I also started changing the way I was killing zombies too - a few people were suggesting headshot everything (granted that gives camo progress), but they said it because they thought there would be a headshot medal which grants exp like in multiplier. There actually isn't, though, so I found the best thing to do is go for the medals earned from killing x enemies without taking damage, x enemies with a weapon in rapid succession, along with destroying a manglers arm/no damage from an elite/destroying all 3 abom heads. Everything adds up! Double exp also added some extra progress, but not double, which is bizarre once again. I have some of my data and recordings saved.

if you use the augment you get more exp towards the research, tested this with napalm ammo mod. Did multiple rounds not using the ammo mod and then rounds with it. Got significant gains when using the augment that you are researching. Went from napalm 1.5 to 5.75 in 4 rounds of exfil at wave 36. All of my rounds have a 70% or higher critical rate with large packs being killed, no single mob kills.
I love games 9 and 10 4:28. It truly shows that the rampage inducer really has no effect on xp/point gain. Now, is there a 3 minute gap? Yes. But fill that 3 minute gap and youd rough out to the same
Bit late to the party, I used your spreadsheet, and did some more consistent testing. I did 12 matches to round 26, bringing 4 guns from 0 camo to gold, as those challenges provide exp. Each game had a consistent 980-994 kills, and between 870-904 critical kills. The last gun was done on double exp, as I finished the first augments. It takes around a total of 325,000 exp to reach a level 6 augment, I believe the first 2 levels require the same exp. Or very close, the 3rd and 4th. Similar, 5th and 6th similar based on exp.
The last 3 matches, I used double exp, and I gained the same amount of progress on a new augment as the first 6 matches, to nearly an exact % of progress. Also each game was between 25:44 and 26:15. I don't think in game points affect the results. But every game was around 128,000 and 130,000 points. Some games had a round 1 double exp. No nukes were grabbed mid round, only the very end, and rage induced was active every game
This is really good stuff. I’ve also been tracking via the spreadsheet, and I’m 51% sure that the daily challenges track for augments. I logged on today (Season 1: Reloaded) in my Directed Mode Liberty Falls camo grinding game, did the 3 challenges which yielded 2,500 XP/ea + the 5,000 XP for completing all 3 and got maybe 1/12th the way to my first Vulture Aid augment. I’m going to try again tomorrow and see if I get the same result. Of course this is all anecdotal and YMMV
@ the TH-camr MCZ made an in-depth look in gobblegums and he found out that he got significantly worse drop chance of gums when the rampage inducer was activated even for like 5 secs the whole game was affected
This is some seriously impressive stuff. It's one thing to just track damage or recoil versus attachments but it's another to have to build a coefficient to be able to measure progress relative to time played.
Here I was as a complete newcomer thinking that you HAD TO match augments to progress research at all, lmao it is what it is I guess, thanks for making this information available to us!
I feel like the natural COD thing is that the augments take more xp to level up the higher they are. But I also wonder if it depends on the individual augment as well. Also would make sense that challenge XP isn’t considered, or maybe it levels based on number of kills? It could also be based off of how much scrap or points you have leftover at the end of the game unused? Tons of possibilities and kinda frustrating it isn’t stated outright
Clicking on this video, the one thing I most wanted to know was if it was better to use the item in which you were researching lol. I do appreciate all the hard work though. Still… this video was helpful. Thanks.
