This is by far the best and most comprehensive fundamental striking series available online. With the popularity of MMA and the huge number of people training today, I don't understand how these videos only have a few thousand views. A free guide to striking by a world champion striker. To any aspiring fighter this information is so valuable and made available free thanks to Bazooka Joe. Your doing great work, Thank you.

lachlan22 yes I totally agree mate this guy fantastic coach as well as fighter great tips he even points out all weaknesses that lot people including myself do wrong, everyone should watch he's videos, but can't mention mma though different ball game doesn't have to worry about being taken down,

James Miles totally agree very different sports. proper striking technique is a huge part of the game and where better to learn it than off a world champion striker. a correctly executed head kick or knee is even more important in mma with more options to be caught, countered or taken down.

The knee video corrected my knees and gave them so much power, I used to think knees were useless cause I have good power with all my other limbs but man my technique was off

hey man , first off i wanna thank you for sharing your knowledge and beeing so consistant on your video output. I whould like to ask, if u can maybe show us or more like talk us through some of your fights and how to fight against certain styles. E.g how u fought against Raymond Daniels or Nieky Holzken and what was your strategy etc... Best wishes from Germany and thank you. :)

it's a pity you had to stop competing. Your videos are great, lots of knowledge, examples and logically sequenced. I can tell you are a teacher by the way you explain things. Thanks for sharing!!

Joe - your series of your videos are fantastic and some of the best on TH-cam. There are a lot of videos on fight strategy but not a lot of videos on how to train. We're doing your drills and seeing a big difference. You're a great teacher - thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Why is Troy pivoting his foot perfectly on his left kick but no at all on his right kick? Awesome Video!

Awesome series! Do you think this kinds style is also good for mma striking? Or is it to dangerous to
start a combo with a kick?

Great content! Thanks for posting. Question - the demonstration partner goes for the roundkick, appropriately lifts the heel of the post leg, BUT doesn't seem to rotate. But because the heel is lifted like that, it tells me that he's trained to rotate, but appears to be modifying the kick so that he can follow up with the punches.
Does that headkick to hook, cross combo work better when there's no rotation? That would kinda make sense to me - hard to recover from the headkick if you rotate on the post foot.
    Thank you in advance!

He was doing different types of kicks, with the right leg he was throwing a fast round kick to the body, you don't have to pivot your left leg that much, it isn't as powerful but it's faster. It's a very tma kind or kick.
With the left leg he threw a switch kick, a Muay Thai kind of kick where you are suppose to be as powerful as possible. So he pivoted the right leg on that.
You can follow both these kicks with punches without much problems.
I would guess that he doesn't feel comfortable with his left leg enough to throw the same kind of kick as the right leg, since these TMA kicks needs more muscular control to throw them fast and get back to your stance properly.
Anyway, 9 months later you got a response. Probably too late but I hope I helped.

You could add an external mic or audio recorder to get the 'hitting sounds' and edit out the heavy breathing but still have the commands. Or slow few combinations clips speed and just add jazz music. Keep it up, awesome material. Been studying it for a while and spreading it like the plague since the quality is superb!

my kicking leg usually ends up being my lead leg after a kick, and at that point im in a good punching stance(to what i believe to be one)

What in the world was that left kick style!? Also, the taller guy drops his right hand each time he initiates a right kick... dangerous habit.

bigbobabc123 the Dutch style of kickboxing. that is what is used primarily in Glory and K1 unless they are identified as a Muay Thai practitioner.

Joe trained under Kru Paul Minhas who trained under Ajahn Suchart Yodkerepauprai, so Muay Thai mixed in with Dutch style as evidenced by his love for hooks and getting in the pocket.

why giving a leg kick you dont pivot your lead leg aren't you suppose to pivot your foot when throwing a kick ?

    • @MrImontop12
      @MrImontop12 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Silvafox its different everywhere but pivoting the foot is a concept adapted by the thais to maximize power the reason you wouldn't want to is so that you can return to your stance quickly (you dont overcommit)
