it.
Hi mate Thanks for the tips. Certainly should have deployed more wd40 There is the remnants of a clip, that I will have to source. Essentially a fir tree base, pushed into a hole in the radiator fan cowling, with a snap together hoop mounted on it to hold the pipe. Only the snap together bit had been mauled by a previous butchers pliers. So cable tie until I get a stash of those 🤔 ‘hose stand offs’?
I used an air powered needle descaler on the rear subframe on my S Type 2.7. With Hammerite and black rust proofing looks much better. Like your laidback approach John.
Hi John. I have an x100 xjr and an S Type with the 2.7 and they make excellent stable mates. The 2.7 is a great engine, but they do take ages to get up to temp. I do regular oil changes to counter any dilution from the dpf regenerating and would suggest you look at the Smith and Allen C1 spec oil - meets Jaguar recommendations and is very well priced.
I own a x350 v8 4.2 se rear bottom wishbone bushing are the biggest problem I replaced mine with power flex and it the best car I ever owned light as a feather and great handling on b roads gives 34 mpg on long runs cheap car because no one what's them the x358 is a beautiful car
Hi got x358 diesel. Got water leak from behind ac pump. Cant see where its coming from. Can only see water stain. Just want to know does anyone know if it has plastic housing that pipes are linked to.
Does it appear to come from where the strut tower comes close to the Air con pump Ish z32? If so there is a coolant pipe out of sight that connects the EGR valves on both banks and when that lets go it sprays water in that direction. But there are no water pipes that form part of the power steering or its bracket.

I use a little dab of swarfga jell hand cleaner on such pipes, to lubricate them, and they go in a lot easier...

A good repair there. Please take a wire brush and rust converter to that subframe, it seems to be rusting quite rapidly!