Based on looking at your data and my personal experience (very limited), my theory is that augment xp would progressively increase like perks in this game. So first augment is 25,000 then the second 30,000 then 35,000 and so on.
as a fellow spreadsheet enthusiast myself, your data still holds truth even a month later. i just started playing about 4 days ago and given what i knew before watching your video and then confirming my theories afterwards via your findings, it's very likely to be all true for your findings. however, the one thing I know I'll add is everytime I have played, i always will try to do the EE. infact, there is no game I have played unless i intentionally left at round 1/2 with randoms that weren't doing the EE. Since it was double xp weekend, i'd just cut my exp in half if i were to try to find the exp per min value. most of my EEs i did over the weekend i got around 100k+ exp. my two rounds i did into 50+ for the terminus EE i went from 0 augment research to max for each time. at that point i wasn't really leveling up guns or doing side quest cause of the risk of ending the round if we were holding zombies for whatever reason. EE add quite a bit, I am not sure how much but I do know they add a lot considering my average round of exfiling out after EE's this weekend was in the 30s, about 2 hours of gameplay, me holding the zombies and getting the lowest amount of kills, and still ending up with 150k+ exp typically. this weekend, I do intend to actually chart my numbers just to see if speedrunning EEs will give me greater gains vs just round farming. I don't really play for the grind much anymore, I just like doing challenge runs now a days but it's been doubling up as extra exp for me and my friend group by trying to go as high or as fast as possible, or both.
Absolutely subscribed for this video. Glad to see someone try to take time and research for accuracy rather than just regurgitating others for quick views.
Thank you for your hard work and sacrifices, like not exfiling. We won't know exactly how augments leveling works unless somebody from Trey leaks them. Let's just play the game and have fun!

I agree I been running all the numbers xp doesn’t change rampage gets you thru faster, sam trials more zombies more xp, its whatever you want camos or weapon levels or a certain augment. Big W
I don't normally comment much, but after seeing how astronomically high the amount of xp was I figured it would be worth sharing with you all. I played a liberty falls match with a full squad and got 111279 xp and 43765 essence. We exfilled at 41 but I had substantially more points than everyone else. One of my friends joined the match at round 19 and still got about 80,000 xp. We did'nt complete the main easter egg, but we did most of the smaller ones. Throughout the match we completed a few sam trials, looted the vault with gold keys, and bowled as much as we could earlier on for the loot drops. I was using my my class set up with the wonder weapon for that map (cant remember the name). I ended with 2495 eliminations, 1308 criticals and 1610 total elims with the Model L (unlocked the last 2 zombie skins and both special skins in this match), 94 specials elims, 14 elite elims, 5 Revives, and 1 down. None of my augments are maxed out but they all have a major and a minor augment applied. Hopefully this helps someone out!
I believe that if you use staminup you have to sprint as much as possible, if you use juggernog you have to take some serious damage and let your health build up as much as possible, if you are using speed you need to reload as much as possible, if you are using phd flopper you need to be in the area of either the fire or explosives damage, if you're using melee macchiato obviously you need to melee etc. Yes XP will move the bar,but actually having the perk do what it's meant to do is what moves the bar faster. The same applies to the ammo mods and everything else.
No. You don't even have to equip a certain perk. Let's say you want to research PhD but don't buy it during your match. Your augments still get research done. So this is absolutely incorrect. The bar moves always at the same speed.
@@requiemagent3014 I agree that you don't have to have whatever you're researching equipped and the bar will move at a certain rate, but seemed to me that it gained a lot more ground when I was doing the specific action associated with the perk. I may have perceived this incorrectly but I was making extremely, ridiculously slow progress on them until I started doing this. Again I may be wrong, I've made no scientific research project out of it lol.
I was watching this not logged in and had to just to say amazing, this was so nostalgic of the old CoD days the spread sheets and all i remember other channels doing it. So good. And like back in the day ill watch this, pretend im going to play more optimised then grind like a Neanderthal not doing anything optimally. Balanced as all things should be.
You are beautifully dedicated to this game! Thanks for all the hard work. Kinda hope Treyarch would just tell us how they work, but I suppose this is part of the fun. EDIT: So I just played a game, and as of writing this there is a double XP weekend right now. I didn’t even finish it yet, I’ve saved and exited because I had to tend to something. It may not be both weapon XP *and* account level XP that augment research takes into account, but it definitely is at least one of them. I have gotten 2.5 augment milestones for Aether Shroud (starting from no research,) and that’s Rnd. 23-ish *without* exfil. There is definitely something here! Thought of you and this video, wanted to add my thoughts. 💙
11:20 I think you are correct. I've been doing high rounds for weapon camos and the games I run weapons that are 20 levels + i tend to earn more XP towards Augments. A 40 round game with only using one high level weapon would tend to net me about 1.5 levels towards whatever augment

I appreciate you opening yourself to criticism & opening the opportunity for the community to piggie back & enhance & or critique your findings. You should subscribe to this man now
I think augments definitely take longer as you get closer to the end. I was at the final one and played to round to round 32 I believe and died, when I finished it was only about half way there and was mind blown because I’d usually get at least one full augment done for that
You need to have a control game, then start adding and changing and combining different things like rampage inducer and matching your augments. Comparing the differences between the different combos of altering factors to the control will give you the % difference they all make. And yes, I am inebriated while typing all this, but I'm super into this video right now 😅
Also, love and appreciate the heck out of you for the time and effort you put into breaking down and explaining so many things for the zombies community. W x ♾️ 🍩🍩🍩

Something to note, if you also want gobblegums don’t use the rampage inducer, it significantly reduces your gain
Can you explain how it affects your gums? You mean like it’ll drop flavorless ones or ?
@ the TH-camr MCZ made an in-depth look in gobblegums and he found out that he got significantly worse drop chance of gums when the rampage inducer was activated even for like 5 secs the whole game was affected
@@carvedmoth4779so if I want xp, I go with rampage, but if I want augments, I don’t use rampage right?
That sounds like utter bs.
Just found this vid and subbed simply because of the amount of effort you put into this, this is amazing.
I started watching during mwz and every single video I watched of yours has helped so much❤️❤️
Instant subscribe! Love getting into the math. Thanks for putting the work in!
Should be an option to see in game progression of augments . Got a few like halfway to last one and don’t wanna over grind
Thanks Dnuts for all the effort you put into these vids, thanks bud.
With the amount of spreadsheets you make, and the detail you put into it as well as time, you would already have a masters in accounting my guy
TLDR Exfill on round 31 do sam trails and use rampage inducer
Guy loves putting everything into spreadsheets and its awesome lol thank you for all the time you dedicate to this
as a fellow spreadsheet enthusiast myself, your data still holds truth even a month later. i just started playing about 4 days ago and given what i knew before watching your video and then confirming my theories afterwards via your findings, it's very likely to be all true for your findings. however, the one thing I know I'll add is everytime I have played, i always will try to do the EE. infact, there is no game I have played unless i intentionally left at round 1/2 with randoms that weren't doing the EE.
So happy youve become the spreadsheet guy! Best BO6 content by far
My jaw dropped when you showed the spreadsheet your commitment is insane and it deserves a sub
Brilliant @Doughnuts ...i love the depth you bring to things man. Quality!!
Man, great info. I love your style. I like how your open to being corrected. I believe you are being 100% not bs lies from a know it all. Good stuff.
Let’s use a graph! Graphs graphs graphs. Thanks for providing the spreadsheet
i'm not sure if you or anyone else has noticed but i think when you finish an augment in game it will change to a new augment automatically making sure you don't lose any augment research
@@MaximilianTurner How ?? I've just done Augment Research for Napalm & it doesn't Automatically Change to another Research regardless of which Category....
I have no words other than thank you for your dedication and services and explaining things like this. Looking into things like this and trying to help us all out. You are much appreciated!
GREAT video Dognuts, thanks for the tips!
Fire video dawg, so stoked I stumbled across your channel
Thank you for spending your time into this! I checked this out just now (3 weeks after release) and wondering if any of your assumptions or learnings have changed :D
You’re the GOAT. Thank you for your dedication 🙏
Keep in mind with this data, treyarch tweeted that they're still working on the xp balancing of zombies. So your data will most likely change after dxp
I’ve been waiting for this game to come out to see what content you’d come out with and I’m not surprised. I love it!!! The videos are always so useful and guide us in the best possible way. I’m glad I stayed subscribed since last year with modern warfare 3!!
Keep up the good work and you 100K soon!
Just wanna say I really appreciate this kind of information. I remember back when Sour was doing this type of xp testing in Cold War (?) a few years back I was really appreciative of it back then as well.
Shoutout to this guy for being a spreadsheet enjoyer
IMO you should add the total amount of essence collected in your games as well, just to see if there's a correlation between that and augments
Fantastic video man!
The fact this guy made a spreadsheet is fcking amazing, nice job dude, holy shit.
long story short, it's kill based, you don't have to use whatever perk aat or field upgrade you want to upgrade
This is why you subscribe to someone like Doughnuts, someone clearly smarter than me and kind to share what he researches
I agree I been running all the numbers xp doesn’t change rampage gets you thru faster, sam trials more zombies more xp, its whatever you want camos or weapon levels or a certain augment. Big W
Moment of silence for the spreadsheet. Appreciate the dedication 🤯🔥
You deserve more subscribers. You put alot of effort in this video and i thoroughly enjoyed it. SUBCRIBED!
Great video! Love the excel
Spreadsheet, keep putting out the content.
This is mental mate been waiting for this exact post mate as augments have been driving me mad your the man bro
The break down in these spreadsheets are awesome!🕺💃
i knew it doughnut 🍩 that’s y i love your spread sheets
11:20 I think you are correct. I've been doing high rounds for weapon camos and the games I run weapons that are 20 levels + i tend to earn more XP towards Augments. A 40 round game with only using one high level weapon would tend to net me about 1.5 levels towards whatever augment
Subbed because quality content
My God, as someone in corporate sales; that spreadsheet is beautiful.
A well crafted & thought out video. My & my buddies have been wracking our heads trying to make rhyme & reason of how the xp. I appreciate you opening yourself to criticism & opening the opportunity for the community to piggie back & enhance & or critique your findings. You should subscribe to this man now
Could you make a video about the specific numbers for perk a cola augments? Like the ones that say ‘slightly increase’ or just ‘increases’.
I knew there was a reason I followed you dude. You’re Excel breakdown and easy to understand explanations are ace. Thank you! Learned loads!
you’re
Subscribed. you're so thorough it's awesome. Thanks 🎉
From what ive seen in my augment journey, its tied to how much you use said augment.
Gotta give a like just for the dedication 👏
Amazing video, I hope more people see this.
WOW! Was looking for this kind of depth of research! I kinda found out all the same things but without all the graphs. So I would kinda confirm basically all information you just gave! Really would love the gobblegum information as well, So I subscribed!
Definitely subscribing. Appreciate your passion and attention to detail
wow. did not know I liked spreadsheets this much. I'll take more if you got em. for real though, thanks for taking the time to make them. I find them super interesting and badass quite frankly
Great job! thank you for being the zombie communities mad scientist and running all the numbers!
Hey thats a ton of work man thanks for doing this for us all you rock! 😊
🍩 :D
hey i just finished a match in Liberty falls with an exfil, reached round 36 102032 xp earned, got almost 3 agument levels for shadow rift. what i did was simple leveled up ames 85 from 1 to 30, used a new scope, finished some reticle challenges, and i did the 8 camo challenges, 1700 headshots was done. i hope this helps your research.
(note: 2xp was active during my gameplay)
hello again, im here to say that augment levels 99% related to xp , same thing as last game but different research, i was doing E pop and it went from 0 to 2.1 something like that, camo challenges, reticle challenges, exfil at round 36. not sure about the xp amount i got sorry.
why exfil at round 36 because normal weapons dont do much damage anymore.
bro always has spreadsheets goodddd legendaryyyy amazing thank you always☦️🥰
